Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1395: Chapter 1380: Refusal

Huo Sining didn’t respond, just looked down at the teacup in front of her.

She knew this competition was extremely important, otherwise Song Chaoying wouldn’t have come to her so desperately for help. But she really was powerless. Even if she had never been to Las Vegas, she had heard of its reputation. Gambling in the Mainland was child’s play compared to that place.

Even though she had the Heavenly Eye cheating device, compared to the big sharks in Las Vegas, she was completely out of her league. So, even if she wanted to help Song Chaoying, she didn’t have the ability.

Huo Sining wasn’t someone who overestimated her abilities. On the contrary, she knew her limits well and would never get carried away just because she won a few gambling rounds in Ao City and on the high seas.

International competitions were different from minor domestic squabbles. Without absolute certainty, Huo Sining wouldn’t easily take risks. So even though Song Chaoying pleaded repeatedly, Huo Sining remained tight-lipped, unwilling to change her mind.

“Miss Huo, I know you have your difficulties, but I still hope you can reconsider this matter. This is the invitation sent from Las Vegas; if Miss Huo you change your mind, we will welcome your joining at any time.”

Upon seeing Huo Sining’s unpredictable expression, Song Chaoying knew the negotiation should end here. Before Huo Sining showed signs of impatience, Song Chaoying decisively stood up and left a gold-embossed English invitation, then left the elegant tea room with Song Chaojing in tow.

Unexpectedly, not long after, Song Chaojing suddenly ran back, raised her proud head, and looked down at Huo Sining, directly asking, “Miss Huo, are you familiar with Brother Ouyang?”

Huo Sining initially thought Song Chaojing had forgotten something and was about to ask, but unexpectedly, Song Chaojing opened her mouth with such a question.

Huo Sining was a bit puzzled but didn’t hide it and slightly nodded, “Not very familiar, just some work interactions that turned into friendship. Why does Miss Song ask?”

Song Chaojing snorted coldly, “My sixth sister is too shy to ask, so I’ll be the bad guy. Our family is discussing a marriage alliance with the Ouyang Family. We don’t want any complications in this matter. Miss Huo, you’re a smart person; I think you understand what I mean.”

At first, Huo Sining was a bit shocked by this matter. Looking at Song Chaojing’s expression, like a mother hen protecting her chicks, she suddenly realized what this Ninth Miss of the Song Family meant.

So this Miss Song thought she had some sort of illicit affair with Ouyang Jun? No wonder Song Chaoying looked at her so strangely earlier.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but find it funny. Although Song Chaojing’s words were clumsy and somewhat arrogant and aggressive, Huo Sining still understood her meaning.

Because when Huo Sining was gambling in Ao City and on the high seas, Ouyang Jun was present, and her relationship with him was indeed quite good. Plus, last time that lathe was solved because of Huo Sining, so Ouyang Jun was very close to her, practically treating her like a younger sister.

It’s probably because of this that it caused a misunderstanding among the Song Family, leading the Song Sisters to think she had some ambiguity with Ouyang Jun.

If it were anyone else, Huo Sining might not even bother to say an extra word, but since this involved Song Chaoying and Ouyang Jun’s lifelong affairs, Huo Sining had to take it seriously.

“Ninth Miss of the Song Family, you probably really misunderstood. My relationship with Ouyang Jun isn’t something that can be explained in a few words, but it’s definitely not what you think. You’re not in the Mainland, so you might not be aware of some news here. In fact, I am already engaged, and Brother Ouyang is a childhood friend of my fiancé. Do you really think we could be in the kind of relationship you suspect?”

Upon hearing Huo Sining’s candid explanation, Song Chaojing was taken aback and then immediately appeared embarrassed, her face turning red.

Huo Sining didn’t mind and laughed, “Ouyang Jun is indeed an excellent person, very compatible with Miss Song Six. A marriage alliance between the Ouyang Family and the Song Group is big news. Looks like I’ll have to prepare a generous gift. I hereby first congratulate Miss Song.”

Song Chaojing was straightforward, having worried ever since she heard that her sixth sister was going to marry a gentleman from the Imperial Capital. Later, she discovered that her future brother-in-law seemed to be very close to Huo Sining, which made Song Chaojing suspicious.

At this time, Huo Sining also rejected Song Chaoying’s gambling competition request. Seeing her sixth sister’s gloomy expression made Song Chaojing even more suspicious. She thought the reason Huo Sining refused to go to Las Vegas for the competition was because of Ouyang Jun’s influence. She believed this woman was deliberately holding out, definitely meaning to overshadow her sixth sister.

Song Chaojing grew up in Ao City, and with the Gambling King Song being quite the lover, so many wives that ten fingers couldn’t count them, she therefore assumed Ouyang Jun was the same.

The Song Family was discussing marriage with Ouyang Jun at the time, and suddenly there was this mysterious Huo Sining, leading Song Chaojing to imagine a storyline of a first wife and a second wife.

Moreover, Huo Sining’s aloofness didn’t help. All her previous admiration and fondness for Huo Sining generated during gambling on the high seas flew out the window, and all she wanted was to vent Song Chaoying’s anger.

Before coming to S City, Song Chaojing had thought about whether to find someone to secretly teach Huo Sining a lesson. But reason prevailed, and she pestered Song Chaoying to come to the Magic Capital, wanting to ask directly. If Huo Sining truly liked Ouyang Jun, she certainly wouldn’t let her sister suffer in silence.

Now, upon hearing Huo Sining say her relationship with Ouyang Jun was ordinary and that she was already engaged, Song Chaojing sighed in relief and couldn’t help but smile at Huo Sining and say:

“Sister Huo, you’re engaged already? To whom? When’s the wedding?”

Now she was calling her ‘sister’ repeatedly as if nothing had happened just now and everything was Huo Sining’s delusion.

Huo Sining was a bit at a loss for words, thinking to herself that this Ninth Miss of the Song Family was faster at changing expressions than flipping pages!

“I’ll definitely invite you to the wedding when I get married.”

Huo Sining actually quite liked Song Chaojing’s personality; although somewhat spoiled and willful, she wasn’t false, so Huo Sining didn’t mind Song Chaojing’s earlier aggressiveness.

“Hmph, if you don’t want to say it, don’t. But you must inform me when you’re getting married; I’ll come to be your bridesmaid then!”

Seeing that Huo Sining kept her mouth shut, Song Chaojing asked no further questions.

Earlier, she had lied to Song Chaoying about forgetting something just to come back and ask Huo Sining for clarification. Now that she got the answer she wanted, she wouldn’t linger. She hurriedly ran out to catch up with her sister.

The elegant room was left with only Huo Sining sitting in the chair, staring blankly at the invitation on the table.
