Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1379: Chapter 1364: Bluefin Tuna

Qibao hadn’t had such a long bath in a while. Once in the sea, the fellow was like a wild horse freed.

As they entered the deep sea area, Huo Sining let loose this little guy, allowing Qibao to frolic in the water. They were already in the high seas and it was nighttime, so there wasn’t much worry about danger, and Huo Sining didn’t mind.

Although she had descended from the Modu Seaport before, in fact, Huo Sining hadn’t fished for sea fish. Since she was down this time, she certainly wanted to catch some seafood to taste.

Huo Sining patted the dolphin’s head, indicating for it to lead the way, and it immediately took Huo Sining and Qibao to swim towards a part of the deep sea.

Huo Sining was feeling quite pleased, thinking that having such a mount in the sea sounded pretty cool, something that others could only envy.

Yet before she’d finished savoring this feeling, the dolphin had taken her to its home base.

To the right of the sea surface ahead, a rocky island appeared. A group of dolphins was resting against it, occasionally a few would dart out of the water, letting out high-pitched, melodious sounds, much like a baby’s cry.

Seeing this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh, “Hey, I asked you to help me find a school of fish, why did you bring me to your house?”

Perhaps those dolphins didn’t see humans often and felt lonely, or for some other reason. Seeing Huo Sining and Qibao appear, the dolphin group got restless. In no time, dozens of dolphins were churning on the sea surface, circling around Huo Sining and Qibao, jumping and squealing with excitement.

“Why are they so happy?” Qibao asked, puzzled, looking at Huo Sining.

Huo Sining shrugged, “I don’t know either, but dolphins are said to be very intelligent animals and aren’t afraid of humans. So I guess maybe they’re longing to communicate with humans. Opportunities to see humans are few on the high seas, so they think we’re not dangerous and want to be close to us.”

Since Huo Sining was a biology major, she did have some understanding of marine life. Dolphins are indeed cheerful and goofy, which is why many people love taking photos with them in aquariums.

Hearing this, Qibao nodded, and in a short while, was already playing with that group of dolphins.

As they were enjoying themselves, a strange screech suddenly came from among the dolphins. Numerous dolphins immediately received some kind of command, jumping in unison into the water, heading straight into the depths.

“What’s going on?”

Huo Sining was puzzled, barely having time to think before the one that had brought her over before suddenly carried her and Qibao on its back, diving deep with the group of dolphins.

Upon entering the depths, Huo Sining’s Water-Repelling Pearl immediately took effect. Originally unable to see clearly in the night, now everything lit up before her. All she could see was a school of dolphins sprinting through the water, as if frantically chasing something.

The dolphin beneath her was in its youth, perhaps having previously been bathed by the Spirit of Azure Pearl. Its body was more robust than other dolphins, and its speed in the water was faster than ordinary dolphins. Even with the burden of carrying Huo Sining and Qibao on its back, its speed was not inferior to the other dolphins, catching up to the front of the group in no time.

At this moment, ahead of Huo Sining, the scene opened up, naturally drawing her gaze to a sea fish frantically trying to escape.

Upon spotting this fish, Huo Sining’s breath immediately quickened, excitement overtaking her.

It was a Bluefin Tuna, two to three meters in length, its size larger than a full-grown dolphin, seemingly weighing no less than two hundred kilograms.

Bluefin Tuna are oceanic migratory fish that seasonally approach the coast, generally living in waters between 0-100 meters deep, capable of reaching depths of up to 985 meters, sometimes accompanying Barracuda, Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, and horse mackerel, feeding on small shoaling fish or squids and red crabs.

The Bluefin Tuna is one of the most sought-after edible fish, highly favored by gourmet enthusiasts worldwide.

Of course, this was not the reason for Huo Sining’s excitement. She was thrilled because such a Bluefin Tuna could sell for tens of millions in the market.

Just last year, while in Dongyang, Huo Sining had seen a piece of news about Bluefin Tuna.

In November last year, at Dongyang’s largest seafood market, Dongdu Tsukiji Market, a sushi restaurant purchased a 222kg tuna for 155 million yen, equivalent to about 10 million RMB.

This hugely priced transaction of Bluefin Tuna made waves in Dongyang and indeed the whole world, for it broke the highest price record and set a new historical benchmark.

That was the first time Huo Sining had heard of the Bluefin Tuna fish species.

Unexpectedly, this venture into the sea led her to such a big catch. Huo Sining immediately felt a rush of adrenaline, eagerly staring at the giant sea fish, afraid that it might slip away if she let her guard down.

The dolphins were still in hot pursuit, and by now Huo Sining understood that these dolphins were diving into the deep waters in such unison to accomplish something.

Dolphins are mammals, and although they may appear sizeable, their nature is gentle. They are not bloodthirsty and do not prey on large fish; they typically eat small fish or squids. Typically, they wouldn’t be hunting tuna in groups.

But now, each dolphin seemed excited in pursuit, even subtly moving to encircle and hinder the Bluefin Tuna, their purpose being quite clear: to help Huo Sining chase and trap this Bluefin Tuna.

Bluefin Tuna are like cheetahs, capable of reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour. However, this one was bulky, its normal swimming speed leisurely; amid the chase by so many dolphins, it soon panicked and darted erratically, expending much of its energy.

Dolphins are naturally agile, and with so many dolphins working together, they formed a powerful force. Quickly, they implemented a strategy of surrounding and cutting off the Bluefin Tuna, creating a circle.

The Bluefin Tuna wasn’t stupid, aware that it couldn’t afford to be caught within the dolphins’ encirclement, so it chose a direction to break through.

Yet luck wasn’t on its side. Out of all the lanes it could have chosen, it picked the one where Huo Sining stood.

Huo Sining awaited for it to fall into the net, and as she saw the fish rush swiftly towards them, Huo Sining’s dolphin instinctively swerved to evade. As the Bluefin Tuna broke through, skimming past Huo Sining, she reached out with lightning speed.

The dolphins only saw a blur; that Bluefin Tuna, once enveloped in their circle, vanished in the blink of an eye!
