The Right Protector’s words were essentially a threat to Ye Qing, but was Ye Qing someone who could be easily threatened?

The more the Right Protector spoke like this, the more Ye Qing actually wanted to know.

”My life is right here. If you want it, you can take it anytime!” Ye Qing looked at the Right Protector and said solemnly, ”However, please answer the questions I just asked!”

”Hehehe...” The Right Protector suddenly sneered, his eyes flashing coldly as he sized up Ye Qing, appearing as if he was ready to strike at any moment.

Ye Qing looked proudly at him. Although he had just witnessed the skills of the Right Protector, his face showed no fear, which impressed the onlookers with his courage.

Just when the atmosphere was extremely tense, Old Wang Ba, who had been sitting at the door, suddenly stood up, knocked his dry tobacco pipe, and said, ”What are you laughing at? Didn’t you hear him asking you a question?”

The Right Protector glanced at Old Wang Ba and furrowed his brows. After a moment of silence, the cold gleam in his eyes slowly withdrew, and he said coldly, ”Since when did Eighth Master start siding with this kid?”

Eighth Master—this title, it was unclear whether it was showing respect to Old Wang Ba or insulting him.

Old Wang Ba didn’t care at all and retorted, ”Since when is it your turn to meddle in my affairs? You better mind your own business. He asked you a question, and you didn’t even respond. That’s very rude!”

The Right Protector frowned, his eyes flickering uncertainly, as if he was deciding whether or not to get angry. At this moment, Cui Yulong also quietly stood beside Ye Qing. The Right Protector was incredibly skilled, and he had to be cautious in case the Right Protector attacked suddenly and he was too late to help.

After a long silence, the Right Protector ultimately did not make a move. Instead, he just coldly watched Ye Qing and said, ”I don’t know anything about the matters you mentioned.”

”Is that so?” Ye Qing watched the Right Protector suspiciously.

”Brother Ye.” Cui Yu hastily said, ”Since the Right Protector said he doesn’t know, he surely wouldn’t lie to you. Moreover, the Right Protector has always been part of Sha Men. If he were to call, his influence would summon the members far sooner than I could, why would there be a need for elaborate schemes?”

Ye Qing glanced at Cui Yu. Although Cui Yu said this, Ye Qing still felt that the Right Protector was highly suspicious. This matter was linked to the murder of Tie Yongwen, and Ye Qing was determined to get to the bottom of it.

”I hope so!” Ye Qing looked at the Right Protector and said solemnly, ”Whoever killed Uncle Tie, I will make sure he pays a blood debt with blood!”

The Right Protector sneered coldly, glanced at Ye Qing, and said, ”Just with you?”

”Yes, just with me!” Ye Qing replied proudly.

”Well, I’d like to see that...” the Right Protector sneered, ”The person who killed Tie Yongwen could defeat three or four of you with one hand. And you want blood for blood? That’s utterly ridiculous!”

Old Wang Ba walked over and waved his hand, saying, ”What’s the use of talking about useless things, especially when you weren’t the one who killed Tie Yongwen? You should be more concerned about the issues between Sha Men and the Shen Family!”

The Right Protector glanced at Old Wang Ba and, for some reason, seemed somewhat wary of him, and indeed said nothing more.

”Little Leaf, you better not get involved in this matter,” Old Wang Ba walked to Ye Qing’s side and said, ”Come on, let’s go have breakfast with Eighth Master. Damn it, this teahouse doesn’t even have any pastries, it’s starving me to death!”

Seeing the people inside the room, Ye Qing knew that he couldn’t persuade them any longer, he sighed and followed Old Wang Ba out of the teahouse.

As soon as they sat in the car, Ye Qing immediately turned to Old Wang Ba and asked, ”Eighth Master, tell me the truth, what irreconcilable grievances exist between Sha Men and the Shen Family? Why do they insist on a deadly clash with the Shen Family, knowing someone is plotting behind the scenes?”

Old Wang Ba looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Do you really want to know? I’ll tell you, sometimes, not knowing something is actually better for you!”

Ye Qing said, ”Still, tell me. Without you saying it, there are too many things I can’t figure out!”

”I could tell you, but I have a condition!” Old Wang Ba looked at Ye Qing and suddenly grinned, ”How about you give me a gold card for those nightclubs you own? Then I too can enjoy myself without being kicked out at the door!”

”Who kicked you out?” Ye Qing inquired curiously.

”Ah, don’t even mention it!” Old Wang Ba said dejectedly, ”Whenever I try to go in and have fun, they always say my appearance and attire would affect the nightclub’s business and downright refuse to let me in!”

Ye Qing looked Old Wang Ba up and down, this fellow, dressed in an outdated Zhongshan suit, a perpetually unchanged center-parted hairstyle. His head was full of dandruff, a result of gel that had dried. His face looked unwashed, perpetually bearing a dirty complexion. He smiled, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth, and even had a strip of seaweed stuck on a front tooth, clearly indicating his last meal involved seafood. His pants were unevenly long, though they were supposed to be full-length; on him, they somehow appeared as capris, truly a rarity.

”That’s more like it!” Ye Qing curled his lip and said, ”Eighth Master, can’t you spruce yourself up a bit before going in? With that get-up, you’ll scare all the patrons away!”

”Nonsense, what’s wrong with my get-up?” Old Wang Ba took down the car’s makeup mirror, carefully groomed his parted hair, and said smugly, ”Don’t look down on it; many girls cry and chase after me, and I don’t even bother with them. You’re too young to understand; this is what they call the charm of a mature man, the sediments of the years!”

”Eighth Master, can we speak more clearly?” Ye Qing said, ”Those women who cry and chase after you, what for exactly? Is it to chop you down?”

”How could that be!” Old Wang Ba waved his hand forcefully and said, ”At most they want to give me a beating!”

”Yeah, right!” Ye Qing flipped his middle finger at Old Wang Ba, using the gesture to express his disdain.

”Cut the crap, back to business!” Old Wang Ba pushed Ye Qing’s finger away and said, ”I’m telling you these stories, and you give me a gold card, a gold card that allows me to spend freely. How about that?”

Ye Qing thought for a moment and finally nodded, saying, ”Alright, but let me be clear first. Once you’re in, you’d better stay in the private rooms, don’t wander around outside and mess up my place.”

”No problem, no problem!” Old Wang Ba chuckled heartily, swiftly agreeing.

Ye Qing started the car and asked while driving, ”Now, can you talk about those matters between Sha Men and the Shen Family?”

”It’s a long story, first off, we have to start with the Sha Men organization,” Old Wang Ba said. ”Do you know what Sha Men does?”

”Nonsense, I know, why would I ask you?” Ye Qing said, ”Just tell me, no need for suspense!”

”Hehe...” Old Wang Ba chuckled and said, ”Sha Men is a specialized assassination organization, networking ninety percent of Huaxia’s top assassins. Since its inception, it has been the strongest assassination organization in the country, taking over all of Huaxia’s assassination jobs!”

Ye Qing frowned slightly; he hadn’t expected Sha Men to be such an organization. It seems Cui Yu and others must have been assassins before. These people had a lot of blood on their hands, not exactly good people when you get right down to it.

Old Wang Ba said, ”The Sect Leader of Sha Men, known as the Bloody Monk, is acclaimed as Huaxia’s number one assassin. I’ve never met him, but it is said, he had a confrontation with Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun. Nobody knows how that went, but the fact he could walk away unscathed speaks volumes of his strength, probably not much weaker than the Kings of North-South Boxing!”

”Is that so?” Ye Qing’s expression shifted, in his knowledge, among those known, Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun and Northern Fist King Li Changqing were almost the strongest. Aside from Meng District General Helian Tiehua, no one could match them. Unexpectedly, the Sect Leader of Sha Men was also such a high-level master, no wonder Sha Men held such immense power!

Old Wang Ba said, ”This is all hearsay, but one thing is for certain, the Bloody Monk is really strong. Otherwise, how could he have so many assassins under his command?”

Ye Qing nodded and asked, ”By the way, why is he called the Bloody Monk?”

”Come on, that’s a bit of a weird question!” Old Wang Ba glared and said, ”He was already famous when I was just a kid, how would I know all that? Besides, that’s not his name, just a nickname. Like that Right Protector, nicknamed Blood-Sealed Throat, you don’t really think his name is Blood-Sealed Throat, do you?”

Ye Qing looked at Old Wang Ba and asked, ”The Bloody Monk was famous when you were a kid? Really? How old are you this year?”

Old Wang Ba said, ”Thirty-six years old and a few months...”

”A few months?” Ye Qing asked.

Old Wang Ba quickly said, ”Do you really need to know so precisely?”

”I just feel like you don’t look like someone who’s just over thirty,” Ye Qing said. ”Eighth Master, we can lie, but shouldn’t we at least draft it out first? Getting caught out immediately is rather embarrassing. We’re all friends here, just tell me how many months exactly?”

Old Wang Ba sighed and said, ”Ninety-six months, alright!”

”Ninety-six months, that’s eight years!” Ye Qing looked at Old Wang Ba and said, ”Just say you’re forty-four, why the ninety-six months? You really know how to bluff!”

Old Wang Ba, unembarrassed, waved his hand impatiently and said, ”Stop the nonsense, are you listening to the story about Sha Men or not?”

Ye Qing immediately fell silent; after all, he still had to wait for Old Wang Ba to tell him the story.

”Since the day Sha Men appeared, it was destined to have enemies all over. Think about it, the assassin business, how could it not make enemies?” Old Wang Ba said. ”While the Bloody Monk was around, even if someone got killed by Sha Men’s assassins, no one dared to seek revenge. But, fifteen years ago, the Bloody Monk suddenly disappeared, and things started to get complicated!”
