Urban Martial Saint

Facing Huangfu Ziyu’s words, Helian Tiehua shook his head with a wry smile, and said, ”Niece Huangfu, you can’t say that. Regardless of the circumstances, the Huangfu Household was once one of the Seven Great Families that established the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance. The Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance are part of the Huangfu Household’s legacy. The Huangfu Household, at any time, is the master of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance. Moreover, the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility. Now that you have taken the Sun Shooting Bow, if you don’t step up to fight for the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, they might completely cease to exist this time. Niece Huangfu, even if your brother Huangfu were alive, he wouldn’t watch the ancestors’ legacy be destroyed, would he? Failing to preserve the ancestral legacy, that’s truly unfilial!”

Huangfu Ziyu, after all, has the temperament of a young woman, and the words she just said were also out of spite. Of course, she would not give up this opportunity, because she must utilize the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance to battle the Twelve Green Halls and avenge the past grievances of the Huangfu Household. Now that the opportunity has come, how could she let it slip away?

”Uncle Helian, you think our Huangfu Household is the master of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, but others may not think so.” Huangfu Ziyu said, ”Moreover, many among them have always been hostile to our Huangfu Household. Hmph, I am not a member of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance; to kill them, it would be easy. But now you insist that I am a member of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, doesn’t that mean I can’t kill them?”

”Niece Huangfu, don’t worry!” Helian Tiehua said, ”From now on, you will be the Right Envoy of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, and also the master of the Seven Families. No matter who it is, if they dare to offend you, it would be a breach of the hierarchy and would be dealt with according to the rules of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance.”

”Uncle Helian, I will trust you this time!” Huangfu Ziyu smiled and said, ”I hope that when I use the rules of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance to punish these people, you won’t cover for them!”

Helian Tiehua smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, the affairs of the Seven Families are not for me to interfere with. Whatever you want to do, whatever you should do, no one can stop you!”

”That’s good!” Huangfu Ziyu smiled and looked at Ye Qing beside her, and said, ”Let’s go, let’s first go back and avenge you. When you were unconscious, the people of the Seven Great Families bullied you quite a bit; we can’t let them off!”

”Forget it.” Ye Qing shook his head, holding Huangfu Ziyu back, and said, ”From now on, you’ll be the family head of the Seven Families, in charge of the entire Seven Families. There’s no need to create conflict with them over such minor matters. Many people already do not respect you; if you keep doing this, it would be even harder to lead the Seven Families. At that time, if most people pretend to obey you while actually disregarding you, being the family head won’t be comfortable either. I think, with these people, either ignore them for now or just take their lives directly to avoid future troubles!”

Helian Tiehua couldn’t help but be startled at Ye Qing’s words, stared at Ye Qing for a while, and then couldn’t help but laugh, ”Ye Qing, you’ve changed!”

”Having experienced so much, it’s impossible not to change.” Ye Qing sighed and said. Previously, when he killed Huang Yidao in the external tomb, this didn’t fit his past character. Having gone through so much, Ye Qing also understood a principle, that when weeding, it should be eradicated thoroughly!

”I think Ye Qing is absolutely right!” Huangfu Ziyu held Ye Qing’s hand and said, ”Either don’t take action and pretend nothing happened, or take action and leave no survivors.”

As they couldn’t find the map here, everyone returned to the manor first. Inside the manor, the main members of the Seven Families were now gathered in the large conference room, waiting for Helian Tiehua and the others to return.

When Ye Qing and the others hadn’t arrived yet, it was obvious that the members of the Seven Families were discussing something animatedly. However, once Helian Tiehua and the others walked into the large conference room, everyone suddenly became silent, and all eyes were fixed on Huangfu Ziyu, especially on the Sun Shooting Bow in her hands.

Huangfu Ziyu didn’t even glance at the people from the Seven Families directly, but went straight to the main seat and sat down, with even Helian Tiehua sitting beside her. There was no choice; this was the conference room of the Seven Families. Although Helian Tiehua had a high status, he was not a family head of the Seven Families; the main seat was reserved for the family head of the Seven Families.

When the crowd saw Huangfu Ziyu sitting in the main seat, there was obvious commotion, but in the end, no one dared to say a word. There was no helping it, as Huangfu Ziyu was holding the Sun Shooting Bow, which granted her absolute power. Moreover, according to the ancestral teachings, any member of the Seven Families who acquired the Sun Shooting Bow would become the family head of the Seven Families; this was a teaching left by the ancestors, and they had no choice but to abide by it.

As Huangfu Ziyu sat in the main seat, she casually glanced at the Patriarch of the Bai Family sitting next to her and said, ”Move aside a bit.”

”What?” The Patriarch of the Bai Family was surprised, not understanding for a moment what Huangfu Ziyu meant.

”I’m telling you to move aside!” Huangfu Ziyu said sternly.

The Patriarch of the Bai Family was immediately filled with anger. He held a not low status among the Seven Families, and sitting here was natural. For Huangfu Ziyu to now ask him to move back, wasn’t it clearly showing him no respect? How could he swallow this?

If it were according to his previous character, he would have surely lost his temper by now. However, thinking about the earlier incident where Huangfu Ziyu used the Sun Shooting Bow to aim at the Patriarch of the Zhou Family, he had no choice but to endure, lifting his chair to move back a bit.

Huangfu Ziyu frowned and said, ”I told you to move back yourself, who told you to move the chair?”

”What does this mean?” The Patriarch of the Bai Family frowned and said, ”Niece Huangfu, you…”

”Wait a moment!” Huangfu Ziyu interrupted him directly and said, ”Bai Yingqi, do you truly not know the ancestral teachings left by our forefathers? Or do you look down on the family head of the Seven Families?”

”What… what’s happening?” Bai Family Patriarch Bai Yingqi hesitated for a moment, feeling angry at being reproached by Huangfu Ziyu, yet he dared not argue with her.

”According to the ancestor’s legacy, whoever possesses the Sun Shooting Bow is the head of the Seven Families. As the head of the Seven Families, you show no respect for me and dare to address me so boldly?” Huangfu Ziyu coldly eyed Bai Yingqi, speaking in a low voice, ”Hmph, do you not know the ancestor’s teachings, or do you simply despise me as the Family Head?”

Bai Yingqi was immediately at a loss for words. It was obvious that Huangfu Ziyu was upset with the way he addressed Niece Huangfu. Actually, this matter could be big or small, but if Huangfu Ziyu insisted on pursuing it, he had no recourse, especially when she currently held the advantage.

”I indeed... this is my oversight...” Bai Yingqi replied awkwardly, ”Family Head, I wonder if my sitting here is bothering you in some way? Why insist on pushing me away? Isn’t this somewhat against protocol?”

”You’re not bothering me, but haven’t you noticed Ye Qing has been standing next to us all this time?” Huangfu Ziyu replied.

Bai Yingqi’s expression turned cold, speaking in a deep voice, ”In other words, Family Head, you are asking me to give up my seat to Ye Qing?”

”Exactly!” Huangfu Ziyu responded decisively, catching Helian Tiehua beside her too late to intervene.

Following those words, the crowd erupted in an uproar, members of the Seven Families all looked disapprovingly at Huangfu Ziyu and Ye Qing. Especially those from the Zhou Family; those who previously opposed Huangfu Ziyu were now overtly angry as she spoke on Ye Qing’s behalf in public.

”General Helian, may I ask…” Zhou Family Patriarch Zhou Junliang looked at Helian Tiehua, ”When did Ye Qing become one of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance? Even within Hong Alliance, many lack the qualification to attend internal meetings like this; how did an outsider get in?”

”Indeed, an outsider got in, which could be overlooked. But now, asking the Bai Family Patriarch to yield a seat for him, humph, Patriarch Huangfu, as the overall head of the Seven Families, you aren’t considering the families’ interests, but instead aiding an outsider, isn’t this unreasonable?”

”She’s simply unqualified to be the head of the Seven Families!”

”To be the head of the Seven Families, first, drive that Ye fellow out!”

”Driving him out won’t suffice; he’s been here so long, hearing so many of our secrets—he must be killed!”

”Yes, Patriarch Huangfu, if you want to be the overall head, first kill Ye Qing. Kill him, and we will follow your lead!”

Members of the Seven Families argued fervently, venting their dissatisfaction with Huangfu Ziyu.

Huangfu Ziyu maintained a calm demeanor, waiting for the clamor to subside before she unstrapped the Sun Shooting Bow from her back and began playing with it.

Faced with the Sun Shooting Bow, the crowd instantly fell silent, unwilling to become targets of Huangfu Ziyu wielding it. However, anger visibly deepened in their expressions.

Huangfu Ziyu’s gaze swept across everyone present, speaking loudly, ”Firstly, let me clarify that Ye Qing is not an outsider; he is my husband, Huangfu Ziyu’s husband!”

Ye Qing, standing nearby, had never expected Huangfu Ziyu to make such a declaration, feeling a rush of excitement. Though their relationship was long established, making such a bold public announcement was unprecedented, especially coming from Huangfu Ziyu—showing her heartfelt affection for him.

Her words caused another stir in the room, but as Huangfu Ziyu impatiently drew the bowstring, all discussions abruptly ceased, everyone sitting upright and silent, not daring to utter a word.

Huangfu Ziyu spoke coldly, ”Now, I want to ask, as the overall head of the Seven Families, does my husband have the right to sit here?”

The crowd exchanged glances, unsure how to respond. In truth, they wished to deny it, but with Huangfu Ziyu holding the Sun Shooting Bow, its bowstring drawn tight, who dared deny her? Who dared endure the pressure of that bow?

”I think Patriarch Huangfu is completely right,” Helian Tiehua stated, ”You’ve all witnessed the bond between Ye Qing and Patriarch Huangfu; their marriage poses no issues. Since Ye Qing is the son-in-law of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, naturally, he’s entitled to sit here.”
