Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 263: Chapter 247: The Thing at the Entrance Doesn’t Trust You Anymore

”Luo Qianqian, what kind of poison did you give me...” He Wenyu struggled with his expression in the bathroom, having diarrhoea after drinking brown sugar water? How did that make sense?

”It’s probably... ’Smiling Half-Step Mad.’” Luo Qianqian watched the TV: ”Do you want more? I think it tastes quite good, and I even added goji berries to it, very nourishing.”

”It must be the goji berries that are poisonous.” He Wenyu, clutching his stomach, although it was not as uncomfortable as before, having diarrhoea was still hard to bear.

”Why don’t you say the water is poisonous?” Luo Qianqian was speechless, ”Do you want me to get you an English book?”

He Wenyu was baffled, ”You caused my diarrhoea, and now you want me to study???”

”Isn’t it exam season? Whether you are on the bed or in the bathroom, you’re just idling away.” Luo Qianqian yawned, ”I’m actually feeling a bit sleepy.”

He Wenyu, clutching his stomach, exited the bathroom, bracing against the wall, his face pale, ”This poison of yours is too powerful, I’ve decided to spend the entire day in bed detoxing and healing.”

”Stop messing around and lie down. If it’s really unbearable, just take some ibuprofen, you wouldn’t even take it when I offered.” Luo Qianqian shook her head, ”I’ll go buy some porridge later, don’t worry, I won’t bother you.”

”I can’t not worry, I won’t eat cold or spicy food anymore, it’s really uncomfortable.” He Wenyu was on the verge of tears.

”By the way, it’s May now, there’s still a while till the hottest month of August, you not eating would be strange. Also, you shouldn’t eat chocolate these days.” Luo Qianqian looked at He Wenyu with a face of disgust, ”Look at you now, where is that cheerful eater from this morning?”

”Wasn’t it because of your poison?” He Wenyu grumbled angrily.

”Don’t frame me, I’m a good person, heaven and earth can attest to that.” Luo Qianqian, indifferent, took a crunching bite of an apple, her face full of smiles, eyeing He Wenyu.

He Wenyu, infuriated and wanting to stamp his foot yet his stomach spasmed, could only clutch his stomach and slowly move to the bedside, ”Eat, eat, eat, that’s all you know, pour me some hot water.”

”Coming right up.” Though she intentionally irritated He Wenyu, who accused her of poisoning him, seeing her friend in discomfort also pained her. She quickly poured a cup of warm water, tested the temperature, and handed it to He Wenyu, ”Do you want a hot water bottle?”

”No wonder those girls feel so miserable every month, I’ve truly empathized, Qianqian, you just enjoy your good times.” He Wenyu pursed his lips, holding the water cup, his face eased a bit after a sip.

”Yes, yes, you’re the patient, you’re the boss, whatever you say goes.” Luo Qianqian pouted, seeing He Wenyu’s state also made her feel sorry, she quickly found some ibuprofen, ”Take one, it should relieve some pain, don’t tough it out, you should be glad it’s after the exams ended, otherwise wouldn’t the exam be a total mess?”

”You’re the one who would mess up, can’t you say something nice?” He Wenyu glared at Luo Qianqian, finishing his water, ”Aren’t you going to get me more water? And the hot water bottle, where is it? Does it fall from the sky?”

...Can you say something nice? She rarely takes care of someone like this. Luo Qianqian pouted, really feeling like throwing in the towel, ”Do you want to drink brown sugar water? It’s good for replenishing blood.”

”No drinks, you poison.” He Wenyu looked sorrowful, his eyes filled with melancholy, ”I’ve decided to take medicine, it’s too uncomfortable, thinking about going through this every month sends shivers down my spine.”

After having gone through this for seven or eight years in a past life, Luo Qianqian never felt so blue. She skillfully poured water, ”You know, eat less cold and spicy food, and I guarantee next month won’t be so bad. Think about the three ice creams and half a watermelon you ate yesterday, it’s no wonder you are in this much pain, didn’t you see I ate less? Just to avoid suffering like this in the future.” Thinking back to her long history of painful menstruation, Luo Qianqian felt it was worthwhile to eat less cold and spicy food just to lessen the suffering.

”How was I supposed to know today was the day? If I had known, I wouldn’t have... eaten so much.” He Wenyu appeared a bit aggrieved, swallowing the medicine, ”When will it start working?”

”Not eating much, but still have to eat, right?” Luo Qianqian shook her head with a smile. ”Wait for about half an hour, do you want to lie down first?”

”No, lying down is also uncomfortable. If it’s okay, you can recite something for me to listen to and pass the time.” He Wenyu lazily covered his stomach, giving orders to Luo Qianqian, his face still creased, showing no signs of pain subsiding.

”There’s a TV you’re not watching, yet you insist on listening to me recite. When did you become so studious?” Luo Qianqian shook her head. ”I’ll play a tape for you. Be good, I’m going to buy you some porridge.”

”You’re disgusted by me...” He Wenyu pouted, looking unhappy.

”Who dares to be disgusted by you? Hurry up and drink some water, then rest for a while. We can talk after your pain subsides.” It was clear that it was the small temper of someone on their period, and she, Luo Qianqian, being generous, wouldn’t bother arguing with you.

Luo Qianqian’s phone vibrated twice, and she pulled it out only to find a message from Chu Ci: Mom says Angelica and brown sugar boiled in water relieve pain. Try it for Xiao Yu.

”Chu Ci told me to boil you some brown sugar water...” Luo Qianqian held up the phone for He Wenyu to see. ”She probably doesn’t know you’ve already accused me of poisoning.”

”I’ve already taken medicine, I dare not drink anything you make. From now on, don’t touch anything that goes into our mouths at home. I feel like if it’s something edible, you can make normal ingredients into something very strange.” He Wenyu twitched the corner of his mouth decisively refusing, shaking his head vigorously.

”The water you’re drinking is boiled by me.” Luo Qianqian argued defiantly, pointing at the water cup.

”I’ll probably have diarrhea again in a moment.” He Wenyu drank the water with disgust. ”Where is the hot water bottle?”

”There’s hot water, I don’t know where the bottle is...” Luo Qianqian looked at He Wenyu’s smiling face. ”Or should I give you the kettle to hold?”

”Get lost already. You’re so capable. Once I’m better, I won’t need you to boil water anymore. You can just be your high-level rice weevil.” He Wenyu smiled bitterly. ”The hot water bottle is on my bedside table. Buy an electric one next time; I heard it heats up just by plugging it in.”

”I’m a rice weevil and I’m proud. I’m supposed to save for the country... I don’t save anything. I’m actually quite costly.” Luo Qianqian squinted her eyes. ”I’ll go fill your hot water bottle, but the water is not hot anymore. I’ll boil some more to make it hot.”

”Good, once I feel better, I’ll make you something delicious.” He Wenyu felt a bit better in his stomach, spoke smilingly, draped the sofa blanket over his stomach, comforting the unhappy-looking Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian frowned. ”I always feel like you’re the type who would feed me plain boiled noodles for a week, not even giving me any seasoning.”

”Don’t worry, I won’t.” He Wenyu twitched the corner of his mouth. Was she such a petty person? It was just a stomach ache, and it’s not like he hadn’t been ’tormented’ before.

”Then, once you’re better, yeah, once we’ve finished our exams, I want a month’s worth of meals.” Luo Qianqian nodded her head, smiling.

”After our exams, I really want to have fun. From beach camping to mountain trekking, barbeques to tours, I want to do it all.” He Wenyu raised his hand, no longer feeling so uncomfortable, now filled with anticipation and longing for a holiday without homework.

”After our exams, the first thing I want to do is sleep for three days and nights, stay up at night to watch TV, sleep during the day, and be a night owl.” Luo Qianqian was looking forward to it too, but thinking about her brother’s upcoming college entrance exams, she grew worried again. ”I don’t know how Brother Zhuzi’s tutoring has been lately; it feels like we’ve been sleeping very late, and we’ve bought a lot of coffee at home.”

”Don’t worry, your brother will be fine, Zhuzi works hard, everyone will be fine. Didn’t Brother Jiayou also call and tell Zhuzi not to stress out and overwork?” He Wenyu nodded his head, lying on the couch. ”Thinking about their college entrance exams suddenly makes me feel like our middle school exams are not that stressful.”
