Urban Martial Saint

Old Wang Ba chuckled, ”Isn’t it just a casual greeting? Look at the British, they always say ’Nice weather today’ when they meet each other. It’s a polite expression.”

”Aren’t you just idling about? Let me tell you, I’m really busy right now. If you have something to say, say it quick, or I’m hanging up!” Ye Qing said in frustration. At a time like this, that Old Wang Ba still felt like making such a pointless greeting.

Old Wang Ba hastily said, ”I do have something, of course I have something. Don’t hang up, don’t hang up!”

After speaking, Old Wang Ba chuckled again, ”Guess why I’m looking for you this time?”

This guy’s nerves are really too thick, Ye Qing thought speechlessly, ”You’re not asking to borrow money from me, are you?”

”Come on, do I, Old Wang Ba, look like that kind of person to you?” Old Wang Ba said, ”We who mix in these circles believe money is like dirt. Don’t always think I’m so lacking in integrity, all right?”

Ye Qing: ”Cut the crap, get to the point, or I’m hanging up!”

Old Wang Ba said, ”Hey, why are you in such a rush all of a sudden? We haven’t seen each other in so long, what’s wrong with chatting a bit more?”

Ye Qing’s voice grew stern, ”I’ve got urgent matters over here, no time to shoot the breeze with you!”

Hearing that something was off with Ye Qing’s tone, Old Wang Ba also became a bit more serious, ”What happened?”

”It’s a lot of stuff, very troublesome, I can’t explain it all in a word or two. If you’ve got something to say, say it quick, I really can’t spare the time here!” Ye Qing replied. If it weren’t for the fact that Old Wang Ba had some abilities, Ye Qing genuinely wanted to just hang up the phone. Truth be told, this Old Wang Ba was really unreliable.

Old Wang Ba said, ”I’ve got something rather significant here too. When are you free? Come to Dongzhou—it’s a good opportunity.”

”I really don’t have time to go there now!” Ye Qing flatly refused. Whatever this sleazy guy called a good thing, it always felt to Ye Qing like a trap.

”No, you must come here, it’s critical!” Old Wang Ba insisted with unusual gravity. ”Put aside the matters in Shenchuan City for now, come here and get this settled first. As long as you sort out the affairs here in Dongzhou, I guarantee, you’ll definitely stand your ground in Eastern Province!”

Ye Qing frowned slightly, ”Stop it, I’ve got lots of serious matters to deal with here. I can’t make it to Dongzhou. After I’ve finished what I’m doing here and can find the time, maybe I can make a trip, but definitely not anytime soon!”

”No, you must come in the next few days, better if it’s tomorrow!” Old Wang Ba demanded firmly.

”I really can’t get away, you don’t understand what’s happened here.” Ye Qing paused, then said helplessly, ”Old Master Tie has been killed!”

”Huh?” Old Wang Ba was taken aback for a moment, asking, ”Which Old Master Tie are you talking about? Tie... Tie Yongwen?”

”What do you think?” Ye Qing countered.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone and after a while, Old Wang Ba finally asked in a heavy voice, ”What exactly happened?”

Ye Qing briefly explained the situation in Shenchuan City. After hearing Ye Qing’s words, Old Wang Ba was silent for a good while, as if contemplating something. After some time, he finally said gravely, ”Then where are you now?”

”I’m hiding in the teahouse, still relatively safe for now.” Ye Qing spoke in a grave voice, ”But no matter what, I must find out who’s pulling the strings behind all this, I must avenge Uncle Tie!”

”That’s right!” Old Wang Ba said, ”If you truly wish to seek revenge, then come to Dongzhou immediately. I assure you it won’t be a wasted trip!”

Ye Qing didn’t expect that after saying so much, Old Wang Ba was still insistent on him going to Dongzhou. What on earth was he getting at?

”At this moment, do you think I can leave?” Ye Qing asked sternly.

Old Wang Ba said, ”At this time, staying in Shenchuan City, the outcome will still be the same. Whoever is manipulating all this, if they dare to kill even Tie Yongwen, the teahouse might not be absolutely safe. Hurry to Dongzhou, there’s a big opportunity waiting for you. If you manage to pull this off, it’s guaranteed to bring you three years of prosperity, ensuring that you thrive in Eastern Province, making a name for yourself!”

Ye Qing was completely bewildered by Old Wang Ba’s words, ”What opportunity, what three years of prosperity? Stop spouting nonsense. With the situation in Shenchuan City right now, you still have the mood to talk about these superstitious fortunes and predictions. Okay, I won’t waste more words with you, we’ll talk another day!”

”Hello? Hello? Don’t hang up...”

Old Wang Ba was still shouting, but Ye Qing had already hung up the phone. This sleazy man really left Ye Qing with no good options. How could Ye Qing possibly leave for Dongzhou at a time like this?

Returning to the room, Lin Mengjie and Hu Momo looked at Ye Qing in astonishment. They had both heard what Ye Qing had said on the phone, and they were both curious about the person on the other end. Who could this person be, to hound someone to this extent?

Ye Qing didn’t say much, just sat down and discussed with Lin Mengjie about having her take people back to Jiuchuan County first. However, Lin Mengjie refused outright. No matter what, she was unwilling to leave Shenchuan City at this time, and she didn’t want Ye Qing to deal with everything here alone.

Seeing that he couldn’t persuade Lin Mengjie, Ye Qing felt very helpless. Most of the people he had recruited from the Fierce Tiger Gang had been captured by the police. Moreover, once his people stepped out of the teahouse, they would definitely be arrested by the police. The teahouse was now a sanctuary because no one dared to make trouble in the teahouse, not even the police. No one knew how many assassins Cui Yu had under his command after running the teahouse for so many years. However, everyone was aware that if they offended the teahouse, they could lose their lives at any time, so even the Ding Family didn’t dare to provoke the teahouse.

Of course, the Ding Family wasn’t afraid of the teahouse when Tie Yongwen was alive. But now that Tie Yongwen was gone, the Ding Family had lost their previous confidence. It would be too easy for Cui Yu to assassinate members of the Ding Family!

”At the end of the day, the biggest trouble now is that the police are still watching!” Hu Momo let out a sigh and said, ”Ye Qing, I heard from the Judge that the teahouse is now surrounded by police. I suspect that as soon as you dare to go out, you will be surrounded by the police even before the Tianqing Gang Fubang or the Ding Family Xingyi School come after you. And even if you could really get out, with so many police as your enemy, it would be very difficult for you to move around in Shenchuan City!”

Lin Mengjie sighed and said, ”The Ding Family’s official power is really too strong; this battle is simply not fair!”

Ye Qing also felt depressed. Previously, with the support from Tie Yongwen, he was effectively backed by the Ding Family, making him untouchable in Shenchuan City. But in the span of one night, both Tie Yongwen and Elder Master Ding passed away, and he had fallen to this state. Without the backing of a powerful official faction, that was Ye Qing’s biggest weakness, one that could lead to his annihilation by official powers at any time!

As the three sat in silence and melancholy, the Ghost-faced Judge returned with White Impermanence. With them came a man with dry, tanned skin, large eyes, a big head, but a tiny, unbalanced body that looked extremely disproportionate and even a bit terrifying. Truth be told, if anyone saw him alone in the dark, they might think he was a ghost!

Hu Momo obviously saw this man for the first time as well, and was taken aback by his appearance. Lin Mengjie, on the other hand, was so stunned that she widened her eyes, showed a fearful expression, and quietly hid behind Ye Qing, watching the man in panic.

”Judge, who is this?” Hu Momo stood up out of politeness and asked.

”Hehehe...” The man let out a series of ear-piercing, cold chuckles as he sized up Hu Momo, clicking his tongue and saying, ”Cui Laoqi, is this the woman you saved? She’s not bad looking at all, you have good taste!”

Cui Yu watched the man coldly, his expression showing some wariness, and it was unclear how the two had ended up together.

Cui Yu coldly said, ”Ghost King, I asked you to come back to discuss dealing with the Shen Family. As for other matters, you don’t need to ask, and you can’t manage them either!”

The man’s name was actually Ghost King, but honestly, the title suited his appearance quite well.

”Hehehe...” The Ghost King let out bursts of strange laughter, his eyes scanning the people in the teahouse, finally resting on Ye Qing and Lin Mengjie, as he said, ”These two don’t look like they belong to the teahouse.”

Cui Yu’s face changed slightly, and he gave a look to Ye Qing, signaling him to take Lin Mengjie and go downstairs. However, it was already too late. The Ghost King moved so fast that Ye Qing didn’t see how he did it, abruptly charging in front of Ye Qing.

Ye Qing’s expression changed. The speed of the Ghost King was unbelievably fast. However, he reacted quickly as well, with a slight crouch of his knees, his right shoulder charging at the Ghost King.

”Eh?” The Ghost King let out a surprised exclamation, but his strength was truly not weak. Grabbing Ye Qing’s shoulder, he flung Ye Qing away.

When Ye Qing collided with the Ghost King, it felt like slamming into a bundle of cotton, with no point of resistance at all. As a result of being thrown by the Ghost King, combined with his own momentum, he couldn’t stop himself and crashed into the side, breaking half of the door.

Ye Qing was greatly shocked. The strength of the Ghost King was simply too terrifying!

After tossing Ye Qing aside, the Ghost King didn’t stop. He reached out towards Lin Mengjie, his mouth continuously emitting bursts of his chilling laughter.

Lin Mengjie was petrified, even forgetting to scream. Just as the Ghost King’s withered hand was about to grasp Lin Mengjie’s neck, suddenly, a silver thread flew from the side, wrapping around the Ghost King’s hand. With a strong pull, the Ghost King was yanked away, which thankfully allowed Lin Mengjie to avoid his grasp.

The person who intervened was Cui Yu, holding that silver line in his hands, with a Fine Steel Stabber in his left hand, he charged at the Ghost King and thrust towards his chest.

The Ghost King was also incredibly fast. With a flick of his hand, he deflected the silver thread. Then, without any visible movement, he lifted his toes off the ground, and as if being pulled by something, he swiftly moved backward by more than a meter, causing Cui Yu to miss him completely!
