”Ye, are these folks your friends?” Yong Peng glanced at the Ding Family members and said apologetically, ”I’m really sorry, my staff didn’t...”

Before he could finish, Old Wang Ba interrupted him and said, ”You’ve got it wrong, they’re not our friends, they’re our enemies!”

Originally, Yong Peng had thought the Ding family members were Ye Qing’s friends and was about to apologize to them. But hearing Old Wang Ba’s words, his smiling face suddenly turned cold. He looked at Ye Qing, who hadn’t said anything, but the message was clear.

”That’s right, that’s right...” the waiter also hurriedly said, ”It was them, looking for trouble with Ye early this morning!”

The waiter actually had no idea who Ye was, but seeing Yong Peng’s attitude, he had basically understood that this was a person he absolutely couldn’t afford to provoke.

”Is that so?” Yong Peng’s expression chilled, and he stared at the Ding family members with cold eyes, saying, ”My friends, why so aggressive this early in the morning? Coming to my restaurant, disturbing my guests, and even hitting my staff, you’re really not putting me in your eyes at all, are you!”

”Who the hell do you think you are, that I need to take you seriously?” Ding Changsheng glared and said, ”Fuck off, or I’ll kill you!”

Yong Peng was stunned for a moment, unable to figure out the identities of these people, and he didn’t know what to do next.

Seeing Yong Peng’s expression, Old Wang Ba knew he was somewhat afraid and immediately said, ”Yo-heave-ho, quite the temper there. Chang Sheng, do you think it’s still the era when your Ding family was at its peak? Not realizing that your downfall is just around the corner, you still dare to shout at people. Humph, no disrespect, but with the Ding officials under investigation, who can you even call for help? With you in your current state, even calling the police, no one would care about you!”

Hearing Old Wang Ba’s words, Yong Peng instantly understood the situation of the Ding family members and his spirit was immediately lifted. He let out a cold laugh, waved his hand, and said, ”You all seem rather hot-tempered. If there’s an issue, let’s have a chat. But, this place is too expensive to refurbish, so how about we find another place to talk?”

Ding Changsheng glared and said, ”Who the hell are you to be worth my words, you piece of shit!”

”I’m not a piece of shit...” Yong Peng said with a faint smile, walked up to Ding Changsheng, and suddenly grabbed a plate from nearby and smashed it on Ding Changsheng’s head, shouting angrily, ”But I’m going to have a word with you!”

Yong Peng’s move was so sudden that the nearby people didn’t have time to react. Seeing Ding Changsheng bleeding from the head and slumped to the ground, the Ding family members immediately rushed over. Ding Xiangyun came over, grabbed Yong Peng’s clothes, and screamed, ”How dare you hit my brother!”

Yong Peng didn’t bother with pleasantries and kicked Ding Xiangyun to the ground, waving his hand and saying, ”Take them all away!”

He could see that Ye Qing was very displeased with the Dings, and with Old Wang Ba adding fuel to the fire, he decided to go hard, giving Ye Qing a hand by dealing with these people.

Ye Qing didn’t say a word as the Ding family members struggled, but they were eventually taken away by Yong Peng’s subordinates.

”Make sure you give them a good beating!” Old Wang Ba walked up to Yong Peng and whispered.

”Don’t worry, leave it to me!” Yong Peng replied with a smile, then sneaked a glance at Ye Qing and whispered, ”What does Ye mean by this?”

Old Wang Ba said, ”He’s been wanting to beat these bastards for a long time, so don’t hold back!”

”Got it!” Yong Peng chuckled, exchanged a few words with Ye Qing, and then left with his subordinates.

Ye Qing didn’t stop them because he was also truly annoyed with the Ding family members. Especially the words that Chang Yuan had said earlier, which had infuriated him. These people were self-destructive, doing everything they could to ruin his orphanage. Even Ye Qing felt the urge to severely beat them. Now that someone else was doing it for him, it was even better!

Old Wang Ba followed Ye Qing back to the car, where from a distance, they saw Yong Peng taking the Ding family members into a nearby alley. A dozen or so followers swarmed them and began to assault them. Initially, the Dings were shouting defiantly, their arrogance unbridled. However, Yong Peng didn’t care about their Ding family status; everyone in Shenchuan City knew the Ding family was near collapse, so who would be intimidated by them now?

It wasn’t long before the Ding members were crying and begging, their arrogance subdued, pleading with Yong Peng to stop hitting them. But Yong Peng was putting on a show for Ye Qing and certainly wasn’t holding back. He kept shouting at his men to hit them harder.

Seeing the Dings like this, Ye Qing couldn’t help but sigh. When Tie Yongwen and Elder Master Ding were alive, the Ding family was so prestigious. Who dared to give them a second look in Shenchuan City?

But now, with Tie Yongwen and Elder Master Ding gone and the Ding family completely collapsed, even street thugs could freely beat the direct descendants of the Dings, showing the current status of the family.

”Stop sighing, they brought this upon themselves!” Old Wang Ba waved his hand at Ye Qing, saying, ”Can I use your phone?”

”For what?” Ye Qing looked at Old Wang Ba warily, very cautious around this old man and suspicious that he wanted to con him out of his phone.

”Nonsense, obviously to make a call!” Old Wang Ba snatched the phone from Ye Qing’s hands without waiting for permission.

”Who are you calling?” Ye Qing asked in surprise.

Old Wang Ba didn’t speak, just held the phone to his ear, and after a while he said loudly, ”Hey, is this Zhao Chengshuang? It’s your Eighth Master speaking!”

”Eighth Master? Which Eighth Master?” Zhao Chengshuang didn’t understand the reference at all.

”Damn, Old Wang Ba, how many Eighth Masters do you have!” Old Wang Ba said.

”Oh, it’s Eighth Master! I see,” Zhao Chengshuang responded. ”You suddenly changed your nickname, and I was wondering, who is this ’bird’ on the line? Eighth Brother—why not call yourself a parrot! You’re no spring chicken—why act so juvenile.”

”Cut the crap, I’ve got something for you,” Old Wang Ba quickly interrupted Zhao Chengshuang, saying, ”There’s been a fight on Yong Peng’s turf in Nancheng District. You’ll get a call about it soon, but make sure you don’t step in, okay? And don’t send anyone over, either.”

Ye Qing nearly fainted; Old Wang Ba’s purpose for borrowing the phone turned out to be to prevent the police from intervening after the Ding Family might call for help. He had to admit, Old Wang Ba played a pretty mean game.

”Why not?” Zhao Chengshuang asked, puzzled.

Old Wang Ba exaggerated the Ding Family’s situation in his retelling. After hearing Old Wang Ba out, Zhao Chengshuang immediately broke into hearty laughter, ”Don’t worry, Eighth Master, I’ll personally go over to check it out once the call comes in.”

”Damn it, I told you not to come, and you’re still going?” Old Wang Ba said anxely. ”You’re not thinking of saving them, are you?”

”Relax, I’ll take my time getting there. By the time I arrive, it’ll probably all be over, and I’ll just be in time to enjoy the spectacle,” Zhao Chengshuang chuckled. ”I can’t miss such entertaining drama; I have to go see it for myself!”

Old Wang Ba’s face broke into a wide grin. ”Right, right, you should come take a look. Those folks from the Ding family are nearly kneeling from the beating. When you get there, you should bring some reporters—that would be even more fun!”

Ye Qing was completely speechless on the side; these two really were two of a kind. However, to be honest, watching the Ding Family members being beaten by Yong Peng and his crew did give Ye Qing a feeling of satisfaction.

”Alright, enough talk, you two!” Ye Qing slapped the car roof and said, ”Let’s head back, Eighth Master.”

Only then did Old Wang Ba hang up the phone and get into the car, still excitedly watching the group being beaten in the alley. The old guy’s greatest pleasure was clearly schadenfreude!

In the morning, Ye Qing first went to Tian Sheng, where Qin Jing had already arrived, and he had collected all the accounts.

Ye Qing and Li Lianshan together took out twenty venues; Li Lianshan brought out fifteen, and Ye Qing brought out five, which they divided among the twenty people. Now, with five fewer venues, Ye Qing’s income had certainly dropped substantially. However, this wasn’t crucial for him. After all, the income from Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens was catching up with what he made from all his current venues.

The operations for Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens were already in process, but with Zhao Chengshuang handling things, it definitely wouldn’t be difficult. Besides, looking at the current state of Shenchuan City, there was simply no one daring enough to compete with Ye Qing for these two venues. So, it was just a matter of time before Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens would fall under Ye Qing’s control.

Ye Qing had just finished dealing with the morning’s accounts with Qin Jing when Mad Dog came in, announcing that someone had come to visit.

Ye Qing was originally planning to visit the orphanage, but since someone had arrived, he decided to put that plan on hold and instructed Mad Dog to invite the visitor in.

After waiting about a minute in the office, Mad Dog brought someone with him. The visitor was a dwarf, barely over a meter tall.

Seeing the person, Ye Qing was somewhat surprised and stood up, saying, ”Uncle Fu, what brings you here?”

This dwarf was none other than Huangfu Ziyu’s personal old servant, Tianfu. Ye Qing had met him a few times and knew that despite the dwarf’s unimpressive appearance, he possessed great physical strength; Ye Qing had been at the disadvantage when they first met.

Tianfu’s visit was certainly concerning Huangfu Ziyu. However, Ye Qing was quite surprised, as Huangfu Ziyu usually called him directly when something came up. Why send someone this time? Did it need to be so formal?

As Tianfu entered the room, he looked at Ye Qing with some hostility, leaving Ye unsure why. He gave Ye Qing a bow and said, ”Mr. Ye, my young miss sent me to discuss a matter with you.”

”Please sit down, Uncle Fu!” Ye Qing quickly approached and instructed Mad Dog, ”Go make some tea.”

”No need,” Tianfu refused flatly and continued, ”The matter is simple; I’ll leave once I’ve said my piece. My young miss asked me to tell you that you owe her three favors, and now it’s time to repay them.”

Before, Ye Qing had sought Huangfu Ziyu’s help to save Black Bear, to investigate Tie Yongwen’s death, and to deal with Beggar King. Because of these three things, he had incurred debts of favor from Huangfu Ziyu. He hadn’t expected Huangfu Ziyu to come calling so soon!
