Urban Martial Saint

Watching the woman return to the small building, Ye Qing also stealthily emerged from behind the rock garden. This time, he didn’t enter that small building again but quietly slipped into a more secluded pavilion nearby.

The pavilion originally had people in it. But after Ye Qing’s recent actions, there was now no one here; all the guards went out to search for Ye Qing.

Ye Qing hid in an unoccupied room and sent a message to Huangfu Ziyu using his phone, telling her to go a bit further to avoid attracting the search from the South Ridge Sect people. Afterward, he quietly slipped into the courtyard, grabbed a solitary guard, and directly abducted him into this pavilion.

The guard initially resisted, but after being punched in the chest by Ye Qing, he instantly became obedient. Seeing Ye Qing, his eyes were full of horror, evidently encountering such a situation for the first time.

”Answer a few questions for me, and I’ll spare your life. Otherwise, I’ll kill you first!” Ye Qing said in a low voice.

The guard dared not disagree and nodded repeatedly. Ye Qing slowly let go, and the guard indeed remained obedient, not daring to make a sound, only looking at Ye Qing in terror.

Even though the guard was so obedient, Ye Qing still didn’t dare relax. His thumb pressed against an acupoint on the guard’s left ribs. With no force, the guard felt nothing. But with a press, the guard’s chest would lose its strength, making it impossible to shout; everything was under Ye Qing’s control.

”I ask you, what exactly is the purpose of the South Ridge Sect acquiring so many rare weapons?” Ye Qing asked in a deep voice.

”To…sell…” the guard replied tremblingly.

”Sell?” Ye Qing was surprised: ”Sell to whom?”

”Several…several martial arts families, they all buy…buy rare weapons from our South Ridge Sect,” the guard said. ”The rare weapons we acquire, all…all are resold to them…”

”Is that so?” Ye Qing frowned, as this guard’s answer was exactly the same as Monkey’s. It seemed that the information Monkey obtained was also spread by these guards from the South Ridge Sect. However, Ye Qing didn’t believe the South Ridge Sect’s acquisition of rare weapons would be so simple.

”You just mentioned several martial arts families, which families are they?” Ye Qing asked.

”This…” The guard opened his mouth wide and finally said mournfully, ”Big brother, this…this is a secret of our sect. How…how can small fry like us know so clearly?”

Looking at the guard’s expression, Ye Qing was even more certain that the so-called martial arts families were just a cover. The South Ridge Sect’s acquisition of so many rare weapons might be for some plot.

However, for Ye Qing, the exact plot these people had was not important. What was important was that he needed many rare weapons, and it just so happened that the South Ridge Sect had many. If he could obtain a batch from them, then Ye Qing wouldn’t have to deplete the Shen Family’s collection. After all, those rare weapons were the Shen Family’s accumulation over many years; even if the Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun agreed to let him use them, he felt embarrassed to do so. Obtaining a batch through other means would certainly be the best.

”Who exactly was that woman just now?” Ye Qing asked in a deep voice, ”And what exactly is that Dragon-Slaying Dagger of hers? How can it automatically attack people?”

”That woman is…is the daughter of our Grand Sect Master. Her Dragon-Slaying Dagger is…is a famed instrument the Grand Sect Master acquired years ago,” the guard said in a low voice. ”The most powerful aspect of this famed instrument is not how sharp it is but that it forms its own formation. It’s said to be left by a Taoist Sect high master eight hundred years ago, wrapped with thirteen threads of Heavenly Silkworm Silk, arranged according to the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams positions. Each Heavenly Silkworm Silk thread is mutually connected, one touch moves it all. When a person is inside, once the Dragon-Slaying Dagger is triggered, it will endlessly attack until the person is slain.”

”Endlessly attack?” Ye Qing was surprised: ”How is that possible?”

”Indeed, it’s like that. I’ve seen it with my own eyes before. The Seventh Sect Leader almost got killed by the Dragon-Slaying Dagger when he entered that web of silks,” the guard said. ”The Grand Sect Master says the Dragon-Slaying Dagger is so powerful mainly because of the positions of those thirteen threads of Heavenly Silkworm Silk. These thirteen threads must be wrapped according to the positions left by the Taoist Sect high master, without an inch of mistake. However, if this Dragon-Slaying Dagger is set up properly, its power is terrifyingly significant. Once a person enters it, as long as the dagger is triggered, the thirteen threads will tug at each other, leading the Dragon-Slaying Dagger to attack. During this attack, whether you dodge or block, as long as the dagger is met with force, it’s like being triggered again. This way, the Dragon-Slaying Dagger will keep attacking endlessly!”

”Is there really such a thing?” Ye Qing gasped, thinking according to the guard’s explanation, it might really be possible. However, the position of those thirteen threads of Heavenly Silkworm Silk must be arranged with such precision to achieve this. The person who designed this Dragon-Slaying Dagger must have been an extraordinary master; otherwise, how could they design such a miraculous Dragon-Slaying Dagger?

The guard lowered his head, looking at Ye Qing. Seeing Ye Qing silent, he cautiously said, ”Big brother, I’ve honestly answered your questions; can you…can you let me go now?”

”I haven’t finished asking yet, why are you in such a hurry to leave!” Ye Qing said in a deep voice, ”I asked you, just now those few people said that recent events in Bei Wu City are unusual, what do they mean by that?”

”Well, mainly in recent days, the market in Bei Wu City has somehow suddenly seen a surge in the sale of famed instruments. You know, these famed instruments are quite rare themselves. Even our South Ridge Sect, controlling seventy percent of Huaxia’s underground antique trade in Bei Wu City, only receives around twenty such items each year. Yet, in just these few days, more than a dozen famed instruments have appeared in the market.” The guard paused, then said, ”So, several sect leaders suspect there’s a problem here. They’re tightening the investigation to see who’s behind the scenes causing trouble.”

”So that’s what’s going on.” Ye Qing suddenly understood, though he’d heard about this from the Monkey before. But he didn’t expect even the South Ridge Sect to be taking it seriously. This means that the sect’s grasp over famed instruments is indeed very strong, which further deepens Ye Qing’s suspicion of them. Their control over famed instruments even exceeds that of other major powers, indicating their motives aren’t just about making money.

At this moment, a commotion arose in the courtyard. Ye Qing looked up and saw several cars speeding into the courtyard, and several elders stepped out.

”They’re... the sect leaders have returned...” the guard said cautiously.

Ye Qing’s eyes lit up. With these people back, it would be easier for him to get the information he wanted.

”Good!” With a glance at the guard, Ye Qing suddenly pressed a spot on the back of the guard’s head. The guard had no time to react and slowly slumped to the ground, falling into a sleeping stupor.

Ye Qing struck his Coma Acupoint; this would make him sleep for at least a dozen hours before waking up. Ye Qing dragged him to a hidden spot and changed into his clothes, then discreetly slipped out of the pavilion, blending into the crowd amidst the chaos.

South Ridge Sect has many guards, all dressed the same, making it hard to distinguish them. Moreover, at night, under the cover of darkness, Ye Qing’s change of clothes went unnoticed.

During the confusion, Ye Qing tailed the sect leaders, following them to the small building where the lady resided. Now, more guards surrounded the building, keeping a tight watch. Apparently, the Grand Sect Master’s daughter holds a high status within the South Ridge Sect.

”How is it?” An elder leading the group approached, looking at the guards, and asked in a deep voice, ”Is the young lady all right?”

The leading guard quickly replied, ”Third Sect Master, the young lady is safe. The little thief couldn’t harm her!”

”As long as the young lady wasn’t harmed!” The Third Sect Master nodded with satisfaction and said sternly, ”You guys better keep a close watch. Even if the young lady loses a single hair, big brother won’t spare you!”

”Yes!” The guards replied quickly, their voices trembling, indicating their great fear of the Grand Sect Master.

The sect leaders didn’t bother with them and went straight into the building. Ye Qing initially wanted to follow inside, but seeing their followers stopping at the entrance, he couldn’t go any further. After all, entering at this moment would surely arouse suspicion.

Fortunately, the sect leaders didn’t stay in the building for long and soon came out.

”Watch this place carefully. If anyone sneaks in again, watch your heads!” The Third Sect Master scolded the guards again before leading the other sect leaders towards the central building.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ye Qing immediately followed, closely tailing the sect leaders into the building.

The sect leaders never expected that there were impostors among the guards behind them. In their view, the person who had entered earlier must have already fled. After all, with such an incident, the entire estate was on lockdown, and nobody would dare return at this time.

Ye Qing followed them into the pavilion but couldn’t get inside the room as their followers stopped at the entrance, allowing only the sect leaders to enter. This made Ye Qing a bit anxious; if he couldn’t get inside, his visit would be in vain, unable to hear any valuable information.

”Hey, what are you doing here?” Just as Ye Qing was worrying, a man looked at him coldly and said, ”Aren’t you supposed to be looking for the person who just came in? Coming here, are you trying to slack off?”

Ye Qing was startled, glancing at the others, who also looked at him with the same eyes. Suddenly Ye Qing realized, of course, these people were personal guards of the sect leaders. His current identity was merely that of a guard of the estate, how could he stand together with them?
