Urban Martial Saint

Shenchuan City, it took a whole day for Li Lianshan’s subordinates to track down the group that had ambushed and attacked Ye Qing and Li Lianshan last time.

This group was actually a coalition of confidants of Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan. They had been looking for a way to take revenge on Ye Qing and Li Lianshan. However, they were fully aware that their strength was no match for Ye Qing and his associates, so they had been planning without taking action.

But this time, as Ye Qing consolidated the forces of Shenchuan City by selling shares of Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens, he gathered all the scattered forces together. Although they were still cooperating for the time being, their power was far inferior to that of Ye Qing and Li Lianshan. Therefore, without a doubt, it wouldn’t be long before Ye Qing and Li Lianshan would completely control the underground forces of Shenchuan City.

Once Ye Qing and Li Lianshan had full control over the underground forces of Shenchuan City, these people would no longer have any chance for revenge. That’s why they carried out their plan in advance, desperately trying to turn the tables by capturing Mao Mao and the old lady, threatening Li Lianshan, and resulting in the loss of one of his arms.

It must be said that their plan was very meticulous and completely unexpected; no one thought they would make a move at that time. If it were not for Ye Qing’s formidable strength, who managed to protect Li Lianshan, they likely would have both died there.

Most of the captured subordinates surrendered, but the few leaders, who were confidants of Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan, would never surrender. Ye Qing simply interrogated them and left the handling of these people to Li Lianshan. And Li Lianshan would certainly not be lenient with them, as they remained a lurking danger. He had only lost an arm this time; next time, he might not be so lucky. So, he eliminated all of these enemies, eradicating the threat once and for all!

Although Li Lianshan didn’t say much outwardly, Ye Qing could see that the ambush had a significant impact on him. At the very least, his methods had become much tougher than before. After all, to be a local boss, one must have tough methods. Shangguan Tian, Li Wenyuan, and the Tiger King, each had more ruthless methods than the last, which led to their success. And now, for Li Lianshan to become the underground king of Shenchuan City, he needed to be even more dominant than them!

Fortunately, Li Lianshan wasn’t too distraught over the loss of his arm; instead, he kept comforting Ye Qing. Losing an arm for the position of boss was already a stroke of great fortune. To climb the ladder, one must pay a heavy price. The fact that he was in such a high position without having lost his life was already quite an achievement!

Seeing Li Lianshan’s optimism alleviated some of the knot in Ye Qing’s heart. He left some people to protect Li Lianshan in the hospital and went back to handle other matters.

During that day in the hospital, all those who had bought the shares from them came to visit Li Lianshan. While offering their sympathies, they also brought their down payments, hoping that Ye Qing would quickly divide the shares of those two establishments. However, Ye Qing had essentially been bluffing, and now he needed Zhao Chengshuang’s help to acquire those two venues.

To placate these twenty partners, Ye Qing accepted their down payments and prepared to distribute the twenty venues to them first. With Li Lianshan in the hospital, these matters naturally had to be handled by Ye Qing himself.

At half-past seven in the evening, the twenty individuals gathered at Ye Qing’s Tian Sheng, all waiting there for Ye Qing’s return. They had received the news that Ye Qing would first divide the twenty venues among them and were naturally thrilled, discussing what kind of establishments Ye Qing and Li Lianshan would offer.

Ye Qing hurried back to Tian Sheng just as they were discussing fervently. Da Fei was there, entertaining them. Now that Da Fei had made a name for himself in Shenchuan City and being one of Ye Qing’s few brothers, these so-called bosses were very respectful to him. Most of the hospitality matters were managed by Da Fei when Ye Qing was not around, and he was almost capable of standing on his own now.

Of course, the management of the venues would still be entrusted to Lin Mengjie. Da Fei was suitable for interpersonal relationships, while Lin Mengjie was more knowledgeable about business operations. With both of them around, Ye Qing hardly needed to worry about anything else and could devote all his energy to the orphanage.

When Ye Qing arrived, the twenty people immediately stood up, hurriedly welcoming Ye Qing into the conference room. They had been anxiously waiting, and seeing Ye Qing return, everyone was extremely excited.

After exchanging pleasantries with everyone, Ye Qing finally took the main seat. Da Fei came over, handed him two pieces of paper, and whispered, ”Eldest Brother, Manager Lin has already outlined the specific distribution of the twenty venues, take a look.”

Ye Qing took the papers and did not look at them; he trusted Lin Mengjie’s work.

”Sorry to have kept all of you waiting. My apologies!” Ye Qing looked at everyone and said, ”The main reason for asking everyone here today is to allocate the twenty venues that I promised you all yesterday.”

Everyone was very excited. Although they all told Ye Qing not to rush, the look they gave him was filled with eagerness. The venues they currently held weren’t very profitable, so the prospect of getting a lucrative venue from Ye Qing had them all looking forward with great anticipation.

Ye Qing didn’t waste any time with small talk and simply read out the allocation plan written by Lin Mengjie. After hearing Ye Qing’s distribution, no one raised any objections. It was clear that they were very satisfied with Lin Mengjie’s allocation plan.

Indeed, Lin Mengjie had put a lot of preparatory work into this allocation plan. She had first investigated the expectations of these twenty bosses and then set an average. She selected twenty venues that were similar in various aspects and allocated them based on the locations of these twenty people. There was no favoritism in the allocation plan - the size and customer flow of the twenty venues were about the same, making the distribution fair, which was why there were no objections from the group.

”Since no one has any objections to this allocation plan, I’ll let Da Fei lead everyone to take over these venues now. If anyone is unsatisfied, you can raise it with Da Fei or contact me directly!” Ye Qing looked at the crowd and said, ”We are all partners here; we can discuss anything.”

Everyone expressed that they had no objections, said goodbye to Ye Qing, and followed Da Fei to take over the venues. Ye Qing’s decisive and swift actions thrilled them. They hadn’t expected to have the venues in their hands by tonight, which was a tangible benefit indeed.

After seeing them off, Ye Qing went straight back to his office, where Zhao Chengshuang had already been waiting. Upon seeing Ye Qing enter, Zhao Chengshuang immediately asked, ”How is Old Li doing?”

”He woke up once, and there’s nothing wrong with him.” Ye Qing sat down at his desk and said, ”How about the matter I discussed with you this afternoon?”

Zhao Chengshuang sighed and replied, ”The Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens are the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang’s most profitable businesses. The auction is certain. Actually, I had been thinking about this before, and having you manage these venues is the best option. However, the Ding Family has been pressing down on this matter, not allowing you and Old Li to take over these two venues, so it never happened!”

Ye Qing frowned slightly. The truth behind Tie Yongwen’s death had already come to light. In reality, Tie Yongwen’s demise was the result of Ding Shaoyan’s collusion with outsiders. Yet the Ding Family and Xingyi School were still very dissatisfied with him, giving him trouble at every turn, which made Ye Qing quite angry. But he was powerless; although Elder Master Ding had died, the influence that the Ding Family had accumulated over the years in Shenchuan City wasn’t going to crumble so easily. If the Ding Family really wanted to target him, things would indeed be difficult!

Seeing Ye Qing’s expression, Zhao Chengshuang immediately smiled and said, ”But now, there’s no issue!”

”What?” Ye Qing said with surprise, ”Why isn’t there an issue now?”

”How to say this... it’s like the saying goes, ’Commit too many injustices and you’ll bring about your own destruction,’” Zhao Chengshuang said with a kind of malicious satisfaction. ”The Ding Family members, living under Elder Master Ding’s protection for all these years, are all high-and-mighty, having made numerous enemies. Of course, when Elder Master Ding was around, no one dared to provoke them. But now that Elder Master Ding is gone, some people have started targeting them. Several Ding Family members in high positions have been taken away for investigation, including that Deputy Director from our end. Humph, even if the investigation doesn’t reveal anything concrete, they won’t even think about climbing up the ranks ever again. The current Ding Family is a mess, running around trying to pull connections and looking for Elder Master Ding’s old comrades for help, so they don’t have the time to worry about your matters!”

Ye Qing nodded slowly. He had seen for himself how unruly the Ding Family members could be. It was quite normal for them to have made enemies outside their circle. The Ding Family had two main pillars of support: one was Tie Yongwen, who ensured that no one dared to touch the Ding Family members. But Tie Yongwen was killed in a scheme hatched by Ding Shaoyan, so now the Ding Family had lost any deterrent power. The other pillar was Elder Master Ding, who was the foundation of the Ding Family and had indirectly been angered to death by Ding Shaoyan.

Without these two pillars, the fate of the Ding Family was predictable. The desire to target them was just a matter of time; Ye Qing just hadn’t expected it to come so soon. It appeared that the old saying was true: ”When the wall falls, everyone pushes.”

”The matter of auctioning these two venues has already been reported to the municipal bureau, and it’s definitely not a problem. Moreover, from what I see, absolutely no one in Shenchuan City can compete with you for them, so you don’t have to worry about it!” Zhao Chengshuang patted Ye Qing on the shoulder and said, ”However, the orphanage issue is still somewhat troublesome. The provincial authorities have started to take notice of this matter. Even if the Ding Family collapses, the province will still need to handle this issue.”
