Urban Martial Saint

Just as Li Lianshan had predicted, the following night, the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang struck once again, swallowing up another third of Fierce Tiger Gang’s turf.

This time, Pi Junchao tentatively sent out people to resist. However, the current Fierce Tiger Gang was no match for the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang to begin with, let alone when the two gangs joined forces; the Fierce Tiger Gang was utterly powerless to fight back.

However, the one thing that gave Pi Junchao some comfort was that at this moment, members of the Fierce Tiger Gang were more united than ever before. The previous situation of every man for himself was gone. Now everyone was rallying around Pi Junchao, including those who had previously vied with him for control of the Fierce Tiger Gang. They were now cooperating with Pi Junchao.

For these people, despite their grudges with Pi Junchao, after all, he was one of their own. Moreover, since the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang had taken their turfs, casting them directly into the status of defeated dogs, their hatred for Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang had reached its peak. At this time, they would rather serve under Pi Junchao than allow Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan to gain more advantage. So, no matter what, they would never defect to the Tianqing Gang or Fu Bang.

In fact, Pi Junchao himself was in a difficult position. It was clear that the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang wanted to swallow all their turfs and leave them without a foothold in Shenchuan City. In that case, they would thoroughly become a motley crowd, without financial backing, and before long, they would scatter like monkeys, and the Fierce Tiger Gang would dissipate into thin air.

That night, Pi Junchao and several other leaders of the Fierce Tiger Gang were sitting in their lair as the news from outside kept pouring in. Their expressions grew increasingly grim. The men they had sent out were simply unable to stop the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang, suffering heavy losses instead. Many were injured, and it angered them to lose both turf and brothers in the fight.

”Motherfucker, Shangguan Tian, Li Wenyuan, these two bastards, are they trying to exterminate us?” A man bit his teeth, slammed the table, and bellowed resentfully.

”Do you even have to ask?” Another man glanced at him and said, ”It’s clear that the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang intend to swallow up all our turfs this time. They probably planned it since the Tiger King died. However, Ye Qing’s appearance delayed their plan a bit. They were planning to deal with Ye Qing first, but now it seems they’ve run out of options with Ye Qing, so they’ve decided to take us out first!”

”So what do we do now?” Another man turned to Pi Junchao and said, ”Just sitting here waiting isn’t going to solve anything. Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang are too strong. They’ll crush us if we try to stop them. It’s like sitting ducks here. We need to come up with a solution to this mess!”

”What else can we do? Should we go out and fight them?” Another person scoffed, ”We’re no match for them. If we go out to fight, we’ll probably all end up dead!”

Just as the men were making a ruckus, a lackey suddenly rushed in through the door and said urgently, ”Brother Jiu, something terrible has happened, your brother has been hacked, his arm has been cut off!”

”What?” A man immediately stood up, roaring wildly, ”I’ll fuck his ancestor’s eighteen generations, daring to injure my brother, I’ll fight them to the death. Goddamn, gather people, call all the brothers, come with me!”

”Old Jiu, Old Jiu, calm down!” The others hurriedly held him down and repeatedly told him not to be impulsive in comforting tones. But how could Old Jiu possibly remain calm now, swearing and cursing nonstop.

Pi Junchao frowned deeply, not having said a word from the beginning to the end; he was unable to take a stance. As the Eldest Brother of this group, even the smallest word from him had a great impact. If he said to start fighting, it would mean using the full force of the Fierce Tiger Gang in a direct confrontation. They would definitely not win, and doing so might mean the complete end of the Fierce Tiger Gang. He didn’t want to be the culprit who caused the downfall of the Fierce Tiger Gang!

However, just sitting here wasn’t an option either. With all kinds of bad news coming in from outside, it was only a matter of time before the Fierce Tiger Gang lost all their turfs. When that time came, the Fierce Tiger Gang would still end up disbanded, which wasn’t the result he wanted to see.

But just because Pi Junchao didn’t speak, it didn’t mean he didn’t have a plan. In fact, him sitting here was also a way of buying time, waiting for a move from another person in Shenchuan City. And that person was none other than Ye Qing, the only one in Shenchuan City who could stand on equal ground with the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang!

Ye Qing might not have the power of the Tianqing Gang or Fu Bang, but who dared to underestimate him after the grand opening of the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena? Without a doubt, Ye Qing’s status in Shenchuan City had now reached the same level as Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan, except that his development time was too short and his foundation was not as profound as theirs.

While the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang had yet to make their move against the Fierce Tiger Gang, Ye Qing had sought out Pi Junchao several times, and the two had clashed on a few occasions. Although Pi Junchao had been at a disadvantage each time, compared to what the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang were doing to the Fierce Tiger Gang now, Ye Qing somehow seemed less detestable. To Pi Junchao, the truly despicable ones were the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang, who were pushing the Fierce Tiger Gang to a dead end!

Pi Junchao firmly believed that Ye Qing would not sit idly by and ignore this matter. Since yesterday, the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang had taken over two-thirds of the Fierce Tiger Gang’s turf, and yet, Ye Qing remained unusually quiet, which was extremely abnormal. Therefore, Pi Junchao was convinced that Ye Qing must be observing the dynamics of the situation, ready to step in at an opportune moment.

The battle for control continued into the wee hours of the morning, past two o’clock, and the losses suffered by the Fierce Tiger Gang this night were even more severe than the night before. Now, the Fierce Tiger Gang had only about ten turfs left, less than one-fifth of what they had before. It was safe to say that the Fierce Tiger Gang was on the brink of collapse, as these ten turfs simply couldn’t sustain the gang’s development; the profits were nowhere near enough for the use of the members of the Fierce Tiger Gang!

Finally, when everyone had quieted down, Pi Junchao left the room, exhausted, and walked to the adjoining private room. Several elders were there. Pi Junchao owed his current position to the support of these elders. Therefore, for any major issue, he also needed to consult with them.

The elders looked solemn, and after Pi Junchao observed the group, he said gravely, ”It seems like we have no choice but to take the last step.”

”You... you’re really going to approach Ye Qing?” an elder asked, looking at Pi Junchao with a frown. ”Junchao, the state that the Fierce Tiger Gang is in today is all thanks to Ye Qing. In fact, Ye Qing is our greatest enemy!”

”Uncle Qi, you are mistaken,” Pi Junchao shook his head and responded, ”Tiger King’s death was at the hands of Huangfu Ziyu, not much to do with Ye Qing. As for him taking our twelve turfs, although he did take some, compared to Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan, he didn’t take many. The key point is, even if he didn’t take those twelve turfs, Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan would have definitely come after them, and we still couldn’t have kept them. However, unlike Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan, Ye Qing didn’t injure our brothers. The members of our gang don’t actually despise him. Although Ye Qing is not a good person, we need to put aside our differences and grudges for the sake of preserving the Fierce Tiger Gang!”

Hearing this, the elders exchanged glances. One of them said, ”What you’re saying isn’t wrong, but Ye Qing is no pushover either. If we seek his help, who knows what kind of conditions he’ll propose? He might even be contemplating swallowing up our Fierce Tiger Gang, no different from Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan!”

”I don’t think so,” Pi Junchao disagreed, shaking his head. ”Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan have the capability to swallow up our Fierce Tiger Gang, but Ye Qing doesn’t have that strength. What’s his current situation? He has only a hundred or so men under him, and even adding Li Lianshan’s men, it’s only two to three hundred. But we still have over a thousand men in the Fierce Tiger Gang. Can his two to three hundred men really swallow up our thousand? Even if they do merge, with so many of us, it’s still uncertain who would be in charge then!”

The eyes of the elders suddenly lit up, Pi Junchao’s words giving them a burst of spirit. Indeed, with so many of them, even if they were taken over by Ye Qing, they could rule the roost by virtue of their numbers. But being swallowed by the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang meant a different outcome, for those gangs had more people, leaving them unable to call the shots!

”Now that you’ve put it that way, I think seeking Ye Qing’s help is truly appropriate,” an elder nodded slowly, adding, ”But, will Ye Qing really help us? Junchao, we don’t have many turfs left. If Ye Qing really helps us, we would only be an empty shell. Would he confront the Tianqing Gang and Fu Bang for the sake of an empty shell?”

This was what Pi Junchao feared most, he furrowed his brow and fell silent, not sure how to respond. In fact, he had this idea since last night, thinking about seeking Ye Qing’s help but hesitated, leading to the current situation. With only a few turfs left, even if Ye Qing helped them, they would have difficulty sustaining themselves in the future. It didn’t make sense for Ye Qing to spend his own money to subsidize them.

As Pi Junchao furrowed his brow in silence, a young gang member suddenly walked in, speaking in a low voice, ”Eldest Brother, Ye Qing is here and wants to see you!”

”Ah?” Pi Junchao was startled, and the others in the room were also stunned, looking at each other in surprise, wondering, ”He... He actually came in person?”

Pi Junchao felt a surge of joy in his heart. His greatest worry was that Ye Qing wouldn’t offer help. Unexpectedly, before he even approached him, Ye Qing had come forward first. It seemed that he was indeed willing to help.

Turning to the elders, Pi Junchao said, ”Elders, since Ye Qing has come on his own, it means there is still room for maneuvering in this matter. Rest assured, I will now go and talk with him. No matter what, I will preserve the Fierce Tiger Gang, that’s my bottom line!”
