Urban Martial Saint

Ever since she left Ye Qing with her contact information last time, Fang Tingyun had been looking forward to seeing Ye Qing again and receiving a phone call from him.

However, after that encounter, Ye Qing seemed to vanish from the face of the earth, never appearing again. Except in her dreams, there was no news of Ye Qing. Even the Ye Qing in her dreams was starting to become less and less distinct.

Fang Tingyun was scared, she had never cared for someone so much before. Even though she had only met him once, his character, the way he handled things, it was all strikingly similar to the White Horse Prince she had envisioned since she was little. How could she not yearn for him when the figure from her fantasies had finally appeared before her?

Though she appeared strong every day as if nothing had happened, upon seeing Ye Qing again, she could no longer hold back, and tears flowed just like her longing, impossible to suppress.

Ye Qing was also surprised to see Fang Tingyun. He had never imagined he’d encounter that graceful girl from the train in this place.

Ye Qing walked over and Fang Tingyun had already quietly wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, but they were still moist.

”You... why are you here?” Ye Qing asked with surprise.

”I live here,” Fang Tingyun’s voice was still trembling, a tremor of overwhelming excitement.

”Oh,” Ye Qing suddenly realized.

”And you? What brings you here?” Fang Tingyun looked at Ye Qing, hoping he would say that he came for her.

”I am here to rent a room,” Ye Qing answered honestly, holding a rental advertisement in his hand.

”Rent a room?” Fang Tingyun thought of her rental advertisement and couldn’t help but feel a mix of laughter and tears. That prank-torn rental ad had brought them quite a bit of trouble. But unexpectedly, it also brought her the person she had been longing for.

Ye Qing said, ”But now it’s not necessary, that rental ad isn’t clear. It’s only for girls. I plan to look elsewhere, to settle this matter quickly.”

Seeing that Ye Qing seemed ready to leave, Fang Tingyun hurriedly said, ”I... I have a room at my place.”

Ye Qing glanced at her, shaking his head, ”It’s not convenient. You are a girl; I’d better find a guy to share with.”

”It’s fine, very convenient. It’s not just me living there,” Fang Tingyun quickly grasped Ye Qing’s arm, ”You could at least come and see my place first!”

Ye Qing hesitated, but Fang Tingyun had already dragged him upstairs.

”This is your place?” Ye Qing looked at the doorway, ”Did you put up that rental ad? Weren’t you only looking for a girl? It’s not convenient for me to go in...”

”The key is to find a reliable tenant, gender isn’t important. What’s important is that they’re good people,” Fang Tingyun practically pushed Ye Qing into the room, ”Just go in and take a look.”

Chen Keai and Huo Pingping were sitting on the couch discussing why Fang Tingyun had been so loud just now when suddenly they saw her pushing a man in military attire into the room, and both girls were stunned.

”Um, let me introduce...” Fang Tingyun pulled Ye Qing into the living room, ”This is my friend Ye Qing who is looking for a room. And these two are friends co-renting with me. This is Chen Keai, and this is Huo Pingping!”

Looking at the two girls, Ye Qing felt a bit awkward and whispered, ”I... I think I’ll just rent somewhere else. It’s not convenient for me to be here with so many girls...”

”No worries, it’s very convenient!” Fang Tingyun waved her hands repeatedly, and both Chen Keai and Huo Pingping were round-eyed with surprise.

”How is it convenient?” Both women were thinking the same question in their minds.

Fang Tingyun kept winking at the two women, who had no idea what she meant and dared not say more, but they were both wondering what Fang Tingyun was up to.

”Just go and check out the room, we can talk about the other things later,” Fang Tingyun pushed Ye Qing into one of the vacant rooms and pulled Chen Keai and Huo Pingping into another.

”Xiao Fangfang, what are you doing!” Chen Keai’s cute eyes widened in disbelief, ”Why did you let a stinky man in here?”

Fang Tingyun said, ”He’s my friend, a really good guy, and trustworthy. With him here, you don’t have to worry about anything!”

”No matter how good, he’s still a guy, and that’s totally inconvenient. This is a girls’ apartment, you know!” Chen Keai protested.

”Xiao Fangfang, don’t tell me you’ve fallen for him?” Huo Pingping inquired doubtfully.

Fang Tingyun’s face flushed, ”Please just help me out. It’ll be fine with him here, he’s really a good guy, truly!”

”You’ve definitely fallen for him!” Huo Pingping exclaimed, standing up, ”You’re using public resources for personal gain!”

”Xiao Fangfang, personal feelings shouldn’t be mixed into this!” Chen Keai earnestly advised.

”Oh come on, you two!” Fang Tingyun waved her hand, ”Don’t forget, when several girls live here, there are always some unsettling things happening outside. Tell me, how many undergarments have we lost? Having a guy here could at least maintain some order, right?”

The two women curled their lips, and Huo Pingping said, ”Losing undergarments isn’t a big deal, but having a guy living here, that’s a different story!”

”What’s so different about it? They’re all people,” Fang Tingyun insisted, about to continue, when Ye Qing came out from the other room.

”Listen to me, both of you, this person must stay, got it?” Fang Tingyun whispered threateningly, and the two women shrugged their shoulders, showing faces of resignation.

Fang Tingyun greeted Ye Qing with a smile, ”What do you think? The room is nice, right? The price is reasonable too, very suitable for living!”

Ye Qing said, ”The room is indeed nice, but have you felt that there’s something not quite right about that room?”

”Not right? What’s wrong with it?” Chen Keai and Huo Pingping asked in surprise at the same time.

”Come in and have a look.” Ye Qing led the three women into the room, pointed to the upper corner of a cabinet, and said, ”Why would there be a pinhole camera in a bedroom?”

”A pinhole camera?” All three women exclaimed in shock, looking carefully but still not seeing any camera.

”You didn’t install it yourselves?” Ye Qingqi asked.

”Of course not!” Huo Pingping said anxiously, ”There... someone installed a camera here?”

Ye Qing frowned, reached out to grab the corner, and after scratching a few times, dislodged a tiny camera.

The three women’s faces changed drastically when they saw the camera. The presence of a camera in the bedroom was terrifying, especially for a girls’ room!

Looking at the camera, Ye Qing said gravely, ”If the camera wasn’t installed by you, then this is a problem.”

The women’s hearts pounded with the realization that if there was a camera in the bedroom, their every move was potentially being watched by others.

”What about the other places? Are there any more?” Chen Keai asked anxiously.

”Check my room first!” Huo Pingping almost dragged Ye Qing out with her.

Ye Qing walked a circle around Huo Pingping’s room and found a pinhole camera underneath the curtains.

The sight of the camera struck Huo Pingping as if she had been slapped, and she stood frozen.

”My room, my room, hurry and take a look!” Chen Keai urged.

Ye Qing entered her room, searched, and found another camera.

Fang Tingyun’s room also had a camera.

The sight of the four pinhole cameras laid out on the table made the three women feel as if they’d lost all their strength and they slumped onto the sofa, speechless.

Ye Qing furrowed his brows, the situation was too severe. Cameras in the bedroom meant the privacy of these girls was completely violated.

”Who exactly would install the cameras?” Chen Keai, hand propping up her face, said dejectedly, ”We have no idea how long they have been there. Doesn’t it mean that we’ve been watched changing clothes at home?”

Fang Tingyun’s face turned bright red with embarrassment. How could such a disgraceful thing happen just when Ye Qing arrived?

Yet, upon second thought, if it weren’t for Ye Qing finding these cameras, they might still be in the dark. Moreover, if something compromising had been captured and leaked, it could ruin their lives.

Huo Pingping said solemnly, ”Stop it with the nonsense. Those cameras must have been there for a while. If there was anything to capture, it’s likely already been done. The key issue now is how we handle this situation.”

As they were discussing, the door opened, and a girl exuding an aura of scholarship walked in, clutching a few books. Her black hair draped over her shoulders, and her delicate features gave her the air of the girl next door.

”Mo Xiang, you’re back!” Chen Keai was the first to get up, eager, ”Hurry, hurry, check your room for any cameras.”

”What camera?” Mo Xiang looked bewildered, especially when she saw Ye Qing, her confusion deepened.

It was rare for a man to enter their apartment, and the expressions on the three women’s faces didn’t look good at all.

”Stop talking and open your door quick!” Chen Keai snatched the keys from Mo Xiang’s hands, rushed to open the door, and called Ye Qing, ”Come on, come and take a look.”

”Cutie, what are you doing?” Mo Xiang, in a panic, was the most conservative among the girls. How could she let a strange man into her private room?

Ye Qing, not aware of Mo Xiang’s character and intent on helping, got up and walked over. But before he could enter, Mo Xiang blocked him.

”What are you doing!” Mo Xiang asked urgently, her eyes holding a hint of hostility towards Ye Qing.

”Ah, Mo Xiang, you got it wrong,” Huo Pingping pulled Mo Xiang aside, ”This Soldier Brother is Xiao Fangfang’s friend. He discovered pinhole cameras in our home. We found them in our bedrooms, so we wanted him to check yours to make sure there’s no danger.”

Still half in doubt, Mo Xiang watched as Ye Qing entered the room, made a round and found a pinhole camera hidden on the corner clothes rack.

Staring at the camera, Mo Xiang was stunned. Seeing the camera found in her room with her own eyes meant that all these days, she had been living under surveillance!

”How could... how could this happen?” Mo Xiang’s face lost its color as she struggled to maintain her composure for the first time.

”What’s going on?” A cold voice came from the door. Everyone turned to see a stunning woman just entering.

Seeing the striking woman, Ye Qing was taken aback and asked, ”How is it you?”
