Urban Martial Saint

These men were knocked down, and immediately, people around started hitting them while they were down and called the police.

Before long, several police cars arrived and took all these men away. They were all habitual offenders, and the police didn’t even ask who had hit them, so Ye Qing was safe and sound.

Upon returning to the table and sitting down, Fang Tingyun’s colleagues no longer looked at Ye Qing with hostility. Instead, their expressions were filled with surprise.

Fang Tingyun, however, was all smiles and immediately handed a bottle of water to Ye Qing when he came back.

”Brother, how... how did you know they put the wallet on that child?” a girl couldn’t help asking.

Ye Qing said, ”I deduced it.”

”Deduced?” The girl’s eyes widened as she said, ”I thought you saw it! Can you even deduce something like this? How did you deduce it?”

”This is a gang, and such theft gangs are usually quite organized and planned. There are lookouts, blockers, thieves, and specifically those responsible for hiding the stolen goods,” Ye Qing explained. ”And generally, those who hide the stolen goods need to be someone inconspicuous, someone no one would suspect of stealing.

This role is best suited for three types of people: the elderly, women, and children!”

Another girl, puzzled, asked, ”There are elderly people and women around here too, so why didn’t you search them?”

Ye Qing explained, ”There’s a saying, ’A guilty conscience needs no accuser.’ In reality, the thieves might not feel guilty because the stolen goods aren’t on them, hence they aren’t afraid. However, those hiding the stolen items will inevitably feel nervous.

Just now, that child was nervous the whole time, kept his hands in his pockets, and intentionally stayed away from that group, so of course he was the most suspicious!”

The women suddenly realized the logic, but at the same time, they were also amazed by Ye Qing’s careful observation.

In fact, this was a habit of Ye Qing’s. As a Special Forces soldier frequently assigned missions, he instinctively scrutinized his surroundings wherever he went. Even if it was just a few chairs, he would meticulously observe how far each chair was from him and how they were arranged because, on the battlefield, any aspect of the environment could either save your life or endanger it.

During the chaotic scene just earlier, Ye Qing had actually been intentionally observing everyone. Thus, the child’s expression naturally could not escape Ye Qing’s keen battlefield-honed gaze.

”Weren’t you afraid that you might have guessed wrong?” a girl asked, ”If you were wrong, this would get messy!”

Ye Qing smiled lightly, ”When I approached that child earlier, I had already patted a few of his pockets, making sure he had several wallets in there.”

The women nodded in understanding, appreciating Ye Qing’s meticulousness and thoroughness more. Regardless of his identity, his meticulous mind truly stood unparalleled.

After eating, Fang Tingyun and her colleagues went back to the company first. Ye Qing also went to Das Company, where he successfully entered the planning department of Das Company and met the head of the department.

Manager Liu Yuan, a man in his thirties, was quite surprised to see Ye Qing in a military uniform. Having been in the industry for so long, he had never seen a sales representative dressed like that. However, judging by Ye Qing’s naive and simple demeanor, he assumed that Ye was a newbie in Shenchuan City, deeply rustic in his ways, which led him to look down on Ye Qing a bit more.

Manager Liu briefly flipped through the portfolio that Ye Qing had handed over, then snapped it shut and tossed it in front of Ye Qing, discontentedly saying, ”Didn’t I mention yesterday? Your company’s planning has issues, it doesn’t meet our requirements. You haven’t modified the proposal, and just brought it back as is, what does this mean?

With this kind of attitude from your company, how can we dare to collaborate with you?”

Ye Qing, unaware of what was even inside the portfolio and naturally unclear about his purpose there, was scolded by Liu Yuan without understanding the reason, unable to retort, he could only take back the portfolio and said, ”I’m sorry, then I’ll go back and revise it!”

”No need!” Manager Liu waved his hand, ”With your company like this, we don’t need to bother collaborating. Go back and tell your manager not to bother with this project anymore!”

Today was Ye Qing’s first day on the job, and this was his first task. If he messed this up, Ye Qing really didn’t know how he would face Mu Qingrong back at the office.

Ye Qing looked at Manager Liu and sincerely said, ”Manager Liu, I’m truly sorry, it was our oversight. How about this, I’ll go out and revise it right now, and if you could please take a look again later. If it’s still not satisfactory, then I’ll go back and convey your message to the manager.”

”Revise it now?” Manager Liu glanced skeptically at Ye Qing, ”Where will you revise it? It’s already past two o’clock, I get off work at five-thirty, are you planning to make me work overtime?”

Ye Qing shook his head, ”Manager Liu, if I don’t place the revised proposal in front of you by four o’clock, then I’ll head back straight away, I absolutely won’t disturb you!”

Manager Liu actually didn’t take Ye Qing seriously at all, and as for Ye Qing’s company’s proposal, he had given up on it already. However, Ye Qing’s words somewhat sparked his interest.

Perfecting a proposal is certainly not an easy task. The proposal from Ye Qing’s company was a failure, which was the main reason Manager Liu had given up on it. Modifying it meant essentially redoing the entire proposal.

Such a planning case would take a seasoned salesman at least two or three hours to prepare. Ye Qing wanted to complete the planning case in an hour and a half and make Liu Yuan satisfied; how could that be possible?

Liu Yuan became interested because he wanted to see what Ye Qing could accomplish in that hour and a half. He had seen many who boasted, but Ye Qing’s boasting seemed a bit over the top!

”Well, then, I’ll wait here for you until four o’clock. If you can make me satisfied, then I’ll directly hand this business over to your company,” Liu Yuan declared, ”I can decide on this matter!”

Ye Qing nodded, ”Thank you, Manager Liu!”

”Don’t thank me!” Liu Yuan lit a cigarette and looked at Ye Qing leisurely, ”Young man, you’d better hurry; it’s not far from four o’clock now.”

Meanwhile, Mu Qingrong had been busy all morning. It was past two o’clock when she finished her work and, looking at the wall clock, she realized she had forgotten to eat lunch again. Recalling what Ye Qing had told her that morning, Mu Qingrong suddenly felt that her eating habits had indeed become too irregular lately.

Mu Qingrong walked out of her office and glanced instinctively toward Ye Qing’s desk, only to find it empty. She couldn’t help but wonder, where could Ye Qing have gone now?

To become a qualified salesperson, one needs at least a week to familiarize oneself with the products, so that they’re not flustered when going out to expand business.

Mu Qingrong had already decided that for someone as silent as Ye Qing, a week was simply not enough. She was even considering asking Wang Xuan to talk more about the essential qualities of a salesperson to Ye Qing to get him to speak more.

However, she could never have imagined that Ye Qing wasn’t diligently studying the company’s products.

Mu Qingrong approached Wang Xuan, ”Wang Xuan, where is Ye Qing?”

Upon seeing Mu Qingrong, Wang Xuan’s eyes lit up, and he smiled, ”He went to Das Company; I gave him the Das Company’s proposal this morning and let him take over the project.”

Wang Xuan’s words were actually very vague; in fact, he had little hope for the project at Das Company. The planning case was created by Huang Yun, and so Das Company directly rejected the plan. He knew this, but he didn’t tell Mu Qingrong and took the opportunity to assign the project to Ye Qing.

What was crucial was that he did not even mention the planning case to Ye Qing and directly sent him to Das Company.

Moreover, he said he had given Ye Qing the proposal for Das Company, but he didn’t specify whether the proposal was flawless. If the project succeeded, he would take the credit. If it failed, then he would lay all the blame on Ye Qing.

Mu Qingrong slightly frowned and said, ”It’s his first day; how could he directly take over a project?”

Wang Xuan shrugged helplessly, ”There’s no choice; the Feiyun Group’s project is very urgent, and several people in the department are busy with this project. Although the Das Group’s project is not big, it’s still a project, and someone needs to follow up. I wanted him to get some practice, so I gave him this project.”

Mu Qingrong knew that Wang Xuan’s words were just an excuse. The Feiyun Group’s project had a lot of potential, and Wang Xuan didn’t let his subordinates get involved, lest they take a share of the benefits that belonged to him. So, saying that several people were busy with this project meant that actually, only he was busy, and the others were idle.

By giving the Das Group’s project to Ye Qing, he was clearly setting him up.

However, Mu Qingrong couldn’t accuse Wang Xuan, as the company relied heavily on him for many things. Such incidents weren’t new, and all she could do was turn a blind eye.

”How’s the Feiyun Group’s project going?” Mu Qingrong was still very concerned about it, as this project could almost determine the survival of the company.

Wang Xuan said, ”The planning case is being perfected, and we are striving for perfection to secure this project at one stroke!”

”Hmm!” Mu Qingrong nodded, feeling some pain in her stomach. She furrowed her brows, slowly bent down to sit, and pressed below her ribs to alleviate the pain, as Ye Qing had shown her.

”What’s wrong? Is your stomach hurting again?” Wang Xuan asked with concern, ”Do you want me to buy you some medicine?”

”No need,” Mu Qingrong waved her hand, the method Ye Qing had shown her was much more effective than taking medicine.

Mu Qingrong looked at Wang Xuan, ”You should focus all your energy on the Feiyun Group’s project now; we must secure this project no matter what!”

”Don’t worry, leave everything to me!” Wang Xuan proudly smiled, his heart recalling Ye Qing with a sense of delight. Thinking about Ye Qing probably getting a hard time at Das Company, Wang Xuan couldn’t help feeling triumphant.

After all, doesn’t this company still depend on me, Wang Xuan? Mu Qingrong might treat you well, but in the end, she still has to look up to me, doesn’t she? Competing with me over a woman, what do you have to offer! Wait until you mess up the Das Company’s project, and see how I criticize you in front of Mu Qingrong.
