Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing quickly ran to the person’s side, while several bystanders were still panicking, unsure of what to do.

Ye Qing grabbed the tablecloth from a nearby table, crumpled it into a ball, and stuffed it into the patient’s mouth to ensure he wouldn’t bite his tongue off.

At the same time, Ye Qing laid the patient flat, pressing down on his leg with his left hand while continuously patting his chest with his right hand.

The patient struggled violently, trying to push Ye Qing’s arms away.

”Help, hold his hands!” Ye Qing urged urgently.

No one dared to intervene; it would be fine if the person was saved, but if he died here, anyone who touched him would be in trouble later!

Ye Qing was somewhat anxious; he was trying to save the man using the techniques from the Acupoint Seeking Technique. The Acupoint Seeking Technique contained methods to treat these conditions, which involved massaging acupoints to relieve the pressure in his blood vessels. But now, the patient’s incessant struggling made it impossible to massage his acupoints.

”I’ll do it!”

The girl sitting opposite Ye Qing ran over and, without a word, held the patient’s hands down.

”Hey, he’s not a doctor; if this guy dies, you’ll be responsible!” a young man shouted from behind.

The girl looked up at Ye Qing and said, ”Hurry up!”

Ye Qing did not pause, continuously kneading the patient’s acupoints with his right hand. After a while, the patient’s struggles slowly subsided, the spasms throughout his body gradually ceased, and he slowly regained consciousness.

At this moment, several people ran over from the other side of the carriage, led by a man in his thirties.

”Make way, make way, the doctor is here!” a train attendant announced, and the group approached.

The man bent down to look at the patient and said, ”What’s going on here, there’s no problem now, right?”

”What?” Everyone was stunned, and at that moment, the patient slowly sat up, taking a long breath.

The man looked at the condition of the patient and exclaimed, ”Did you really have an attack just now?”

The patient nodded; there were some white foam on the ground from his vomiting.

The man exclaimed in surprise, ”Strange, once epilepsy happens, it can’t be controlled without medication; how come you are fine now?”

The entire carriage looked toward Ye Qing, and the patient also turned to Ye Qing, saying tremulously, ”Big brother, you... you saved my life...”

Ye Qing wiped the sweat from his forehead; this was his first time saving someone using the techniques from the Acupoint Seeking Technique, and he wasn’t sure about its effectiveness. Unexpectedly, the results were quite remarkable.

”It’s good that you’re okay,” Ye Qing uttered softly, slowly walking back to his seat.

The people in the carriage looked at Ye Qing, and after a long while, the carriage suddenly erupted in a roar of applause and cheers.

Previously, Ye Qing had informed them that the magnetic therapy necklace was fake, saving many from being deceived. And now, having just saved a life, the admiration for him had grown even more profound.

The girl followed behind Ye Qing, her eyes filled with an array of emotions. Among everyone, only the young man’s expression grew darker. He couldn’t comprehend how an uneducated veteran had outshone him, a graduate from a prestigious university, and he had lost so miserably; what the hell was going on?

The man treated the patient again, confirming he was alright, which reassured the train attendants.

”Doctor Lin, we really appreciate your patience,” an attendant said apologetically, ”It was an emergency, and there was nothing we could do.”

”It’s okay, I understand, ’doctors have a parent’s heart’. Even if you hadn’t called me, as a doctor, it’s my duty to come over!” the man said with a gentle smile.

”We disturbed your rest, really sorry about that. Let me escort you back!” the attendant said.

”Wait a bit; you go ahead, I’ll come back in a while.”

The man approached Ye Qing and extended his hand, ”Hello, I’m Lin Tianyou!”

Ye Qing didn’t want to talk much, but since the man was being polite, he couldn’t just ignore him.

”Ye Qing!” Ye Qing casually shook hands with Lin Tianyou but wasn’t prepared to say much more.

However, Lin Tianyou didn’t plan on leaving. He still stood there, smiling, ”My friend, do you also understand medical techniques?”

”My grandfather was a barefoot doctor; I picked up a bit from him,” Ye Qing replied, of course, he couldn’t mention anything about the Acupoint Seeking Technique.

”The way you saved that man was quite skillful indeed!” Lin Tianyou genuinely praised.

Ye Qing didn’t respond, but Lin Tianyou didn’t find it awkward and continued, ”Could you tell me how you treated such an acute case without any instruments?”

Ye Qing looked at Lin Tianyou, who appeared very humble, clearly not planning to leave without an answer.

Ye Qing, having no choice, casually mentioned a few acupoint names and told him that it was the result of such a massage.

”Traditional Chinese Medicine!” Lin Tianyou’s eyes lit up as he said, ”In my early years, I heard my grandfather mention that methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine are bizarre and magical, but in recent years, Western medicine has prevailed, and we seldom see renowned Traditional Chinese Medicine experts anymore. I never expected that such a master would actually be among the common folk!”

Ye Qing was full of helplessness. It seemed that Lin Tianyou was really interested in medical techniques.

Lin Tianyou asked Ye Qing a few more questions, mainly trying to find out about Ye Qing’s grandfather. Ye Qing casually brushed off the inquiries, telling him his grandfather had passed away, which left Lin Tianyou feeling somewhat regretful.

Lin Tianyou stood there and talked with Ye Qing for over half an hour, during which he asked about some emergency treatment methods. Ye Qing only answered three of them, yet it left Lin Tianyou tremendously impressed.

”Listening to Mr. Ye here really broadened my horizons!” Lin Tianyou took out a business card and handed it to Ye Qing, saying, ”This is my card. Mr. Ye, if you have time someday, you must come visit me so we can discuss medical techniques further!”

Ye Qing took the business card, responding casually. Lin Tianyou left with a light smile, evidently excited from learning three techniques from Ye Qing.

Watching Lin Tianyou’s retreating figure, the young man couldn’t help but spit, saying, ”What a load of nonsense from a useless guy. He hasn’t talked enough along the way, he wants to continue the nonsense further?”

Not long after Lin Tianyou left, an elderly man sitting behind Ye Qing suddenly stood up and said, ”Young brother, could I take a look at that business card?”

Ye Qing handed over the business card; the elderly man glanced at it, widened his eyes, and said, ”Changshan Hospital, it really is him!”

”Do you know this chatterbox?” the young man asked, glaring.

The elderly man looked at him with dissatisfaction and said, ”Young man, what do you know? Do you know who he is? The youngest chief physician at Chang Shan Hospital, returned from overseas studies at the age of twenty-eight, one of the top experts in neurology and internal medicine nationwide. Lin Tianyou’s name is more well-known than the mayor’s in the wealthy circles of Shenchuan City!”

The young man was stunned and stared wide-eyed: ”You... you’re kidding, right...?”

”Old sir, are you talking about Chang Shan Hospital’s Doctor Lin Tianyou?” another man on the other side said excitedly.

”Who else could it be!” the elder replied.

”Oh my god, so he is Lin Tianyou!” the man slapped his forehead and stomped his feet, ”Just now, when I heard the name Lin Tianyou, I didn’t even dare to associate it with Chang Shan Hospital. I can’t believe... can’t believe it’s really him. Oh my goodness, he... he’s so young!”

”Is he really the Divine Doctor Lin Tianyou?”

”So young!”

Many people in the car knew this name, and the discussion arose again. Regarding Lin Tianyou, most talked about how he achieved greatness at a young age, his medical skills were astonishing, and he saved countless lives, with not a single negative comment.

As for the young man who had just spoken, quite a few people scolded him. His remarks about Ye Qing were no big deal, but insulting Lin Tianyou upset many!

Ye Qing was also somewhat astonished, not expecting this man to have such a title. Thinking about it, him standing there and talking to him for half an hour did seem somewhat humble!

The girl was astonished by Lin Tianyou’s identity, but her attention was more focused on Ye Qing. Although it was her first meeting with Ye Qing today, she suddenly felt that this man had a charm about him, an indescribable appeal.

After these events, the young man, criticized by others, dared not say another word the rest of the trip.

As for the girl, she occasionally spoke to Ye Qing. However, Qing was rather quiet, often not replying much even after several remarks from the girl. Yet, along the way, he did get to know her a bit better.

The girl’s name was Fang Tingyun, who, after graduating from university, had been working in Shenchuan City for two years and was far more familiar with Shenchuan City than Ye Qing.

Fang Tingyun earnestly said, ”Are you here looking for a job? Our company is hiring security guards; would you like to take a look?”

Ye Qing shook his head. Fang Tingyun seemed embarrassed and said in a low voice, ”I know security guard doesn’t sound like a great job, but we all have to start somewhere...”

Ye Qing shook his head to indicate that he was not here to look for a job, clearly a misunderstanding by Fang Tingyun.

”I’m here to take care of some business, not to find a job,” Ye Qing clarified, and Fang Tingyun was no longer embarrassed.

The next morning, the train finally arrived at Shenchuan City Train Station. The young man seated next to Ye Qing was the first to get off the train. He had felt extremely awkward the entire night, especially as Fang Tingyun grew more enthusiastic towards Ye Qing, which made him even more jealous.

Fang Tingyun followed Ye Qing off the train. Ye Qing had no specific destination and walked straight out of the station. Fang Tingyun followed closely and finally couldn’t help but catch up with Ye Qing, asking, ”Where are you going to handle your business?”

”I... I’ll just wander around first,” Ye Qing said.

”But I have to go back now!” Fang Tingyun looked at him, her eyes filled with expectation.

Ye Qing didn’t understand what Fang Tingyun meant and said, ”Okay.”

Fang Tingyun, greatly disappointed, turned and left. However, after walking a few steps and looking back, she saw that Ye Qing hadn’t followed her, which made her feel a bit afraid.

After hesitating for a moment, Fang Tingyun suddenly turned around and caught up with Ye Qing, asking, ”Don’t you want to leave me some contact information or something?”

”I don’t have any contact information,” Ye Qing said honestly; he didn’t even own a cell phone.

”So you don’t want to see me again?” Fang Tingyun said, her face turning red. She couldn’t believe she had said something so bold.
