Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 367: Chapter 249: A Slap

The crowd of onlookers suddenly erupted in a flurry of shocked cries.

Jackie Chan was stunned, too.

He never imagined Lin Chu would strike with such decisiveness.

”Whose kid is this?”

”His parents need to come out and get him under control!”

Lin Chu’s gaze swept across the crowd as he asked calmly.

Gao Haitao hurried over.

From a short distance away, a blond, blue-eyed Caucasian man in his thirties also hurried over.

”Get out!”

”Is this how your parents raised you?”

Lin Chu repeated, his face devoid of expression.

’Actually, I can see a faint resemblance to Zhuang Yingcheng in his features,’ Lin Chu thought. ’He’s younger, of course—either the second or third son. His way of doing things is almost identical, too, like they were cast from the same mold.’

’So you like to crack jokes, do you?’

Two young men from Jackie Chan’s entourage quickly stepped forward to pull the two apart.

As he was being pulled away, Zhuang Fajing shouted, ”Uncle, since you want to meddle in my family’s inheritance, I’d just like to ask: How big of a cut did my big brother promise you?”

He put the matter of the slap aside for the moment; this was his main goal.

With so many people present, it was the perfect opportunity to brazenly announce this in front of everyone.

Jackie Chan was a man who prized his reputation, and Fajing wagered he wouldn’t want to be known for ”coveting another family’s inheritance.”

Hearing this, the party once again descended into an uproar.

This was truly explosive news.

Jackie Chan?

Meddling in the Zhuang Family’s inheritance distribution?

The distribution of the Zhuang Family’s inheritance had been a source of constant rumors since the beginning of the year. The conflict centered on four publicly listed companies, with the three brothers, two uncles, a group of old-guard executives, and outside investors all locked in a ceaseless struggle. The animosity was clearly intensifying.

And now, even Jackie Chan was getting involved?

Upon hearing his third brother’s words, Zhuang Yingcheng’s expression changed drastically. He had almost cracked a smile when he saw Lin Chu slap his brother, but now... for him to shout this in front of so many people, Jackie Chan would be mortified.

”Third Brother, what nonsense are you spouting?!”

He strode over quickly.

Zhuang Fajing cursed him to his face, ”You sellout! If Dad knew about this, it would make him turn in his grave! You piece of trash! Go on, crawl back to Peng City!”

”And you, Jackie Chan! If you want to meddle in the Zhuang Family’s affairs, then I’ll take you on!”

”Watch out you don’t tarnish your legacy in your old age, you big shot!”

His defiant posturing commanded the attention of the entire room, putting him even more in the spotlight than Lin Chu had been just moments before.

The Caucasian bodyguard who had hurried over stood beside him, his sharp gaze sweeping over everyone at the party.

’What a situation...’

Lin Chu’s brow furrowed slightly.

’He’s pretty aggressive.’

’The Zhuang Family’s third son really gives off the vibe of a reckless hothead.’

’Of course, this doesn’t have anything to do with me now.’

’That nasty trash talk just now probably wasn’t aimed at me, but at Jackie Chan.’

At that moment, Lin Chu even found this sort of wealthy family drama to be rather novel.

He was experiencing a high-stakes business war firsthand.

High-stakes business wars in your imagination: internal power struggles, stock market battles, every player a master of their craft, each displaying their unique skills.

High-stakes business wars in reality: a public screaming match and threats of backstabbing.

’Of course, in the end, any fight over the distribution of assets is fundamentally a battle between people.’

’It’s all about people. The person always comes before the problem.’

’Got to hand it to him, though,’ Lin Chu thought. ’While the third Zhuang son’s methods are crude, he’s effectively blocked Jackie Chan from getting involved.’

Zhuang Fajing was quickly dragged out.

At a time like this, the best solution was, in fact, to remove him from the situation.

After all, nearly all the guests present were friends of Jackie Chan.

And for behavior like Zhuang Fajing’s, the most appropriate response was simply to have him thrown out.

Taking the microphone, Zhuang Yingcheng apologized to everyone on behalf of the Zhuang Family, explaining that his younger brother was immature, had a bit too much to drink, caused a scene... and so on.

And with that, the disturbance was temporarily quelled.

Lin Chu mulled it over. ’If it hadn’t been for my slap, this whole ruckus would have left Jackie Chan in a really awkward position. As the ”senior” figure, there wasn’t much he could have done about a junior causing trouble in public.’

’Of course,’ he thought, ’my part in it was just collecting a little interest.’

...

The atmosphere at the party wasn’t greatly affected. The band began to play some soothing music, and the festivities continued.

After chatting and laughing with a few middle-aged men, Lin Chu saw a rather plainly dressed girl walk up to him and ask curiously.

”Hello, Brother Lin.”

She had her hair in a ponytail, an oval face, and delicate features, yet she wore no makeup. She exuded a quiet, scholarly temperament, like a refreshing girl-next-door. Dressed in a red tracksuit, her voice was soft and gentle.

’Except... she’s really tall. Even a little taller than me,’ he noted.

’Uh.’

’A girl who’s at least 1.85 meters tall.’

’Kids are sure well-fed these days.’

”So, which school of Wing Chun are you from?” she asked with a smile.

Lin Chu: ?

’What the fuck?’

He took another look. Her back was perfectly straight, and she carried herself like someone with martial arts training. Lin Chu couldn’t help but rub his nose and laugh awkwardly. ”And you are?”

”My name is Mo Xiaorou, of the Planing Lotus school of Wing Chun. My grandfather is Mo Peian. Senior Brother...?”

Lin Chu: ...*Cough, cough.*

’Don’t know them.’

’Well, this is fucking awkward.’

’I was just running my mouth, making a reference for fun. I never expected to run into an actual successor from a real lineage.’

’On top of that, I know absolutely nothing about the different schools of Wing Chun. Mo... Peian-what? Never heard of him.’
