Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1360: Chapter 1345: Arrogance

Even before Huo Sining attended this treasure appraisal conference, she had vaguely heard rumors that the appraisal conference would be authorized by CBS TV Station in New York for full filming and live broadcast.

Due to the issue of the gold-threaded jade clothing, both Huaxia and Dongyang sides were each holding their ground, and the quarrel and conflict were intensifying.

Now, the organizers deliberately arranged the Huaxia Delegation and the Dongyang Delegation to sit together, which is certainly no coincidence.

Huo Sining even suspected whether this was instructed by CBS TV to increase viewership by arranging it like this.

Such a deliberate arrangement made many comrades from the Huaxia side deeply feel the malice brought by this appraisal conference, with each of them looking visibly uneasy.

Li Jun naturally noticed that the seat next to them was the position of the Dongyang Delegation, and he was also a bit surprised, looking at Huo Sining with a somewhat awkward glance.

Though he was the hosting investor of this appraisal conference, matters like seating arrangements were the responsibility of the organizing committee, and even he had no authority to intervene.

”Miss Huo, shall I go talk to someone from the organizing committee to see if we can exchange places with the French Delegation Team?”

Li Jun asked awkwardly.

A hint of disgust flashed in Huo Sining’s eyes, but her face remained calm. She waved her hand and said, ”No need to change, let’s just keep it like this.”

Not to mention how troublesome rearranging seats would be, if other countries’ experts saw the Huaxia Delegation making a last-minute seat change in such a scenario, they might even think that the Huaxia Delegation was afraid of some mere Dongyang people, which would backfire.

Huo Sining wasn’t someone who feared trouble. Nor did she understand the doctrine of harmony and moderation. Since this group of Dongyang people wanted to stir things up, why not make it even more intense and see who ends up losing face!

Li Jun showed no displeasure towards Huo Sining’s attitude. As the young heir of the Li Group, he followed behind Huo Sining like a follower.

Li Jun was genuinely impressed by Huo Sining. The strength of this woman was something ordinary people like them couldn’t compare to.

Li Jun only wanted to build a good relationship with Huo Sining, so even if he couldn’t buy that piece of dragon stone species, he could still find an opportunity to borrow Huo Sining’s dragon stone species for an exhibition at their company for a period of time. This would only benefit the Li Family’s jewelry company without any harm.

Although Huo Sining said that there was no need to change seats and she took the lead in sitting down, most experts’ gazes couldn’t help but linger on the seat to the right.

The Huaxia Nation is a nation that believes in the doctrine of the mean, deeply rooted in Confucian thought. There are many countries in the world opposed to Huaxia Country, but Huaxia Country generally adopts a persuasive policy towards these countries.

Huaxia people are tolerant towards any country in the world, but the hatred for Dongyang people runs deep into their bones and is embedded in their flesh. This hatred is rooted in each person’s heart.

It could be said that as long as one is a Huaxia person, there will be more or less such a hatred, especially the older generation who feel it most deeply. The number of relatives they lost during the eight years of the anti-Japanese war is proportional to their hatred.

Elder Zhu sat next to Huo Sining. Upon seeing the placard of the Dongyang side, his face darkened:

”What a bad omen, this is clearly those Americans playing us!”

Huo Sining couldn’t help but smile at Elder Zhu’s words. She truly didn’t expect Elder Zhu to be such a straightforward person; the other senior members, though also hating Dongyang people, wouldn’t actually express it, but Elder Zhu spoke out without any hesitation.

”Elder Zhu, rest assured. Their arrogance won’t last long.” Huo Sining comforted with a smile.

Just after Huo Sining and her team sat down, the Dongyang Delegation, led by Takada Etsuichi, followed closely behind.

The Watanabe father and son and Sakai Ichiro followed behind Takada Etsuichi. Besides appraisers and collection experts, there were also a few people carrying boxes.

Seeing the largest glass box covered with red silk cloth, the smile on Huo Sining’s face suddenly froze.

Watanabe Yasu had been staring at Huo Sining, and when he saw her gaze fall on that glass box, he immediately raised his eyebrows proudly and provocatively looked at Huo Sining: ”Miss Huo, we meet again!”

There’s no need to guess that inside that box is the set of gold-threaded jade clothing that was swapped!

Coldness appeared in Huo Sining’s eyes as she tightly gripped the safe at her feet, yet the corners of her mouth continued to rise.

Thousands of seats were fully occupied, and several participating delegations even had escorts or secretaries, and because there weren’t enough seats, some had to stand at the back of the exhibition.

At the center of the stage was a bright and spacious glass showcase, on which six pinhole cameras were installed. The cameras were connected to six electronic screens above the exhibition, capable of fully shooting and magnifying the treasures displayed on the showcase.

Installed below the showcase were bright lights, and the large screens had extremely high resolution, ensuring that every audience member below could see the treasures on the showcase very clearly.

Art exchange is not just the simple appreciation of antiques. The collection experts from various countries are bringing out their treasures from the bottom of the box to not only let everyone else examine their treasures but also see if others’ treasures are genuine.

This segment tests the treasure appraisal ability of each expert and also serves as a means for them to challenge each other.

If a counterfeit is found in the event, it would not only be a hit on their own face but also disgrace their countrymen.

Foreign exhibitions were not like domestic ones, the opening ceremony was very concise, with no lengthy speeches from leaders, only a dignitary from the New York government attended the opening, serving as the emcee, directly announcing the rules of the exhibition.

At nine-thirty, the event was officially opened with the announcement from the host.

As the organizer and host of this conference, the Li Group naturally had to take to the stage for an exhibition, so Li Jun was the first to ascend the podium, placing the box he was carrying on the showcase.

The Li Family had gained some fame in the United States over the years, and since Li Jun was the young heir of the Li Group, the future successor of the group, when he ascended the stage, the entire venue erupted with applause and whispers. There were those who were envious and jealous, those with ulterior motives, and even some with the intent to woo or charm a wealthy heir, all mingled within their complex expressions.

Li Jun remained calm, already accustomed to those looks.

As he opened the box in his hand, he smiled and said:

”As the first person to take the stage and display treasures in this appraisal conference, I feel both fortunate and anxious!”
