Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing was momentarily stunned; he hadn’t considered these things. But reason told him that it would be terribly rude to say he hadn’t thought about it. So, after thinking it over, he finally blurted out a word, ”Yes!”

Fang Tingyun’s anger morphed into joy, and she half-scolded, ”If you wanted to see me again, then why didn’t you leave me your contact information?”

”I don’t have any contact information,” Ye Qing said.

”Then why didn’t you ask me for mine?” Fang Tingyun asked.

”This...” Ye Qing scratched his head and said, ”What’s your contact information then...”

”Here is my phone number!” Fang Tingyun handed Ye Qing a slip of paper. She intended to just say it aloud but wrote it down for fear that Ye Qing might forget.

Ye Qing took the slip of paper, admiring Fang Tingyun’s graceful handwriting, which was as refined as her character.

”Remember to call me when you’re free!” Fang Tingyun instructed, before reluctantly turning and leaving. However, as she walked past the street corner, her cheeks suddenly flushed bright red.

In her life, she had never thought she’d force her contact information on a strange man. Yet, what concerned her more was whether Ye Qing would actually call her.

Ye Qing, holding the slip and carrying his backpack, walked slowly in the streets of Shenchuan City. The city was so vast; he was directionless for the moment. Although he had come here to look for his younger brother, where should he start?

Next to him was an electronics mall, bustling with various noises, including a mix of news reports: ”The kidnapping that happened the day before yesterday has escalated, with the kidnappers now demanding three billion. The police have set a massive trap, and Lin Corporation clearly does not trust the police’s measures.

According to sources from the bank, there have been significant movements in Lin Corporation’s funds, believed to be a preparation to compromise with the kidnappers...”

Ye Qing walked the streets, listening to the bursts of noisy sounds, feeling somewhat lost.

On the other hand, Fang Tingyun returned to her rented house with mixed feelings.

As soon as she opened the door, a gorgeously dressed woman turned to look at her and cheered upon seeing Fang Tingyun, ”Yo, Xiao Fangfang is finally back!”

Four girls rushed out from inside the house, in addition to the glamorous woman, there was one with a tall figure dressed in professional attire, her face extremely striking. The other two, one petite with a cute, doll-like face and skin as smooth as porcelain. The other dressed simply, exuding a strong aura of bookishness, as if she couldn’t fit into this world.

Together with Fang Tingyun, these four made up five beautiful women. The glamorous one pulled Fang Tingyun into the room, while the doll-faced girl straightforwardly took Fang Tingyun’s bag and started rummaging through it, clamoring, ”Where’s the food? Where’s the food?”

”Okay, okay, could you have starved to death while I was gone?” Fang Tingyun settled on the sofa and asked, ”What’s up? Everyone is so gathered, are we having a family meeting or something?”

”That’s right; we’ve been waiting for you to have a family meeting!” the glamorous woman said. ”The landlord came by yesterday and said we must find a tenant for that empty room ASAP. If we don’t find someone, she will!”

”How can that be okay!” Fang Tingyun said anxiously. ”The last tenant she found was a thief who stole so much from us. No, she only cares about money, she would rent it to anyone!”

”Exactly!” the doll-faced girl, now nibbling on snacks she found, mumbled, ”It’s bad enough if it’s another thief, but what if it’s some sleazy man? What will we do then?”

”Right, right, we must find someone ourselves!” the glamorous woman asserted. ”So, we were waiting for you to come back. Let’s have a meeting to figure this out and settle it quickly, shall we?”

”Sounds good!” Fang Tingyun nodded. ”Why don’t we have a review meeting and only those who pass can move in!”

”I support that!” the glamorous woman was the first to nod, the doll-faced girl vigorously agreeing.

The bookish girl, without looking up, said, ”Whatever you guys decide is fine with me.”

The woman in professional attire stood up and asserted, ”As long as it’s not some smelly man moving in, anything works!”

”That’s settled then, Xiao Fangfang, let’s make a rental ad and get it out there quickly!” the glamorous woman said.

”There’s no rush, we should ask Qingyue’s opinion,” Fang Tingyun said.

”Oh, come on, she is the beauty queen of Shenda University, she won’t stay here much longer. We shouldn’t bother her with this sort of thing, we can handle it ourselves!” the glamorous woman replied.

Fang Tingyun didn’t insist and went inside to write a rental notice.

Night had fallen, and the streets of Shenchuan City were filled with neon lights. Ye Qing had been walking these streets for over four hours now. Although he was not tired, he had to start considering his accommodation options.

Now, Ye Qing had only two thousand yuan left on him. In a place like Shenchuan City, where every inch of land was worth its weight in gold, staying in a hotel was definitely out of the question.

After eating a bowl of noodles at a street stall, Ye Qing walked out of the downtown area and headed to the more secluded Eastern Suburb.

Before arriving, Ye Qing had already learned about Shenchuan City. Located fifteen kilometers from the downtown area, the Eastern Suburb had an abandoned industrial zone that housed many derelict factories, which were quite suitable for Ye Qing’s accommodation.

Ye Qing used to go out for training exercises and had often stayed in desolate areas. For him, a place that provided shelter from wind and rain was enough.

The fifteen kilometers distance took him less than an hour to cover. The factory zone was pitch-dark, with no households nearby, and from afar, it looked quite eerie and somewhat terrifying.

Ye Qing walked straight in, unafraid of life or death after having emerged from battles of bullets and barrages, let alone the dark.

The factory area was filled with discarded equipment, which, in the dimness, resembled ferocious beasts snarling in the darkness.

Ye Qing swept an area clean, gathered several wooden planks to assemble a makeshift bed, and spread some bedding, creating a simple bunk.

Ye Qing sat cross-legged on the bed and didn’t go straight to sleep. Instead, he took out the Acupoint Seeking Technique and, lighting a candle, continued to study it.

The Acupoint Seeking Technique included methods for cultivating Inner Strength, and Ye Qing had committed these methods to memory long ago. However, the meridians and acupoints recorded were quite complex; even with complete remembrance, confusion was inevitable, especially since each acupoint and meridian corresponded to specific life characteristics of the human body, which was critical.

After reviewing the human body’s acupoints and meridians from start to finish and reciting them silently, Ye Qing put down the book, settled cross-legged, and followed the techniques recorded for breathing and exhaling.

Inner Strength, in reality, was the stimulation of human potential. This potential arises from the interaction among various organs of the body.

To put it simply, studies have shown that everyone’s brain is the same. But why are some called geniuses while most lead mediocre lives?

This is related to the utilization rate of the brain. It is said that even those who are best at using their brain can only develop ten percent of their brain’s capability. What could be achieved if one were to fully harness the potential of the human brain?

In fact, it’s the same with all body organs. Every organ can’t fully unleash its potential, and cultivating Neijia Kung Fu is a method to stimulate these potentials.

Laboratories worldwide had tried using electric shocks or drugs to stimulate the body organs to unlock potential. These methods have proven to be effective in temporarily stimulating the organs but also cause significant harm to the human body.

Neijia Kung Fu, however, utilizes the Breathing Method, coordinating various skills within the body to enhance potential. Therefore, Neijia Kung Fu is also known as Internal Breath and is extremely time-consuming to cultivate, as breathing is a gradual process.

However, once one achieves proficiency in Neijia Kung Fu, not only is the power remarkable, but it also increases one’s lifespan. After all, death in humans is often due to the complete loss of vitality in some part of the body. Neijia Kung Fu can stimulate and strengthen body organs, thus also having a life-extending effect.

For example, Zhang Sanfeng, the foremost practitioner of Neijia Kung Fu, lived over two hundred years. Setting aside whether there were embellishments in the tales, his longevity wasn’t false. In an era when the average lifespan didn’t exceed fifty, such longevity was rare and owed to the body organs being strengthened through Neijia Kung Fu.

In fact, not only Neijia Kung Fu, but External Kung Fu can also keep one healthy. Those who train regularly generally live longer lives.

Ye Qing sat quietly, breathing in and out according to the methods recorded in the Acupoint Seeking Technique, feeling the changes in various parts of his body. This method of breathing allowed the energy to flow through the meridians to different parts of the body, gradually activating these organs with each breath.

Ye Qing continued this for two hours but couldn’t feel the flow of energy. However, he wasn’t concerned, as cultivating Neijia Kung Fu was not something that could be achieved overnight.

However, if one does succeed in cultivating Neijia Kung Fu, the effects are incredibly powerful. For instance, like the time he saved someone on the train yesterday. The sudden epileptic episode was an acute illness – it came quickly and could be resolved by ordinary massage. However, for more stubborn diseases like rheumatic blood stagnation, ordinary massage wouldn’t suffice.

It required the use of Neijia Kung Fu to penetrate through the meridians and acupoints.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, because there is no Neijia Kung Fu to penetrate the meridians and acupoints, acupuncture was developed to pierce through these points. But the effects of acupuncture cannot compare with those achieved through Neijia Kung Fu.

Based on the records of meridians and acupoints in the Acupoint Seeking Technique, if Ye Qing could succeed in cultivating Neijia Kung Fu, even if he couldn’t find a job later, he could at least work as a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

After packing up the Acupoint Seeking Technique, Ye Qing lay down in his clothes and fell asleep on the cot. Tomorrow, he would start searching for his younger brother!
