Mu Qingrong flipped through the contract and looked up at Ye Qing with a pleased expression, saying, ”Very good, you did excellently, the contract is flawless. Manager Wang, take a look!”

Wang Xuan took the contract and scrutinized it carefully, hoping to find some loophole, and even more so to verify if the contract was indeed genuine. Unfortunately, the contract was genuine and completely normal; he couldn’t spot a single flaw.

”You... you really secured this project?” Wang Xuan still couldn’t believe it and asked in astonishment.

Ye Qingqi said, ”Is there a problem with the contract?”

”Ah, no... no problem...” Wang Xuan, realizing his own loss of composure, hastily nodded and said, ”Very good, very good, Ye Qing, you did an excellent job on this. However, in the future, you must be mindful that you are now an employee of the company, and you need to pay attention to efficiency. Definitely do not drag your feet.

Like today’s incident, disappearing for five to six hours, such an occurrence must absolutely not happen again, understood?”

Mu Qingrong found this grating to the ears. For a project like the one from Das Group, the company might not secure even ten such deals in a month. And with the company, including Wang Xuan, having a total of four salespeople, it meant each person wouldn’t even get three deals. Ye Qing had completed a deal within a single day.

Even if he had been out for five or six hours, or even five or six days, it would have been permissible.

”Ye Qing, you did very well this time. According to the company’s commission policy, for business under one hundred thousand, we offer a five percent commission. For this deal, you can get one thousand five hundred yuan,” Mu Qingrong said, unable to reprimand Wang Xuan, thereby consoling Ye Qing instead.

Wang Xuan protested, ”Director Mu, Huang Yun wrote this proposal, and I have been working on this business deal all along. Is it really appropriate to give him the commission?”

”Weren’t you all busy with the business of Feiyun Group? Since you delegated this business to Ye Qing, you already made him responsible for it. If he had failed, he would have had to bear the consequences according to the company’s rules.

But now that he has succeeded, the reward naturally goes to him,” Mu Qingrong glanced at Wang Xuan, then continued, ”Manager Wang, the business with Feiyun Group is significant. When it’s secured, the commission will surely be much more than this. If you are still short-staffed, would you like Ye Qing to help you out?”

Wang Xuan was unwilling to share the spoils from the Feiyun Group with Ye Qing and hurriedly shook his head and waved his hands, saying, ”No need, no need at all, the few of us are enough. Ye Qing has just arrived, and there are many things he doesn’t yet understand. It’s most important for him to learn more first.”

”Alright then,” Mu Qingrong nodded with a hint of regret, saying, ”However, if you find yourselves overwhelmed, you can always ask Ye Qing for help at any time. He’s a newcomer, and you should mentor him more!”

Having said that, Mu Qingrong turned to Ye Qing and asked, ”Ye Qing, are you in urgent need of money? If it’s urgent, I can have finance issue your commission early.”

Wang Xuan felt frustrated, as Mu Qingrong seemed to be treating Ye Qing too well.

”No need, I still have enough money,” Ye Qing had around one thousand five hundred yuan left on him, and since he didn’t need to pay for accommodation living under the bridge, he could survive for a while on his food expenses alone.

Mu Qingrong nodded, her impression of Ye Qing improving further. Not only had Ye Qing completed a deal, but more crucially, he had declined the early commission payout. This would have been difficult for most people to do, especially knowing that Ye Qing couldn’t have much money on him. Yet, he still declined, showing a rare quality indeed.

”Keep up the good work, I believe you will do even better in the future!” Mu Qingrong looked at Wang Xuan and smiled, ”Manager Wang, what do you think?”

Wang Xuan’s expression was dark and ominous. He sized up Ye Qing from head to toe and said, ”Come back to work tomorrow, and make sure to change your clothes. You must look presentable at work, not slack!”

Mu Qingrong chuckled to herself, ignoring Wang Xuan, and said to Ye Qing, ”By the way, Ye Qing, do you have any plans after work?”

Ye Qing: ”Nothing in particular.”

Mu Qingrong said, ”That’s good, Pingping and the others mentioned they wanted to treat you to dinner tonight, why don’t you come with me after work?”

Ye Qing nodded, ”Sure.”

Wang Xuan, however, was anxious and said, ”Director Mu, the proposal for Feiyun Group needs your input tonight.”

”It’s not necessary. I trust that you will handle the Feiyun Group project well!” Mu Qingrong smiled, ”I have something else tonight and can’t get away. Complete it and bring it for me to review tomorrow!”

After finishing, Mu Qingrong packed up her things and left, with Ye Qing following her out. Wang Xuan stood behind, watching the two of them walk away, his eyes brimming with anger. He had invited Mu Qingrong out for dinner so many times, but she had never dined with him. Yet tonight, she had actually asked Ye Qing out to dinner. How could he possibly feel at ease with this?

But he was unable to sway Mu Qingrong’s intentions and could only leave the office with a sullen face.

Cheng Feilong was still waiting at the door, and upon seeing Wang Xuan come out, he immediately approached with excitement, saying, ”Manager Wang, how did it go? Did you give that kid a good talking-to?”

”Mockery, mockery, mockery, what kind of work attitude is that every day!” Wang Xuan scolded furiously: ”The company brought you back for the benefit of its development, what are you thinking about every day? How much business have you brought to the company this month?”

Cheng Feilong was left dumbfounded by Wang Xuan’s scolding, having no clue what he did to enrage Wang Xuan, and returned to his seat with an aggrieved face, wondering why Wang Xuan was in such a terrible mood. Could it be that he had been wronged by Ye Qing?

Wang Xuan returned to his seat with a dark expression, thankful that most people had already left for the day and no one had seen his face.

Wang Xuan was frustrated; he had intended to put Ye Qing in an embarrassing position today. Unexpectedly, not only had he not managed to trap Ye Qing but also allowed him to secure a business deal. Any boss would be impressed with someone who closes a deal on their first day of work!

Thinking about Director Mu inviting Ye Qing earlier, Wang Xuan’s frustration grew. After a long silence, a cold light flashed in his eyes and, gritting his teeth, he muttered to himself so quietly that only he could hear, ”Mu Qingrong, I will make you see that without me, this company absolutely cannot take a single step!”

Director Mu led Ye Qing into the elevator and then let out a soft sigh, whispering, ”I’m sorry.”

Ye Qing: ”Why?”

Director Mu whispered, ”Wang Xuan is actually very capable, but being too competent isn’t always a good thing. He made a name for himself at a young age and now has a broad network in the industry and does well, so his character has inevitably become a bit arrogant. In dealing with people and matters, his speech and actions lack courtesy, so don’t take it to heart too much.”

Ye Qing fell silent for a moment before whispering, ”You’re apologizing for his mistake, being a boss must be pretty exhausting.”

Director Mu felt a bit bleak inside; not only was being a boss tiring, it could even be said to be frustrating. But she could only brace herself and go on, no matter how tough or exhausting, she would never give up easily!

”Have you ever worked in sales before?” Director Mu shifted the topic.

”No,” Ye Qing shook his head, saying, ”I just got discharged less than a month ago.”

”Really?” Director Mu looked Ye Qing up and down before saying, ”Well, you did quite a good job, completing a project on your first day at work. I think, if you could make some small changes to yourself, you would definitely have a future in this industry!”

Ye Qing did not really want to make much progress in this industry; his main reason for finding this job was because it allowed him to travel around without hindering his search for his younger brother, Ye Jun. As for why he worked so hard on the business deal today, it was because it was his job and his responsibility.

Director Mu brought Ye Qing back to the residential area, where Fang Tingyun had already returned, bought a lot of groceries, and was tidying up the kitchen.

Huo Pingping, dressed in a sexy professional outfit, was sitting in the living room lecturing Chen Keai, with Ye Qing able to hear her voice from a distance.

”Cutie, it’s not that I want to criticize you. If you want to date, don’t hide or hold back. Though you’re not as pretty as me, you’re not ugly either. You’re quite presentable. If you fall for a guy, it should be his great fortune. Why should he be so cold towards you?”

”Ms. Ping, like I said, it’s not that he’s cold to me. We... we’ve only met twice, and we haven’t even spoken…”

”What kind of dating is that? You’re clearly crushing on him!”

”I didn’t say I was dating…”

”That won’t do. Let me tell you, having a crush is the most troublesome. If you truly have feelings for him, and he’s a good person, then you should boldly pursue him. Don’t worry, listen to me, with your looks, just dress up a bit and there isn’t a man in the world you couldn’t chase. Besides, there’s a saying, isn’t there, that distance makes the heart grow fonder.

In my opinion, you’re so infatuated with him because of the distance. Once you get closer, you might find he’s not even as good as the fruit vendor on the street. In these cases, you need to cut the knot decisively, try dating for a while, and if you’re incompatible, break up quickly to avoid a prolonged secret affection and unnecessary heartache.”

”Pingping, you’re filling Cutie’s head with these ideas again,” Director Mu entered, and Chen Keai, who was sitting on the couch, blushed upon seeing her. Seeing Ye Qing following behind, she blushed even more, wishing she could just disappear into a crack in the ground.

”Boss, you’ve come back at just the right time, tell me if what I just said wasn’t right.” Huo Pingping stood up and went straight to Ye Qing’s side, leaning on his shoulder with one arm, and asked, ”Soldier Brother, you’re a man, what do you think?”

Ye Qing was silent for a while, then said, ”A girl should be reserved!”

Huo Pingping said, ”Cutie is pretty reserved, but you have to let people know what you think, right?”

Ye Qing looked at Huo Pingping and whispered, ”I wasn’t talking about her.”
