Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1357: Chapter 1342: What’s This Thing

Because of this suspicion, Huo Sining immediately picked up the phone and called Swiss Bank’s customer service, planning to transfer some money into that account.

Unexpectedly, after making the call and reporting the account number, the customer service on the other side replied to Huo Sining that her permissions were insufficient, and she needed to call headquarters to inquire about the specifics of this account.

Upon hearing this explanation, Huo Sining was stunned. Insufficient permissions? What does this mean?

“Swiss Bank accounts are like this; if the other party chooses absolute confidentiality, ordinary staff cannot access information related to the account. Unless you are the account holder yourself, or if you know the password, there might be a chance.”

Listening to this, Gu Xu quickly explained to Huo Sining, “Come to think of it, how did your cheap old dad get such a high-level Swiss Bank account?”

Huo Sining couldn’t make sense of all these factors, not understanding what Liang Ruining meant by sending her this abrupt message.

However, when Gu Xu mentioned the password, it reminded Huo Sining of something.

Previously, Xu Lian had used her mother’s heirloom as a bargaining chip to swindle five million from Huo Sining, and that heirloom was eventually brought back to the Huo family by Wu Jun.

There weren’t many of her mother’s relics, just a few trinkets she made by hand and a diary.

In that diary, it was all about her past memories with her father. One entry mentioned how on their first anniversary of meeting, her father bought a rose for her mother, who was very happy and said that they would use the day they met as their family’s bank card password so it wouldn’t be forgotten.

Remembering the content of that diary, Huo Sining felt a stir in her heart. Could the password for this Swiss Bank account her father sent her be set to the date he first met her mother?

With this thought, Huo Sining called Swiss Bank’s customer service once more, and re-inquired about the account. This time, when entering the password, Huo Sining input the date her father and mother first met.

After entering the six-digit password, Huo Sining felt quite nervous and apprehensive.

“Account password verified correctly, please hold on.”

Hearing this voice, a rush of excitement surged through Huo Sining’s heart, her guess was indeed correct.

“Madam, your account appears normal. If you wish to withdraw items from the bank safe, you will need to verify your identity at the Swiss Bank’s New York branch. My permissions here are insufficient to help you extract items from the safe.”

A bank safe?

After hanging up the phone, Huo Sining was still full of doubt, not expecting that this account turned out to be a Swiss Bank safe deposit box.

What is her father renting a safe deposit box at a New York Swiss Bank for? What important items does he need to keep so confidentially in a Swiss Bank safe deposit box?

In that instant, Huo Sining suddenly recalled the time back in Xianyang when Liang Ruining used pieces of paper to inform her about Old Mr. Zhong.

She had never directly interacted with this man, but he always provided her with the most advantageous help behind the scenes.

Huo Sining felt that this time, her father was likely offering her assistance once again.

In her heart, there was a vague premonition that by sending this sudden message, Liang Ruining definitely intended for her to go to the bank to retrieve the items, and it was evident that her father must know she’s currently in New York, even understanding that she’s representing the Huaxia Country at the International Treasure Appraisal Conference.

Therefore, the things in this safe deposit box could very likely be items she might use in the upcoming treasure appraisal conference!

“Early tomorrow morning, let’s head to the Swiss Bank in New York!”

Huo Sining’s eyes sparkled as she firmly announced to Gu Xu.

The International Treasure Appraisal Conference was being held at the New York International Exhibition Center. New York paid great attention to this event, likely hoping to enhance the city’s influence through such activities.

The official name of the International Treasure Appraisal Conference should be the International Art Appraisal Conference, where ancient artifacts, commonly known as antiques, were to be showcased.

The reason why this art appraisal conference is translated to the Treasure Appraisal Conference domestically is that there is no strict international definition for antiquities.

Each country has a different history, leading to different definitions of antiques. For instance, Huaxia Country’s authorities broadly categorize antiques as cultural relics, while items from after the Republic of China period are called modern artworks.

Dongyang people use World War II as a benchmark, categorizing items before WWII as antiques and those after as modern artworks.

Americans are more rigorous, considering items to be antiques if they are a hundred years old.

The most impressive is Greece, with its long and rich history, they have no shortage of antiques, so they believe that only items over five hundred years old have the depth to be called antiques.

Each country has different criteria for determining the authenticity of antiques, and the International Treasure Appraisal Conference cannot standardize the antique age criterion worldwide.

Therefore, when appraising treasures at the conference, appraisers are only required to state the period and origin of the ancient objects, not to authenticate their genuineness.

The highlights of the International Treasure Appraisal Conference are, of course, the appraisals, but besides appraisals, there is also the exchange and exhibition of art treasures brought by each country’s representatives.

Two days later, after all the delegations had arrived in New York, Huo Sining and her group left the hotel promptly at eight in the morning.

The Huaxia delegation had its luxury coach, on which the experts and appraisers attending the conference boarded; in addition, the exhibition pieces for the treasure appraisal conference were all packaged and loaded onto the vehicle one by one.

“Ningning, what’s in your suitcase?”

Su Qingqing was particularly curious about the suitcase Gu Xu was carrying beside her. Early yesterday morning, after having breakfast with Gu Xu, Huo Sining had dashed outside the hotel in a hurry, leaving Su Qingqing and the others behind, causing a stir of protests among them.

By noon, when Huo Sining and Gu Xu had returned, they saw Gu Xu holding a password-protected suitcase. At that time, Su Qingqing and others were very curious, chasing after Huo Sining to inquire about the contents of the suitcase.

Despite this, Huo Sining remained tight-lipped and wouldn’t reveal anything, which made Su Qingqing feel annoyed yet helpless against the locked suitcase.

Now as they prepared to head to the treasure appraisal conference, seeing Gu Xu carrying that suitcase again while Huo Sining acted all mysterious, Su Qingqing’s curiosity was ignited once more, compelling her to ask again.

Huo Sining gave Su Qingqing a sly smile but didn’t say a word about the password-protected suitcase.
