Urban Martial Saint

Lin Zhen Nan originally thought Ye Qing was dissatisfied with Shen Baichuan and wanted him to drive Baichuan away, but he didn’t expect Ye Qing to say such a thing.

Lin Zhen Nan was slightly startled and couldn’t help but feel inwardly moved by Ye Qing’s magnanimity.

”To let him protect Huayu, can it really be done?” Lin Zhen Nan asked.

”It’s safer this way!” Ye Qing nodded in response. Although he had always disliked Shen Baichuan, he had to admit that Baichuan’s strength was not weak. Although not as strong as the Netherworld Scholar, with him protecting Lin Huayu, there was an added measure of safety.

Moreover, Shen Baichuan was from the Shen Family, Lin Huayu’s cousin. In good conscience, he would not betray Huayu. And tomorrow, the Shen Family members would enter Shenchuan City. Once the Shen Family arrived, Lin Huayu would be completely safe!

Lin Zhen Nan nodded in agreement, now putting the safety of his daughter first, willing to ignore other matters.

Ye Qing waited outside the operating room for nearly an hour until the surgery was finally over. Of the two most severely injured, one was saved, but the other didn’t make it. This news plunged Ye Qing into silence, while his brothers beside him were filled with uncontrollable anger.

After a long while, he let out a deep sigh and said to Black Bear, ”Xiong Zi, take care of his funeral arrangements properly. Does he have any family? Take care of them all!”

Black Bear nodded and replied, ”Captain, don’t worry, I’ll handle everything!”

Ye Qing looked at the brother covered with a white cloth in the surgery room, slowly clenched his fists, and then turned to slowly leave.

By the time he returned to Tian Sheng, it was already night. Sitting in his office, every time Ye Qing remembered the events of the day, he was filled with uncontrollable anger. That Netherworld Scholar had dared to strike such a cruel blow to these unarmed men, sparking a true murderous intent in Ye Qing!

However, while Ye Qing was filled with rage, he also understood the gap in strength between himself and the Netherworld Scholar. This was the first time Ye Qing felt such a great sense of helplessness due to the disparity in strength, and the first time he felt such a strong desire to improve his own power!

But with all the meridians in his body blocked, even if Ye Qing wanted to enhance his strength, could he actually do it?

Ye Qing leaned back in his chair, quietly recalling the skills of that man today. After a moment of silence, he suddenly stood up and took out a dagger from the bottom drawer. His strength was far inferior to that man’s; carrying a dagger for self-defense seemed like a good idea.

At that time, outside Tian Sheng, several people approached as well. One of them was the Netherworld Scholar. His facial wound had already been bandaged, but the resentment in his eyes had intensified. He had learned that his facial injury would leave a scar, essentially ruining his face, and one could imagine how furious he felt.

Upon hearing the words ”facial disfigurement,” the Netherworld Scholar instantly killed the doctor, then headed straight for Tian Sheng, set on avenging himself by killing Ye Qing.

The Netherworld Scholar didn’t realize that an old man and a blind girl were following him. They weren’t far behind him, yet with his level of alertness, he didn’t notice anyone behind him, heading for Tian Sheng with ferocity.

The old man and the girl had followed him for a day, and seeing him enter Tian Sheng, they understood what he intended to do. As the Netherworld Scholar was about to enter Tian Sheng, the old man reached into his pocket and pulled out a small stone no larger than a soybean, preparing to flick it at the Netherworld Scholar. But just as he held the stone ready in hand, he suddenly stopped and walked into an alley with the girl.

Not long after the two disappeared, two men emerged around the corner. Both were dressed shabbily, with sleazy expressions. However, one had the hair of a Taoist, and the other had the perennial middle-parted hairstyle.

These two were Old Wang Ba and the Netherworld Taoist. They seemed to have had a few drinks, leaning on each other and bragging as they made their way to Tian Sheng.

”Still going to that place?” the Netherworld Taoist murmured, looking at Tian Sheng, ”They don’t even plan to welcome us. Not offering drinks when we go in, I think we better not go to such a rotten place!”

”No need, no need,” Old Wang Ba grabbed the Netherworld Taoist, saying, ”I just got a VIP card this morning. With this card, we can get anything we want in there. Just follow me confidently, and watch how I’ll help you strut and fly!”

”VIP card?” The Netherworld Taoist’s spirits lifted, and he followed Old Wang Ba unsteadily into Tian Sheng.

The old man watched them enter from the darkness and smiled slightly, saying, ”Since they’re here, I can take a break.”

”Grandfather, aren’t you going to protect Ye now?” the girl asked curiously.

The old man laughed, ”Don’t worry, Ye Qing will be fine!”

Old Wang Ba entered Tian Sheng with the Netherworld Taoist, showing the VIP card given by Ye Qing, and Mad Dog immediately took them to the private room on the second floor. Ye Qing had instructed that this old fellow should be directly taken up to the private room to avoid affecting business downstairs. Old Wang Ba’s visually striking appearance would scare away the customers if left in the main hall.

Mad Dog’s arrangement pleased Old Wang Ba, who sat leisurely on the sofa and asked, ”Is Little Ye around here?”

”Big Brother just came back and is in his office now,” Mad Dog replied.

”Oh, then have him come down and have a drink with us!” Old Wang Ba waved the VIP card in his hand, saying, ”I’m treating!”

Mad Dog looked at the VIP card in Old Wang Ba’s hand and thought to himself, ”With that card, you don’t even need to pay, so what kind of treat is this?”

Although that was what he thought, he did not let it show on his face. He said, ”Big Brother probably can’t come down; he’s been injured a bit and it’s not convenient for him right now.”

”Injured? What happened?” Old Wang Ba asked in surprise.

Mad Dog didn’t want to waste words with him and waved his hand, ”I don’t know the specifics, but Big Brother can’t move around easily right now!”

”What? Let’s go, I need to see this for myself!” Old Wang Ba immediately perked up and, with the Netherworld Taoist, rushed upstairs.

”Eighth Master, Eighth Master...” Mad Dog tried to stop him, but he couldn’t hold back the old man. He could only watch as he took the Netherworld Taoist upstairs.

As soon as they reached the upstairs corridor, both men immediately felt that something was not right. Three men lay collapsed in the hall, all Ye Qing’s underlings. And from Ye Qing’s room, bursts of fighting could be heard intermittently, causing both men to be taken aback.

”Damn it, what’s going on?” Old Wang Ba asked, surprised.

The Netherworld Taoist frowned slightly and said solemnly, ”It’s the Netherworld Scholar!”

”How do you know?” Old Wang Ba wondered aloud.

”His unique technique...” the Netherworld Taoist began, but he didn’t have time to say more and hurried towards Ye Qing’s office.

In the office, chaos reigned. Ye Qing, covered in blood, was entangled in a fight with the Netherworld Scholar. Although his strength was not equal to that of the Netherworld Scholar, it was not so easy for the Netherworld Scholar to kill him in a head-on battle.

The Netherworld Scholar had a wound on his left shoulder, inflicted by Ye Qing with a dagger. Blood splattered on his face made him look even more ferocious.

”You deserve to die!” the Netherworld Scholar gritted his teeth and charged at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing’s dagger had been knocked away; he was seriously injured and, seeing the Netherworld Scholar pounce, stretched out his arms to defend himself. However, the Netherworld Scholar was much stronger than him, and with one kick sent him staggering back several steps.

”What the hell are you doing?” Just then, the Netherworld Taoist burst in from the doorway, shouting loudly.

Seeing the Netherworld Taoist, the Netherworld Scholar paused, surprise in his voice, ”Is it you?”

The Netherworld Taoist ran straight in, shielding Ye Qing behind him and said, ”Netherworld Scholar, what the hell are you playing at? This Ye Qing is a friend of our Sha Men, why are you fighting with him?”

”What friend of Sha Men?” the Netherworld Scholar’s expression chilled as he said solemnly, ”I don’t care who’s friend he is. Today, he must die. Get out of my way, Taoist, or I’ll kill you too!”

The Netherworld Taoist frowned, and at that moment Old Wang Ba also rushed in. Seeing the condition inside the room, he too was taken aback.

”Damn, what’s all this mess?” Old Wang Ba asked, shocked.

”Old Wang Ba? You’re here too!” the Netherworld Scholar frowned, looking from Ye Qing to Old Wang Ba and the Netherworld Taoist, his voice grave, ”You’re trying to stop me?”

”Isn’t that obvious!” Old Wang Ba glared and said, ”This kid is my underling. Netherworld Scholar, what are you trying to do? Don’t you believe I could call people to chop you up!”

Ye Qing coughed twice, lacking the strength to argue. Old Wang Ba, helping out at this crucial moment, was all well and good, but what did he mean by calling him his underling?

The Netherworld Scholar’s face turned cold as he said solemnly, ”I don’t care about your underling or not. Today, this man must die. Either step aside or die with him!”

”To hell with you, how dare you speak to me like that?” Old Wang Ba’s eyes widened as he said, ”Netherworld Scholar you bastard, are you sick of living?”

”Shut up!” The Netherworld Scholar barked, not paying any attention to Old Wang Ba, just staring coldly at the Netherworld Taoist, ”You thieving Taoist, we’ve never had any dealings. It’s best you mind your own business or I’ll kill you too!”

The Netherworld Taoist snorted coldly, ”You want to kill me? Do you think you have what it takes?”

”Your little Blinding Method might fool others, but it won’t fool me!” the Netherworld Scholar said sternly, ”I’ll say it again, move, or I’ll kill you too!”

”Then let’s see you try!” the Netherworld Taoist roared and suddenly put his hands together, muttering something under his breath but no one could tell what.

The Netherworld Scholar frowned, well aware of the Netherworld Taoist’s capabilities. The man was skilled at trickery and illusion, though it was all just deceptive Blinding Method to fool others. Nonetheless, the Netherworld Scholar did not dare take the Netherworld Taoist lightly, for one could easily be deceived if care was not taken.

The Netherworld Taoist muttered a few words and then made a sweeping gesture with his hands, plunging the room into darkness. At the same time, two shadows darted toward the window, appearing to be preparing to jump out and leave.
