Urban Martial Saint

Zhao Chengshuang looked at Ye Qing in astonishment. Ye Qing’s analysis had always been very organized, leaving him speechless with no retort. Moreover, Ye Qing was incredibly detailed in his observations and rich in associations, truly possessing a detective’s mind. Most crucially, Ye Qing’s analyses were generally faultless, which made him admire Ye Qing tremendously!

”Based on what you said, then it must be this car!” Zhao Chengshuang exclaimed urgently.

Ye Qing said, ”I am ninety percent sure. Once the surveillance information from your side comes through, I can be certain!”

”How can you be certain?” Zhao Chengshuang asked curiously. ”Why must we wait for the surveillance information?”

Ye Qing glanced at him and said, ”It mainly depends on how long the car stayed on this stretch of road. Think about it, if they came here to do something, they would definitely have to leave the car here in advance. If that car stayed here long enough, wouldn’t everything fall into place?”

”Damn, you’re absolutely right!” Zhao Chengshuang slapped his thigh and hurriedly said, ”Bastards, these bastards, even checking surveillance is this difficult, I’ll hurry them up!”

As Zhao Chengshuang spoke, he ran to the side and started making a phone call, Ye Qing could hear him shouting, ”How do you guys work at the traffic police department? Is it so hard just to check a car? Not enough manpower? Get everyone to drop what they’re doing and come help me check it. What’s the matter? What did you say? My cousin has been kidnapped, Lin Corporation’s heiress has been kidnapped, do you think it’s a big deal? Nonsense, hurry up and check. I’m telling you, if the results you find help us solve the case on time, I will personally award you medals. If you delay solving the case, I’ll be the first one to not let you off!”

Zhao Chengshuang anxiously hung up the phone, still pacing back and forth, and said to Ye Qing, ”Ye Zi, what do we do now?”

”Ye, at least arrange for a few cars to come over!” Ye Qing said helplessly, ”Once they find out, we’ll have to drive and chase them!”

Zhao Chengshuang then realized, not daring to delay, he immediately called to have cars brought over.

In less than five minutes, several police cars arrived blaring their sirens, and Ye Qing’s car was also driven over.

”Chief, we’ve found out!” At that moment, a police officer also ran over excitedly and said urgently, ”It’s true, a black Cheetah SUV drove out from Shandong Mouth about twenty-five minutes ago. Moreover, its right rear taillight is clearly broken, very visible!”

Zhao Chengshuang also immediately became alert and asked urgently, ”Then how long did this car stay on this road section?”

”According to the surveillance, this car came in at 11:03 and left at 12:07, staying here for one hour and four minutes!” the police officer paused, then said, ”This road, under normal driving speed, only takes thirteen minutes. This car stayed here way too long!”

”It’s him, damn it, he can’t escape!” Zhao Chengshuang immediately slapped the car roof and ordered, ”Immediately gather personnel, let the traffic police keep reporting the car’s location, let the SWAT team pursue first, followed by the Armed Police Force, everyone else come with me. Even if it means digging three feet into the ground, we must find this car!”

”Yes!” A group of police officers immediately responded loudly, energized. Now, it was not only a matter of achieving merit, but if they could find Lin Huayu, Lin Zhen Nan would surely reward them with money.

”Cheng Shuang, don’t get too excited!” Ye Qing walked over to stop Zhao Chengshuang and said gravely, ”Huayu is still in their hands, taking so many people over will only alarm them. If we push the kidnapper too hard and they harm Huayu, it will be troublesome!”

”Right, how could I not think of that!” Zhao Chengshuang slapped his forehead and asked urgently, ”Ye Zi, then what should we do?”

”We need to rescue Huayu first!” Ye Qing said somberly, ”I’ll go first, the rest of you follow later!”

If it had been someone else speaking, Zhao Chengshuang would not have believed it. But since it was Ye Qing speaking, he trusted him completely.

”Ye Zi, I’m leaving Huayu in your hands!” Zhao Chengshuang gripped Ye Qing’s arm excitedly and said, ”Ye Zi, Huayu is my cousin, you must find a way to rescue her no matter what!”

”Don’t worry!” Ye Qing nodded firmly at Zhao Chengshuang and said, ”No matter what, I will bring Huayu back. You coordinate with the traffic police to keep me informed of the car’s location!”

”No problem!” Zhao Chengshuang immediately called to instruct the traffic police, meanwhile, Ye Qing directly drove off the mountain road.

Just after leaving the mountain road, the information from the traffic police came through. They were now adjusting surveillance cameras everywhere, finding the locations the car had passed, and then guiding Ye Qing to find that car.

Ye Qing certainly did not dare to be negligent and followed the directions given by the traffic police. About five minutes later, the traffic police finally confirmed the last location, and the car was actually parked in a residential area in the city. And this residential area was the one where Ye Qing and Mu Qingrong used to live.

This news surprised Ye Qing; he had thought the kidnapper would take the person out of Shenchuan City. He hadn’t expected him to be so bold as to bring her into the city, and even stay in a residential area. Was this a case of artistic daring or simply reckless tactics?

Although filled with doubt, Ye Qing didn’t hesitate and drove straight to the destination. Of course, for safety, he called Black Bear and asked him to bring a group of people to help.

If the police were to go, they would definitely alert the targets. However, a few people in casual clothes wouldn’t arouse such concerns.

When Ye Qing arrived at the neighborhood, he didn’t drive in directly. Instead, he stopped at the entrance, got out, and entered the security booth. The same security guard as before was sitting inside. Seeing Ye Qing, the guard couldn’t help but be greatly surprised.

Ye Qing’s name was now well-known in Shenchuan City, and the guard had heard of him too. Honestly, when chatting with others, what he talked about most was Ye Qing, who came from this complex, boasting about how he had known Ye Qing long before. He felt he might never see Ye Qing, this important figure, again in his lifetime. Unexpectedly, this very figure had returned to this place!

The guard stared at Ye Qing dumbfounded, but Ye Qing was quite calm. He took out a cigarette, offered one to the guard and smiled, ”Busy, huh?”

”Ah... ah, Ye... Big Brother Ye...” Finally coming back to his senses, the guard accepted the cigarette with delighted surprise and hurriedly offered Ye a chair, saying, ”Big Brother Ye, you... you have time to come back?”

”Just a little matter to take care of,” Ye Qing smiled and added, ”Also, I need a small favor, is it convenient for you to help?”

”Just say it!” the guard hastened to say. ”Big Brother Ye, your business is my business. As long as I can help, I absolutely won’t hesitate!”

”Hehe...” Ye Qing smiled slightly and said, ”Thanks in advance. I wanted to ask you if you’ve seen a black Cheetah SUV here lately, license plate ending in three one seven.”

”Cheetah SUV?” The guard scratched his head and said, ”Big Brother Ye, the car you mentioned, I actually know of one. But it wasn’t seen recently, it was just today. It entered the complex at a little past nine in the morning and left around nine thirty. And just now, it came back with some damage to its taillight!”

Ye Qing’s eyes lit up, it seemed he had asked the right person and indeed found the car.

”Is the owner of that car living here? Which building and which room?” Ye Qing asked urgently.

”Usually when it comes in, the car windows are closed, I didn’t pay attention and don’t know who the owner is,” the guard said. ”But this car definitely just came today, it never appeared here before. I don’t know which room he lives in, but the car is parked under the building you used to live in, so I guess he must be living in that building!”

Ye Qing was startled again. Could it be such a coincidence? It was one thing to live in this complex, but in the very building he used to live in, what was going on?

However, there were twelve apartments in the building Ye Qing used to live in. Finding out exactly which one was not going to be an easy task.

After a moment of silence, Ye Qing looked at the guard and said, ”Could you do me another favor?”

”Big Brother Ye, look at you, being so polite!” the guard quickly said. ”If you ask, it’s no trouble at all!”

Ye Qing smiled. The guard was quite enthusiastic, and with his help, things would be much easier.

Ye Qing explained the favor he needed from the guard. After hearing him out, the guard promptly slapped his chest and said, ”So simple, leave it to me. Big Brother Ye, are you going with me, or will you wait here a bit longer?”

”Let’s go together,” Ye Qing smiled.

”Alright, come with me then!” The guard immediately left the booth, no longer concerned about the entrance. To him, helping Ye Qing was a great honor. This task alone was enough for him to boast for several more days, so why would he refuse?

The two walked to the building underneath which Ye Qing used to live, and as expected, a black Cheetah SUV was parked there. Its right rear taillight was clearly damaged. Most importantly, the license plate was exactly the one the traffic police had told Ye Qing about. Evidently, it was the car Ye Qing had been chasing.

As they walked past this car, Ye Qing carefully observed it to make sure there was no one inside before he turned his attention to the building above.

The guard reached the first floor and turned to look at Ye Qing. Ye Qing nodded at him, and without hesitation, the guard went and knocked on the first door.

After a few knocks, the door opened and a woman peered out. Seeing that it was the neighborhood’s security guard, she was surprised and asked, ”What’s the matter?”

The guard quickly said, ”Hello, I just wanted to ask if the SUV downstairs belongs to you? This gentleman’s car is blocked by that one, and it needs to be moved!”
