Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing stopped living in that factory zone after the girl was sent back, knowing the police would surely come here soon.

Not wanting any trouble, he had to focus all his time and energy on finding his brother, rather than socializing here.

Ye Qing moved to a different location and stored his belongings under an old bridge in the city. This old bridge had been abandoned for many years, with few people passing by, and even fewer noticing the space beneath it.

In the afternoon, Ye Qing finally caught up with the group of disabled beggars. Like the children before them, these disabled people were also controlled and lived in a secluded courtyard.

Ye Qing climbed to the top of the courtyard wall, and the situation below was clear at a glance.

Six people were guarding the courtyard, and the disabled people were treated much worse than the children. The children couldn’t withstand rough treatment, and those controlling them feared killing them, so they mostly resorted to intimidation. The disabled, however, were mostly adults who could endure more, so if they failed to complete tasks, they were punished with beatings.

From atop the wall, Ye Qing clearly saw more than twenty disabled people slumped on the ground. In front of each person was a dish of leftovers, with no vegetables. But for these people, who had been hungry all day, it was already the best delicacy.

Some of the disabled, with one hand, held their plates and ate voraciously with their mouths. Others, without hands, had to eat from the ground like dogs. However, they all seemed to enjoy the food, after all, they had been starving for far too long.

On the other side of the courtyard were several pillars, with three disabled people tied up by their hands and suspended below, while three others below them wielded leather whips to lash at them.

Another three laughed on the side, occasionally teasing the whip wielders for being too weak, saying their blows didn’t hurt.

The mocked men, naturally not wanting to be outdone, struck even harder. After a few lashes, they switched roles; it turned out they were competing to see who could hit harder.

The three disabled people were already at their last gasp and, being whipped so, were covered in wounds. They begged for mercy repeatedly, but received not a shred of pity from their tormentors. On the contrary, the more pitifully the disabled cried, the more excited these men seemed to get.

In the main house on the other side, screams of agony occasionally emanated, with unknown horrors happening within.

Ye Qing, with rage splitting his eyes, jumped down from the wall and charged straight toward the six men.

The six men were taken aback at the sight of Ye Qing, with one of them asking in amazement, ”What are you here for?”

”Shit, do we even need to ask? He’s definitely not one of us!” snarled another man, staring at Ye Qing with a vicious smile. ”Damn, I’ve been doing this all my life and this is the first time someone’s walked right up. Brothers, take him out and we’ll have an extra stall tomorrow!”

Two of the men approached Ye Qing, one of them reaching out to grab him, seemingly taking Ye Qing for granted as an easy catch.

Ye Qing allowed his hand to come closer, then grabbed his wrist and delivered a punch straight to the man’s mouth.

The man stumbled backward several steps, spitting out several mouthfuls of blood, along with seven or eight teeth. Ye Qing’s punch knocked all the teeth out of the man’s front gums!

The other five paused in shock while the punched man, clutching his mouth, backed away stuttering, ”Kill him... kill him...”

”Destroy him!” another man shouted, flinging his whip towards Ye Qing.

Ye Qing didn’t flinch. As the whip neared his face, he swiftly grabbed the tail end. With a strong pull, the whip was yanked out of the man’s hand.

Ye Qing, now holding the whip, swung it hard and immediately struck one of the men in the face.

The whip, made of cow tendon, was incredibly tough and long, and its power was terrifying. Ye Qing’s strike split the skin on the man’s entire right cheek open. He squatted on the ground, holding his face and howling in agony, the intense pain rendering him unable to stand.

The other four recoiled in fright. Ye Qing’s strength was fearsome, and his aim remarkable.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Ye Qing lashed out with another strike. The targeted man’s face drained of color as he bent over in a desperate attempt to dodge. However, he was too slow; turning around, he was struck in the head by Ye Qing’s whip and immediately collapsed, no longer able to rise.

”Who the hell are you?” one of the men roared, never having encountered such a formidable person.

”This is Brother Lin’s turf, do you know what happens when you offend Brother Lin?” another shouted.

Ye Qing frowned at the mention of Brother Lin. It seemed that this Brother Lin was indeed deeply evil.

Ye Qing didn’t care about any Brother Lin, and cracked his whip again. This time the man managed to evade, but Ye Qing quickly retracted the whip, curling it back to strike the man’s back, tearing his clothes and flesh open.

The remaining two dared not linger and ran towards the main house.

Ye Qing threw down the whip, which he still found awkward to handle.

As he entered the main house, a machete swung at him head-on.

Ye Qing charged forward, using his body to knock the attacker flying, the blade missing him completely.

He advanced another step, grabbing the neck of the second man and letting out a thunderous shout that rang in the man’s eardrums, leaving him temporarily deaf and forgetting to swing his machete.

Ye Qing kicked him in the chest, sending him sprawling. Yet, Ye Qing didn’t let him off; he delivered a swift kick to the back of his head, and the man collapsed, motionless.

Three others were left in the house, feeling their limbs go weak at the sight.

”Boss, what exactly do you want? Just tell us, and if... if we’ve offended you in any way, we apologize. Please spare us...” one man said, his voice trembling.

Ye Qing paid no attention to him, only gazing at the main room.

On the floor of the main room lay five people, three of whom were still whole, while the other two were missing an arm and a leg each, turned into disabled persons. Scattered across the ground were severed limbs, and blood continued to flow; it seemed these two had just had their limbs chopped off. The three others were in line, waiting for their turn to be mutilated!

Thinking of how his younger brother Ye Jun had once been one of them, Ye Qing’s eyes turned blood-red. He suddenly turned his head to look at the three men; they all shuddered, one of them so scared that he wet himself.

”Spare you?” Ye Qing looked at the three men with cold eyes and said in a deep voice, ”Fine!”

The three men were overjoyed, quickly saying, ”Thank you, Brother, thank you, Brother...”

”No need to thank me!” Ye Qing said coldly, ”I’ll give you a chance. Whoever can withstand one punch from me can go!”

The three men looked at each other, and the most robust man among them stepped forward, saying, ”I’ll do it!”

Without wasting words, Ye Qing strode over and threw a heavy punch towards the man’s chest.

The man crossed his arms in front of his chest, hoping to block the punch with both arms. However, when his arms came into contact with Ye Qing’s fist, an overwhelming force crazily surged through, and his arms were involuntarily scattered. Ye Qing’s punch, barely diminished, still landed squarely on his chest.

The man’s chest instantly caved in, most of his ribs broken by Ye Qing’s punch. He fell to the ground, spitting blood, his body convulsively twitching.

The remaining two were stunned; this man was the strongest among them. Yet, even with both hands together, he couldn’t block a single punch from Ye Qing. Was... was Ye Qing even human?

Ye Qing looked at the other two: ”Your turn!”

”Brother, no... don’t play anymore. How can we withstand your punch?” one of them said with a quivering voice, ”Brother, please spare us, we really don’t know what we did wrong...”

”I gave you a chance. Withstand one punch, and you can leave. If you can’t...” Ye Qing’s eyes suddenly turned icy, spitting out two words, ”Then die!”

The two men shuddered. They had no doubt about the truth of Ye Qing’s words. The condition of the few men Ye Qing had beaten in the yard, and the injured state of the man just now, bore witness to this. Without question, Ye Qing would not show mercy, and if he said he would kill them, nobody doubted his sincerity!

”Brother, stop playing. We really can’t do it!”

Ye Qing, unwilling to waste words, strode forward, fists poised, and struck at the two men.

Forced into a corner, both men had no choice but to brace themselves for the impending blows. One crossed his arms, attempting to block the punch as the robust man had done. The other turned around, hoping to block the punch with his back.

The one with crossed arms, of course, followed in the footsteps of the robust man, with most of his ribs broken.

As for the one who used his back to block: he fared even worse. Ye Qing’s punch broke his spine, and as he lay on the ground, his body numb, there was no doubt he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, even if he survived.

Looking at the disabled persons lying on the ground, most of them were young men barely eighteen or old men who had lost their strength. The young, inexperienced, and naive, were tricked their first time out of home, while the elderly, defenseless and more likely to garner sympathy, were their prime targets.

All of them were whole and healthy, venturing out for the sake of livelihood, for their families. Yet, they were turned into disabled persons, forcibly separated from their families, begging every day, unable to get enough food, all while enduring abuse.

Ye Qing was not a cruel person, but he was one of principle. To the good, he was kind, but to the wicked, he was fiercer than evil itself!

Without any hesitation, Ye Qing disabled each of the men, thoroughly breaking their limbs.

”Why... why are you doing this...” one man said, trembling, ”Where did we offend you for you to ruin us like this?”

”What about them? Did they offend you?” Ye Qing pointed at the disabled beggars and asked in a stern voice, ”Did you think about how they felt when you disabled them?”

”Who... who the hell are you? Are you a cop?”

”I’m glad I’m not a cop because cops are bound by regulations. But I’m not!” Ye Qing said quietly, looking at the men, ”You like to cripple people and send them out to beg, right? Well, now I’m giving you a taste of their experience. You can go out and beg too!”

”You madman, you’ve completely destroyed us, you’ve ruined my life!” one man cried out loud, ”You’ll get yours!”

”If there’s retribution, I’ll be waiting!” Ye Qing said with a cold glance over the group, ”But, your retribution has already come. This is your retribution!”

Having said that, Ye Qing turned and entered the inner room, bringing out all the disabled persons.

Seeing the injured state of the few men, the disabled persons all had bloodshot eyes, and some even went mad, pouncing on them, kicking and beating them. Those without hands joined in too, biting the men fiercely, venting their deep-seated hatred.

They had suffered far too much oppression, wishing to kill these men but knowing it was only a fantasy. Today, someone had avenged them, and joy of retribution was clear on the faces of these disabled persons.

When they finally calmed down, the battered men were scarcely recognizable as human and were at their last gasp.

Ye Qing gathered all the disabled persons together, took out a photo of Ye Jun, and asked solemnly, ”Has anyone seen this man?”

The people looked at the photo, but all shook their heads.

Ye Qing felt disappointed; apparently, Ye Jun wasn’t among this group.

Ye Qing didn’t linger. After stepping out of the yard, he called the police, and then he left.
