Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 355: Chapter 245: 9 ”Giants

After chatting a while longer, Lin Chu politely declined Jackie Chan’s dinner invitation and left his home. He couldn’t help but feel that the hero was in his twilight years.

He was old.

’He’s really gotten old.’

Though his hair was still jet-black, bags had appeared under his eyes, and a couple of faint age spots were visible on his face. When he stood up, he even had to steady himself by his waist.

Still, being able to live out his golden years in health and comfort was, in itself, a great blessing.

The fairest thing in this world is time.

Time descends upon everyone at a constant, even pace. It doesn’t matter if you’re a high-ranking official or a multi-billionaire; no one can escape the day they grow old.

Some people are terrified, so they frantically research life sciences.

Some foreign tycoons even indulge in blood transfusions, using the young, vital blood of their own children to replace their own.

At its core, it was a futile attempt to cling to the flame of life as it flickered and faded.

But, of course, it was destined to be impossible.

Over two thousand years ago, an ancestor of the people of China, the first emperor of a unified nation, had already proven it to be a farce.

Mulling this over, Lin Chu felt even more keenly how precious time was.

Becoming filthy rich while you’re young really is a wonderful thing.

You have tons of time, tons of money, and boundless energy to experience all the wonderful things the world has to offer.

He glanced at his phone. A message had come in from Zhang Peng.

Representatives from the private jet and yacht companies had arrived. They brought a complete set of product brochures for private customization.

As top-tier industrial products, they had long since implemented modular customization options.

Lin Chu simply replied with one line: ”Fully loaded, but I need the fastest possible delivery.”

Once he received the message, Zhang Peng knew what to do. He relayed the instructions to the representatives of both companies.

Meanwhile, Lin Chu couldn’t resist calling his dad.

”Dad, I bought a mansion in Xiangjiang. Want to come live it up? I’ll get you a butler from the United Kingdom and a few Filipina maids. They’ll wait on you hand and foot like an old landlord. How does that sound?”

Lin Chu said with a grin, a light, teasing tone in his voice.

’Dad probably won’t agree.’

After all, he was living a pretty comfortable and carefree life in the village, especially now. But whether he agreed was his business; whether Lin Chu offered was his own. It was just like that classic line about giving gifts: ’I don’t have to accept it, but you have to offer it!’

”Too busy!”

”I’m raising chickens!”

”You’re living it up big time, I see. But you do you, and stop bothering me. What would I even do in Xiangjiang? I don’t know a single soul there. Now, if you had a kid, I could come help you look after them.”

Lin Haifu’s refusal was firm.

And while he was at it, he pressured him to have kids again.

He paused, then couldn’t stop himself from launching into another tirade. ”Other people don’t want to get married or have kids because they can’t afford a house. But you? You’re buying one mansion after another! You bought one in Yang City, and now you’re buying another in Xiangjiang! Are you planning to eat them? Or are they just for storing your ashes later? You little brat! We have to repair the ancestral hall at the end of the year! I want to be a grandfather!”

His tone was overbearing, with a touch of a scoundrel’s shamelessness.

Lin Haifu knew his son was strong-willed. If he didn’t push him hard, he wouldn’t take the matter seriously.

Lin Chu’s tone remained cheerful. ”Okay, fine. I won’t call you Dad anymore. I’ll call you Grandpa instead. Hello, Grandpa! I’m your good little grandson, Lin Chu. I’m three years old.”

Lin Chu deliberately put on a childish, high-pitched voice, teasing his dad.

Lin Haifu: ”Get lost! I don’t have a grandson like you! I’m hanging up!”

BEEP BEEP BEEP...

He hung up in a huff.

Lin Chu, on the other hand, couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

’Unbelievable.’

’I offer you a life of luxury, and you turn it down.’

’Suit yourself.’

...

A Mercedes with Xiangjiang license plates drove down a tree-lined path in the neighborhood, then suddenly stopped. It reversed slowly, and the rear window rolled down, revealing a familiar, handsome face.

It was none other than Zhu Yixian.

He looked even thinner than before, almost like a stick figure. He had faint dark circles under his eyes, too. Lin Chu knew him well; it likely wasn’t from overindulgence. More likely, it was because preparing for the professional Gold tournament was just too exhausting.

”Brother Chu, out for a walk?”

Zhu Yixian opened the car door, stepped out, and asked with a grin.

He felt a constant sense of gratitude toward Lin Chu.

This was true whether it was for easing the tension between him and his older brother, or for entrusting him with the immense responsibility of the professional Gold tournament.

His own family wouldn’t have given him such an opportunity, because it wasn’t his turn. But Lin Chu did.

He was a true benefactor.

”Yeah. You’re back?”

Lin Chu was again struck by how small Xiangjiang was. ’You’re always bumping into people you know.’ It was said that celebrities in Xiangjiang didn’t even need to wear sunglasses or masks to the market. Were the local fans just that used to seeing them? The small area and dense population were probably major factors.

”Yeah, I just crossed the border. My family sent a car to pick me up. I’m going to head home first to greet the elders, then I’ll come see you.”

He had the cautious demeanor of someone from a family with a strict upbringing.

Even though he was a grown adult helping with the family business, he didn’t dare rashly invite Lin Chu to his home without his elders’ permission.

”Alright, go on then. Take care of your business first.”

Lin Chu gave a casual wave, bidding him farewell. He then continued his stroll back home. Along the way, he pulled out his phone again and dialed Li Ziming’s number.

At that moment, Li Ziming was in his office at the LC Club in Peng City, handling some routine matters.

Lin Chu had made Xin Fu the person fully in charge of the Gold professional tournament, which gave Li Ziming a faint sense of crisis. He felt as if he’d been given the cold shoulder and even felt a little guilty for some reason. ’Could it be that Lin Chu found out what I did?’
