Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 272: Chapter 254: Hoarding a Bunch of Food

The food in the canteen wasn’t as bad as Luo Qianqian had anticipated, it was at least better than instant noodles. Luo Qianqian held half a lunchbox while He Wenyu took the other half. She was eating the food inside without having gotten rice as she didn’t yet want to eat rice soaked in soup and only took a steamed bun.

When they returned to the dorm after eating, they saw that He Wenyu and Li Qi had already come back, and there was a crate of water placed in the middle of the room.

”How fast did you eat? You bought water back already? How much? Let’s split the cost,” Luo Qianqian said, suggesting they share the expense, but her gaze fell on Zhao Shiyu. The other two girls had already bought their own water.

”Why are you looking at me? I won’t drink your stuff; who knows if it’s poisoned?” Zhao Shiyu huffed coldly and turned to leave the dorm.

Luo Qianqian’s hand, which was collecting money, stopped, ”One crate of water probably isn’t enough. Counting Xiao Xue, that’s five people, and one crate has only twenty-four bottles, which is enough for just two days. I’ll pay for the water next time. We can take turns.”

Chu Ci looked at Luo Qianqian with amusement in her eyes. Just to drive Zhao Shiyu out, was it necessary to use such a tactic?

”Alright, let’s record it quickly,” Luo Qianqian said as she took out paper and pen to start keeping records. Then she locked her valuables in a trunk and told Li Qi and the other two girls from her class to stay alert.

Luo Qianqian pulled out the only large bill she had, a fifty, which Luo’s Mom had given her, fearing she would lose weight. Shufan was a bit more generous, giving her a bunch of ten and five bills; though it totaled a hundred, it didn’t seem like much.

”Qianqian, it seems your brother is looking for you...” He Wenyu had just gone to the bathroom when she saw the handsome instructor standing at the dormitory door with a gloomy, constipated expression. Male visitors were not allowed in the girls’ dormitory except during check-ups for cleanliness and interior affairs, not even instructors or homeroom teachers.

”I seem to have forgotten something...” Luo Qianqian stuck out her tongue, quickly packed up her things, and then turned to He Wenyu, ”Give me a piece of your hoarded food. I’m going to butter up my brother.”

”As if your brother the sister-complex needs buttering up,” He Wenyu swiftly took out a piece of cake, ”Tell your brother it’s my treat. Spare me a bit in the coming days.”

”Saying that will definitely get you his special attention,” Luo Qianqian understood Luo Yanhai’s temperament, a smirk appeared on her lips, ”If you really insist, I could fulfill that request for you.”

”Forget it,” He Wenyu waved a hand, bending down to organize her things.

Luo Qianqian bounced down the stairs to find Luo Yanhai holding a big bag filled to the brim with who-knows-what. She walked over with a big smile, ”Big Bro.”

Luo Yanhai, already growing impatient while considering whether to call her or to climb over the wall, frowned upon hearing Luo Qianqian’s cheerful voice, ”Didn’t I tell you to wait for me?”

”I forgot, okay?” Luo Qianqian swayed Luo Yanhai’s arm.

Luo Yanhai was taken aback, his face turning red as he moved his arm away, ”This is a military area. Be serious.”

”Alright, no problem,” Luo Qianqian pouted, feeling aggrieved, ”And there I was getting you cake, hmph.” She then stuffed the cake underneath her military training uniform, puffed up her stomach, and ignored everyone.

Seeing Luo Qianqian’s behavior, Luo Yanhai thought the cake had made her late and that he had misunderstood his sister. He quickly tried to console her, ”Look, Big Bro also brought you snacks. There are plum candies and yogurt candies you like.”

He hurriedly opened the bag for Luo Qianqian to see the contents, ”Here, I’ve bought some things, including yogurt. I’ll bring it to you every day from now on, so don’t be upset.” If the old master knew about this, wouldn’t he skin him alive?

”Fine,” Luo Qianqian nodded happily, ”Then the little cake is for you.” As she spoke, she took the small cake box out from her embrace again.

Her behavior left Luo Yanhai speechless, but what could he do? She was his little sister, after all.

”If you need anything, come directly to me. Although I’m not in charge of your class,” Luo Yanhai said with a hint of regret, ”I can still help if you’re being bullied or something.”

Luo Qianqian nodded obediently, leaving Luo Yanhai at a loss. When had she become so compliant?

”Big brother, will you be staying here from now on, or will you go back after we’re done?” Luo Qianqian blinked her eyes, her gaze not shifting from Luo Yanhai’s face for a moment.

Luo Yanhai looked at Luo Qianqian with a hint of pleasure in his eyes, ”Is Qianqian inviting big brother for a meal? If so, I definitely have time.” However, he still didn’t answer the question directly.

”Are you on vacation or are you being transferred?” Luo Qianqian asked, her eyes circling twice. A person who goes out to buy yogurt every day doesn’t seem like they’re being transferred. It’s obvious that they’re here to play.

”Cough cough... I’m on vacation,” Luo Yanhai touched his nose, it wasn’t his fault that his sister was too clever.

Zhao Shiyu stood by the second-floor window, watching Luo Qianqian chatting and laughing with the instructor, holding a bag of things, a hint of envy flashing in her eyes. Chu Yu, standing beside her, also saw the pair and snorted disdainfully before returning to the dormitory.

Sensing their gazes, Luo Yanhai’s eyes flickered slightly. It seemed that his sister truly had a knack for attracting trouble. On her very first day, she had already made someone hold a grudge against her.

”I’m going back first, call me if you need anything.” Luo Yanhai looked at Luo Qianqian, who was happily gazing at the snacks in the bag with joy in her eyes. He patted her head affectionately and turned to leave.

Luo Qianqian also left. She didn’t notice anyone watching her, but seeing the direction of Luo Yanhai’s gaze and his expression, she could roughly guess what he had seen. However, she didn’t ask. In front of her brother, being a happy and cheerful little girl was enough. This was the conclusion Luo Qianqian had come to from her interactions with her own brother. As the older brother, he wouldn’t let his sister be wronged, so there was no need for her to worry too much.

”Having a brother is really nice,” He Wenyu remarked, looking at the bag full of food. Holding a piece of chocolate from the bag, she began to eat, ”But your brother is my brother, no difference.”

”Don’t let the cat out of the bag. It will cause trouble for big brother, and Luo Shufan might kill his way back here to beat me up,” Luo Qianqian said with a pout, looking at the packet of food, ”It looks like we have enough snacks to fill us up tonight even if we don’t eat dinner.”

”I’ve also brought ten apples. My mom said to have one a day,” He Wenyu opened her suitcase and took out three apples, ”These are for today. I feel like after eating these, I won’t need dinner.”

”I brought twenty-one,” Luo Qianqian said with a gloomy face, ”My mom said to have three a day to boost the immune system.”

”Give two to your brother and the instructor tonight,” He Wenyu suggested with a sly smile, calling over to the other girls in the dorm, ”Come on, Li Qi, here’s our class’s share.” She handed Li Qi three apples, nodded to the other two girls, and Li Qi understood, giving one apple each to the other two girls. Their luggage didn’t hold as much as Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu, who even brought fruit, while they hadn’t brought any food at all.

”I’ll divide the rest... I have more over here,” Luo Qianqian took out the apples, handed one to Fu Mingxue, and another to Chu Ci. She was about to give one to He Wenyu but stopped upon seeing her shaking her head like a rattle, so she only took one for herself.

”Looking at the pile of apples in the suitcase, I feel like I’ve contracted an entire apple orchard,” Luo Qianqian joked, ”The apples aren’t washed, so wash them before eating, okay?”

”Qianqian, why did you even bring this?” He Wenyu frowned upon seeing a large bottle of Florida water in Luo Qianqian’s backpack.

The smell was indeed hard to ask about, and Luo Qianqian smiled knowingly, ”You’ll understand tonight. I got help from my brother with this advice. You have to trust me.”
