Urban Martial Saint

Handsome Fatty Wang is just like Old Wang Ba, belonging to the type that’s very hard to deal with. A tomb robber who doesn’t even know any martial arts dares to fool even Prince Wan Yan, which is not just a matter of being bold; he’s also very clever. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to steal everything from the Shen Family Manor’s Treasure Pavilion.

Since Ye Qing had obtained the famed instruments from the South Ridge Sect, he no longer had any use for those from the Shen Family Manor, and naturally wanted to return them. However, as they were in a hurry to go to Beimang Mountain, it would be best to leave this task to Handsome Fatty Wang and his people. But Handsome Fatty Wang is difficult to handle, and after Ye Qing had snatched the famed instruments from the South Ridge Sect, he might harbor ill intentions. Making him send the Shen Family’s famed instruments back is practically impossible. Ye Qing was still pondering how to force Handsome Fatty Wang to obediently return these famed instruments to the Shen Family Manor.

Huangfu Ziyu’s method was actually quite good. She didn’t directly use poison to threaten Handsome Fatty Wang, because he’s not easily threatened. However, threatening the people around him is different. These people aren’t as hard to deal with as Handsome Fatty Wang. Huangfu Ziyu gave them pills, and they definitely believed it was the real Three-Day Gut-Breaking Powder. To save their lives, they would surely send those famed instruments back to the Shen Family Manor obediently.

These people are very familiar with Handsome Fatty Wang, and with them carrying the famed instruments, even if Handsome Fatty Wang wanted to play tricks, it wouldn’t work. To save their lives, they would be on guard against Handsome Fatty Wang. Having them personally escort the famed instruments ensures the safest situation. Besides, Handsome Fatty Wang couldn’t turn them against him; these people aren’t as shrewd as he is, nor do they have his guts. They absolutely wouldn’t dare test whether the Three-Day Gut-Breaking Powder is genuine or not, because that would mean risking their lives!

Moreover, Huangfu Ziyu did not let Handsome Fatty Wang take the Three-Day Gut-Breaking Powder, and this was purposeful. These people had all taken the poison, and Handsome Fatty Wang hadn’t. If he wanted to turn them, they would definitely think he’s speaking without any concern for their safety, and they wouldn’t trust him.

Handsome Fatty Wang wasn’t foolish either. Seeing those people’s expressions, he understood that he stood no chance of taking those famed instruments from the Shen Family.

Handsome Fatty Wang walked up to Ye Qing with a frustrated expression and whispered, ”Young Ye, where did you find such a woman? She’s even harder to deal with than you!”

”What did you say?” Huangfu Ziyu immediately turned her head and looked, scaring Handsome Fatty Wang into a shiver. He quickly forced a laugh and said, ”Nothing... didn’t say anything. I... I was just thinking, how lucky Young Ye is to find such a beautiful wife as you...”

Huangfu Ziyu glared at him and said sternly, ”Get all the Shen Family’s famed instruments out right away, and fly to Xi Hang in the morning!”

”Alright...” Handsome Fatty Wang replied weakly. Although unwilling, he had no choice but to lead Ye Qing and the others to gather all the Shen Family’s famed instruments.

Over one hundred famed instruments were lost by the Shen Family, and more than twenty were sold by Handsome Fatty Wang to the South Ridge Sect, each with a tracking device attached. Handsome Fatty Wang used these devices to find the South Ridge Sect’s secret warehouse.

After getting all the famed instruments out, Ye Qing also found those he sold to the South Ridge Sect. Together they constituted the batch of famed instruments lost by the Shen Family.

Digging out these famed instruments from the Shen Family, Ye Qing counted carefully. Altogether, there were 287 pieces he had snatched from the South Ridge Sect, even the most ordinary among them were valuable. And there were some particularly powerful famed instruments among them, like the New Pavilion Marquis Chengying Sword. These were renowned ancient famed instruments. Later lost to history, who could’ve thought they would be collected by the South Ridge Sect, and eventually all fell into Ye Qing’s hands.

”New Pavilion Marquis, Chengying Sword!” Huangfu Ziyu remarked in admiration, ”If these two famed instruments were released, they would definitely be coveted by countless people. From the power aspect alone, their might even surpasses the Cold Moon Blade and the Fire Blade Sword!”

”Really?” Ye Qing was surprised; the Cold Moon Blade and Fire Blade Sword were the keys to opening the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, with extremely formidable power. Could the power of the New Pavilion Marquis and Chengying Sword really surpass these two famed instruments?

”Absolutely!” Handsome Fatty Wang chimed in, ”The New Pavilion Marquis, it’s said to have been crafted using Red Bead Mountain Iron when the famous general Zhang Fei of the late Han period was first titled New Pavilion Marquis. Initially, its power wasn’t strong. However, after Guan Yu was killed and Zhang Fei set out to avenge his brother against Eastern Wu, his lieutenant couldn’t endure his punishments under drunken rage, snuck into Zhang Fei’s camp at night, and took his head with the New Pavilion Marquis. Thereafter, its power surged overnight, rising from an ordinary famed instrument to rank eighth among ancient famous blades. You can imagine its power!”

Ye Qing looked at Handsome Fatty Wang curiously, ”Where do you hear about these things?”

Handsome Fatty Wang replied proudly, ”Don’t forget what Fat Lord does for a living, I’m into archeology. How could I not know these things?”

”It’s tomb-robbing, not archeology!” Ye Qing sneered, ”Is the New Pavilion Marquis really that powerful? And how could the power of a famed instrument suddenly soar once it’s fully formed? Are you just making this up?”

”Come on, don’t insult our profession. Although Fat Lord makes a living out of this line of work, we deal with history with great rigor!” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”Would I make up these things? Even if I were to make something up, I’d have supporting evidence. To be honest with you, the story of the New Pavilion Marquis I learned from an ancient tomb, where there was a book recording the history of many famed instruments. Not only was there the New Pavilion Marquis, but also the Chengying Sword!”

”Is that so?” Ye Qing immediately became interested and asked, ”Does it say inside why the power of the New Pavilion Marquis suddenly increased?”

”There are some records in there. It seems to say that Zhang Fei died unjustly, so all his essence blood attached to the New Pavilion Marquis, which caused the increase in its power,” Handsome Fatty Wang paused and said, ”However, there’s another note in that book. It might be that after killing Zhang Fei, the New Pavilion Marquis finally sharpened its edge, hence the power boost. Anyway, it’s clear that the New Pavilion Marquis is very powerful. Why worry about why its power suddenly increased?”

Ye Qing nodded, holding the New Pavilion Marquis in his hand, and slowly swung it a few times. Since the Seven-Star Ancient Sword was taken by the Bloody Monk, he hadn’t had a weapon that suited him and was thinking of finding a famed instrument to use. Hearing Handsome Fatty Wang’s words, he was intrigued by the New Pavilion Marquis.

”However, Young Ye, don’t blame me for not warning you. You better not take this New Pavilion Marquis!” said Handsome Fatty Wang.

”Why?” Ye Qing asked, puzzled.

”As far as I know, the previous owners of the New Pavilion Marquis all came to a bad end. It’s a sword that brings misfortune to its master. Therefore, although the New Pavilion Marquis is powerful, it’s considered an ominous item, just like the Demon Blade Muramasa of Japan,” said Handsome Fatty Wang.

”Is there really such a saying?” Ye Qing frowned slightly and eventually put the New Pavilion Marquis back. He had heard Helian Tiehua talk about the Demon Blade Muramasa. Such sinister tales made Ye Qing cautious, and he realized it’s wise to be vigilant.

”In that case, I’ll use this Chengying Sword!” Ye Qing picked up the Chengying Sword nearby and drew it from the sheath, but to his astonishment, he saw no blade, only a hilt in his hand.

”What’s going on?” Ye Qing couldn’t help but wonder.

”Look down!” Handsome Fatty Wang said.

Ye Qing looked down, and under the moonlight, his shadow stretched across the ground. In the shadow’s hand was a shadow of a longsword, a complete longsword, not just a hilt.

Ye Qing was taken aback and quickly looked up at his hand, which still held only a hilt. Looking down again, the ground still showed a longsword. He was stunned.

What was going on? Why couldn’t he see the blade in his hand, but there was a longsword shadow on the ground?

”Strange, right?” Handsome Fatty Wang chuckled and said, ”I sold this Chengying Sword to the South Ridge Sect. When I got this sword, I was just as puzzled as you are, thinking I had seen a ghost. Later, after getting that book about famed instruments, I understood. Young Ye, if you want to see the real appearance of this Chengying Sword, turn around and place the sword in the shadow.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing immediately turned around, placing the longsword in his hand in a position where it was out of the light. This time, the longsword in his hand finally revealed its form—a slender longsword, narrower and smaller than usual ones. However, it was extraordinarily sharp and clear that it was not just any ordinary weapon!

”What’s this about?” Ye Qing asked, puzzled.

”Why do you think it’s called the Chengying Sword?” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”Chengying Sword, as the name suggests, means you can only see its shadow, not the blade itself. It is said this sword is made of extremely unique materials. When exposed to light, it cannot reflect and so becomes invisible. But the shadow remains, and as you can only see the shadow and not the sword, it’s called the Chengying Sword. However, when it’s not directly exposed to light, you can see the complete sword.”

”I see!” Ye Qing realized, looking at the Chengying Sword in his hand, he couldn’t help but marvel at the ancient craftsmanship of creating famed instruments. It truly was divine!

”This Chengying Sword ranks tenth among the Ten Famous Swords of ancient times. To be honest, its power isn’t outstanding among famed instruments and is not even as good as the Fire Blade Sword,” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”However, this sword ranks far above the Fire Blade Sword. Do you know why?”
