Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1386: Chapter 1371: Who Are You?

Huo Sining raised her head and gazed at the tanker in the distance, battered by the blue whale, her lips curling into a peculiar smile.

Indeed, Huo Sining had earlier told Qibao and the dolphin to leave so they could find a way to lure some sharks over.

Huo Sining had been to this sea area before with that dolphin, and was chased by a tiger shark, almost getting torn to pieces. So she knew very well that this area should be the territory of a group of tiger sharks.

Because sharks are gregarious animals, the dolphin, leading Qibao, soon found a school of tiger sharks while searching in this sea area.

The little guy was having a blast; although young, he was surprisingly bold, using the spiritual energy of his Rock Spirit Pearl to toy with a group of sharks, making them spin around. Eventually, the sharks collectively went berserk, chasing after the little guy madly. Qibao, riding the dolphin, dashed across the sea with a face full of pride.

He managed to provoke over a dozen tiger sharks; these sharks swarmed under the sea, leaving Huo Sining feeling a bit frightened and anxious.

This sea area, due to the injury of the blue whale earlier, had a lot of blood flowing from its body, forming a band of water dyed red with fresh blood.

With their extremely sensitive sense of smell, sharks can pick up the scent of blood dissolved in millions of gallons of water, so when they chased Qibao to this area, they quickly detected the scent of fresh blood in the water. In an instant, more than a dozen sharks went crazy, starting to search everywhere for prey.

“Yoshida, what’s happening?!”

On the tanker, a group of sailors was ready to face the attack of the giant whale. But to their surprise, after making all the preparations, the blue whale suddenly stopped ramming the ship and swam away into the distance instead.

“Quick, follow that blue whale!”

The captain quickly issued the command. The tanker started moving in the direction of the blue whale, and the sailors began pulling the tow line, trying to tighten it further so that the iron claw would thoroughly tear open the blue whale’s wound. This way, once the blood ran dry, the giant whale would be on the brink of death, allowing them to control it at will.

“Killing a blue whale means we’re striking it rich this time back home!”

“Yoshi, we’ll definitely get a big share of money. By then, I’ll have to bring that bitch Matsusaka to bed!”

“Hehe, Yamaguchi, you’ve got some guts, daring to lay hands on your aunt. Aren’t you afraid she’ll tell on you?”

“Report what? That woman only wants money. Last time I came back from the sea, I bought a string of pearl necklaces, and then she obediently lay down and let me do as I pleased! That taste, tsk tsk tsk…”

As the sailors pulled the tow line, they were discussing indecently with obscene jokes.

However, while pulling the tow line, something happened, and suddenly, for a moment, the sailors couldn’t feel the tremendous pulling force from the other end of the line.

The giant whale, with its massive size, had been resisting, keeping the tow line taut.

But all of a sudden, the tow line went slack. The group of sailors, initially exerting force, lost their balance when the strength at the end of the line abruptly dissipated, causing them all to tumble backward onto the deck.

When the crew leader reacted, he saw a bunch of people sprawled all over the deck. The tow line connected to the whale harpoon gun, lying limp on the deck, pulled out a long section from the sea with just a tug!

“Damn it, the whale harpoon gun actually got dislodged by that whale?!”

Seeing the situation, the leader was the first to respond, hastily pulling the tow line back.

Several sailors also got up from the ground, clumsily helping out. After just a few minutes, the long tow line was completely retracted onto the deck. At the end of the line, it was empty—no whale harpoon gun was there, and even the triangular iron claw was missing.

Seeing a perfectly clean cross-section at the end of the tow line, the sailors on the deck were astonished.

The leader’s face darkened instantly, looking at the chain, which seemed to be cut with a chainsaw. He looked up at the deep sea surface, his mind in disarray, unable to fathom an explanation.

“This…isn’t right, this chain must have been severed by some sharp object. If it broke off, it wouldn’t be so neat!”

“Coincidence, maybe? How could someone in the sea saw off a chain, have you gone mad?”

The leader’s face turned various shades rapidly, watching the sailors still arguing, he suddenly slammed the tow line onto the ground with a shout of rage: “Baka yarou!”

The sailors instantly fell silent, none daring to voice any opinion further.

The leader snorted coldly, turned, and walked toward the captain’s cabin, seemingly to ask the captain what to do next.

No one would know, while they were embroiled in their arguments, someone was climbing up to the ship from the portable rope-ladder at the stern.

“Captain, the blue whale is too strong. The whale harpoon gun got snapped. What should we do now? That blue whale…”

Inside the captain’s cabin, after the leader reported the situation, he intended to say more, but before he could finish, a slap from across the table landed hard on him.

“Baka, don’t you know how valuable that blue whale is? Keep chasing it. That whale is already injured; even if the blood runs dry, we have to bring it back! It can’t escape!”

The captain looked imposing and determined. The leader, slapped, quickly became red and swollen, hurriedly lowered his head, and responded submissively with a “Hai!”

Although the leader also felt that after being hit by the whale harpoon gun, the survival chances of the blue whale were slim. Still, for some reason, stepping out of the captain’s cabin, the thought of the severed tow line came to his mind. The neat break in the chain made him feel a vague unease.

In the control room, a staff member was dozing off, suddenly waking up with a start. He lifted his gaze to the monitor screen, suddenly snapping awake.

“Captain, captain, there’s a new development, a large school of sharks ahead! This is great, if we catch these sharks too, we’ll definitely strike it rich this time!”

The operator hurriedly rushed to the captain’s cabin. Pushing the door open, he anxiously shouted inside, but after voicing this, he realized the captain wasn’t in the cabin. In the office chair, sat a woman he had never seen before.

The operator was dumbfounded, instinctively asking, “Who are you?”

The woman opposite slowly raised her head, a bloodthirsty smile spreading across her lips.

“Me? I’m here to help you with your research!”
