Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing was sitting downstairs at Das Group’s building, having spent half an hour reading through the entire project proposal from start to finish.

The proposal was indeed poorly written, but Ye Qing was only interested in the details of the project and the requirements of Das Group. After reading through the whole document, he had basically figured out how the proposal should be written.

Ye Qing majored in Mathematics in college, with minors in Material Science and Business Management. Due to his outstanding academic performance, he had followed two professors and worked with several doctoral students on quite a few substantial project proposals. These were not unfamiliar tasks to him.

The project at Das Group had a budget of just thirty thousand yuan; it was indeed a very small project. For such a proposal, it took Ye Qing just a few minutes to form a complete plan in his mind.

Ye Qing ran to a nearby kiosk to buy a pen, without having paper, so he wrote his entire plan on the back of the previous proposal.

In twenty minutes, he had completely written down the proposal. Glancing at his watch, it was only half-past three, half an hour before the scheduled time.

With the proposal in hand, Ye Qing entered the planning department of Das Group again; Liu Yuan was idly sitting in his office when he suddenly saw Ye Qing, and couldn’t help but be stunned.

”What are you doing here again?” Liu Yuan asked impatiently, thinking that Ye Qing was here to plead. He couldn’t imagine that Ye Qing could have finished the proposal in such a short time.

”I have finished the proposal.” Ye Qing handed over the file.

”So soon?” Liu Yuan took the proposal with disbelief, glanced at it, and exclaimed angrily, ”Isn’t this the same one from before?”

Ye Qing: ”The revised proposal is on the back.”

”The back?” Liu Yuan flipped the paper over, saw the handwritten words on the back, and couldn’t help but sneer, ”Man, aren’t you a bit too thrifty? Couldn’t you have printed a new copy? Having words on both sides of the paper, your company really knows how to save, huh!”

Ye Qing pretended not to hear, while Liu Yuan leisurely flipped through the proposal. However, after a while, his attention was clearly focused. When he had flipped through the entire proposal, his expression had changed.

”Did… Did you really write this?” Liu Yuan asked incredulously.

”Yes.” Ye Qing nodded.

”Did you write this in the time just now?” Liu Yuan pressed.

”Yes.”

”How... How is that possible?” Liu Yuan couldn’t believe it, especially since he was unaware that Ye Qing had also spent half an hour understanding the project beforehand, which would have surprised him even more.

Liu Yuan was in this industry, and he knew very well that although the project was small, it was not easy to deliver it in such a short time. It involved calculations of construction funds and material ratios, which required substantial computational effort.

He once had the fortune of attending a bid in the South involving three provinces and met a ’legendary genius’ graduate from Northern University who had drafted a very detailed proposal in a very short time. Ye Qing’s speed was not much slower than him!

In fact, Liu Yuan himself didn’t know that Ye Qing had spent an additional half hour understanding the project. Ye Qing’s speed was not just comparable to that man’s; it was even faster!

”Is there something wrong?” Ye Qing asked.

”Ah…” Liu Yuan was at a loss for words and took a while to regain his senses before saying, ”The proposal is detailed, very good, very impressive. If your company had submitted this type of proposal earlier, why would there have been a need for all this trouble?”

Ye Qing: ”So our project…”

”Don’t worry, I am a man of my word. Since I told you, there will be no problem with the project!” Liu Yuan picked up the phone on his desk, saying, ”Xiao Li, bring the contract for that North District project here, yes, the one for the small project!”

It wasn’t long before Liu Yuan’s subordinate brought over the contract. Liu Yuan handed it to Ye Qing, saying, ”I’ve given you the contract. For such a small project, there is no need to gather people from both sides for a signature. Take it back and have your manager look at it, and if there are no issues, just sign it, and the project will be yours!”

Taking over the contract, Ye Qing finally breathed a sigh of relief. This was his first project, and he had managed not to mess up the task entrusted by Mu Qingrong!

”Manager Liu, thank you!” Ye Qing said sincerely.

”Don’t mention it, don’t mention it, you deserve it!” Liu Yuan laughed and stood up, saying, ”Mr. Ye, you are very impressive; I really appreciate you. If all the employees of your company were like you, then our Das Company would have many opportunities to cooperate with your company in the future!”

Ye Qing said, ”I’m just new here and not familiar with many things. My colleagues in the company are doing better than I am.”

”You are quite modest, that’s good; young people should be like this.” Liu Yuan picked up a business card from nearby and handed it to Ye Qing, saying, ”This is my business card; remember to give me a call sometime to go out for tea!”

Ye Qing pocketed the business card, expressed his gratitude to Liu Yuan again, and then left with the contract.

At five-thirty in the afternoon, Ye Qing had just rushed back to the company, and it was almost time for everyone to leave work.

Wang Xuan had been waiting for Ye Qing; he wasn’t in a hurry to leave work because he wanted to mock Ye Qing in person. Seeing the figure of Ye Qing appear downstairs, a cold smile crossed Wang Xuan’s face. He got up and went to Mu Qingrong’s office; he intended to make Ye Qing lose face in front of Mu Qingrong.

Of course, to make sure Ye Qing also went to Mu Qingrong’s office, he specifically instructed Cheng Feilong, ”When Ye Qing returns, tell him to come to Director Mu’s office to see me.”

”No problem!” Cheng Feilong smirked darkly, being Wang Xuan’s lackey, he clearly knew what Wang Xuan was thinking.

As soon as Ye Qing entered the company, Cheng Feilong came forward to meet him. To see Ye Qing’s embarrassment, he had gone to great lengths, even coming to the entrance to wait for Ye Qing.

”You are finally back; hurry up to Director Mu’s office. Director Mu and Manager Wang are both waiting there; they take the Das Group project very seriously!”

Cheng Feilong deliberately made the situation sound very serious while staring unblinkingly at Ye Qing’s face, trying to find some signs of panic. However, unexpectedly, Ye Qing showed no signs of panic; instead, he walked calmly into Mu Qingrong’s office.

Wang Xuan had already seen Ye Qing enter, and deliberately turned his back to Ye Qing, pretending not to see him, and casually talked about the matters of the Feiyun Group with Mu Qingrong.

”Ye Qing, you’re back.” Mu Qingrong interrupted Wang Xuan, unwilling to listen to more of Wang Xuan’s rambling.

Ye Qing nodded and said, ”Director Mu, Manager Wang.”

Only then did Wang Xuan slowly turn around to look at Ye Qing and said, ”Ye Qing, why did you take so long? You had been out since this morning, and what time is it now? It’s already five-thirty; you’ve been out for a whole six hours. You’re too lax in your work. Our company needs efficient employees, not indiscipline slackers. Do you understand?”

Wang Xuan deliberately said this in front of Mu Qingrong, partly to belittle Ye Qing, and also to imply to Mu Qingrong that Ye Qing was not as capable as he, Wang Xuan, was.

Mu Qingrong’s elegant eyebrows furrowed, but she said nothing, only looking at Ye Qing, saying, ”It’s your first day at work, and there are many things you don’t understand. You should learn well from Manager Wang. Don’t run the external business for now; first get a solid understanding of our company’s products.”

”Director Mu, the Das Group project isn’t very big, actually, it doesn’t require much experience; anyone could do it well.” Wang Xuan looked at Ye Qing with a faint smile and said, ”Don’t you think?”

Wang Xuan believed that this deal had no hope, which is why he said such a thing. So when Ye Qing said that the project had failed, he could take the opportunity to give Ye Qing a good scolding.

However, he had miscalculated, although his plans were meticulous, he had underestimated Ye Qing’s ability.

Ye Qing nodded and said, ”The Das Group project has been secured. This is the contract from the Das Group; they have already signed it. Director Mu and Manager Wang, please look it over, and if there’s nothing wrong with it, once it’s signed, the project will be official!”

When Ye Qing handed over the contract from the Das Group to Wang Xuan, Wang Xuan’s mouth was so agape that it could have fit a duck egg. He had never expected that this doomed project would be resurrected.

Most importantly, Ye Qing was a newcomer. He hardly knew anything; how had he managed to resurrect this project?

Mu Qingrong was overjoyed. The project wasn’t big, worth just under thirty thousand yuan. However, for such projects, the company might not secure even ten in a month. Ye Qing had secured one on his first day, making her reconsider her prior concerns.
