Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 259: Chapter 243: The Underage Family Meeting

”So what exactly happened?” As soon as he got home and delivered the groceries to the adults downstairs, Luo Shufan headed into his room. Bai Yizhu, who was busy with homework, got startled by the sudden appearance and watched his brother head back to his room before Luo Qianqian quietly asked.

”It’s nothing.” He Wenyu blushed and shook her head, ”Let’s just focus on studying, studying is most important.”

”You really should do a worksheet to cool down.” Luo Qianqian nodded, and started working on the worksheet with He Wenyu. But within twenty minutes, He Wenyu put down her pen and looked at Luo Qianqian with a wronged expression, ”I’m telling you, the internet cafe is really not a good place.”

Hearing voices from his sister’s room, Luo Shufan shook his head and patted Bai Yizhu on the shoulder, ”Let’s go out, we need to have a meeting.”

Luo Shufan stepped out and knocked on his sister’s door, ”Qianqian, Xiao Yu, come out. Let’s have a meeting, has everyone calmed down?” The last remark was clearly directed at He Wenyu.

Luo Qianqian opened the door with an incredulous look, Is it really okay for boys and girls to talk about this kind of issue together?

As for Bai Yizhu, his face was full of confusion; he had no idea what had happened. Just a moment ago, he saw Luo Shufan rush into his room, furiously write on two sets of worksheets, and then put down his pen and announce it was time for a meeting.

Following Luo Qianqian, He Wenyu also left the room and nodded at Luo Shufan, ”I’ve calmed down.”

”Today’s main topic is about early romance.” Luo Shufan took a seat at the dining table, avoiding the more relaxed sofa because he felt that every time his sister encountered the sofa, she would either sprawl or lie down, displaying a sloppy attitude, which wasn’t conducive to serious discussions.

Bai Yizhu sat at the dining table with an awkward expression.

”You’re not included; you’re here to share your experiences.” Luo Shufan patted his friend on the shoulder reassuringly.

”Let’s put today’s events behind us and not bring them up again. Once this talk is over, we’ll turn the page on the spot,” Luo Shufan continued.

”Go ahead,” Luo Qianqian said, propping herself up on the cushion she had placed on the chair, sitting lazily.

”You need to be serious, especially you; I’ll break your leg if I find out you’re in an early romance,” Luo Shufan threatened, brandishing his fist.

”Firstly, let’s talk about the issue of age,” Luo Shufan began, his cheeks blushing slightly, ”Dating before you’re an adult is considered early romance.”

”So, brother, by that definition, you’re also in an early romance,” Luo Qianqian nodded, seeing her brother’s disapproving gaze, she quickly continued, ”Go on, go on.”

”In our family, dating before college is forbidden, it’s a Luo Family rule,” Luo Shufan glared at Luo Qianqian fiercely.

Luo Qianqian touched her nose and pretended not to hear.

”We’re immature at our current age. Can you see a future if you get together now?” Luo Shufan sighed, ”Even if one is in junior high, or even high school, can you guarantee you’ll stick together through college? A single point difference in college entrance exams can mean worlds apart.”

”Brother, stop lecturing, I know I have high standards for a boyfriend, so I won’t accept anyone who doesn’t meet them. And those who meet my standards won’t come into my junior or senior high life, so don’t worry, I have high expectations.” Luo Qianqian glanced at He Wenyu before continuing, ”I’m not opposed to dating, as long as grades don’t drop and nothing inappropriate is done, I think mutual progress is a good thing.” However, she did not agree with He Wenyu’s grades dropping. Luo Qianqian left that unsaid, ”We are students, grades are most important, but we only have youth once. I don’t believe a life spent just on studies is called youth; youth should be about living passionately, with the courage to love and hate. Even if there’s someone you like, it’s not strange. After all, we meet so many people, it’s normal to admire someone. Liking someone isn’t love, and neither is admiration. Isn’t it good if we both make progress while keeping a proper balance?”

”Stop right there, if you keep going, you’re practically encouraging us to start dating,” Luo Shufan said exasperatedly, stopping her. It started off serious, but why did it turn into a speech about youth?

”Brother Zhuzi, now it’s your turn to tell us how to trick girls into bed,” Luo Qianqian turned away from Luo Shufan to look at Bai Yizhu.

With an embarrassed face, Bai Yizhu said, ”Trick? It’s all consensual. It’s just about giving flowers and gifts, saying sweet things, swearing to love only you for life, and stuff like that...”

”Key education point: identifying playboys, Master Bai Yizhu, please begin. Note, the audience is junior and senior high school students, so mind your language.” Luo Qianqian listened to Bai Yizhu’s explanation with speechlessness. With such talk, who’d know who’s faking it and who’s sincere, and who’s truly in love?

”A jerk?” Bai Yizhu touched his nose. ”Qianqian, what do you consider a jerk?”

”Those who deceive emotions, extract the remaining usefulness of girls, scam them for money, sex, and effort while cheating, stepping on several boats at once, and then acting cold after they’ve been to bed.” Luo Qianqian counted on her fingers, completely oblivious to Luo Shufan’s increasingly dark expression.

”Who scammed you?”

”Aren’t you talking about me?”

Luo Shufan and Bai Yizhu said at the same time.

Luo Qianqian was speechless. ”Scammed? Brother, look at me, watched every day, I go to school like a dog being taken out for air. Where would I have the chance to get scammed? Plus, you have contact with everyone around me, who would dare?”

Luo Shufan rolled his eyes at his friend’s words. ”Zhuzi, keep a low profile.”

Bai Yizhu touched his head awkwardly. ”Well yeah, if the people around you feel he’s a good, respectable guy, but you think he’s a jokester, acting all improper to cheer you up, he’s sincere; but if everyone around feels that the guy is just joking around like a clown, and you feel he’s a respectable person, he’s definitely not sincere.”

”That’s very general.” Luo Qianqian clicked her tongue dissatisfiedly. ”Brother Zhuzi, it’s rare for you to teach, so teach something practical.”

”It’s the one that you feel treats you especially well, but no one else around you feels the same—only that the person is rather interesting. That’s a jerk.”

”Bro, I think Brother Zhuzi is actually quite funny...” Luo Qianqian blinked. ”Speaking of which, Brother Zhuzi, can you teach me how to scam a high schooler?”

”I’m not interested in minors.” Bai Yizhu shook his head decisively. ”I only like mature women who are in college.”

”If you put it that way, the old granny selling breakfast downstairs is the most mature, with all her life experience and all.” Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes.

”...I’m only interested in adult college girls who haven’t entered society yet, okay?” Bai Yizhu was speechless. She was older than his grandmother, what was she joking about?

”How about this, we change the rules in our house to no messing around before marriage, how about that? This way, there won’t be the trouble of getting married because of pregnancy, nor the trouble of needing a big allowance. Perfect.” Luo Qianqian proposed earnestly. ”Don’t worry, Brother Zhuzi, you’re not from our family, you don’t have to follow it.”

”I always feel like you guys are discriminating against me...” Bai Yizhu complained with a bitter face.

”I agree.” He Wenyu lifted her head and nodded firmly, smiling at Luo Qianqian. ”Two against one, your brother’s opposition is useless.”

”Who said I was opposed?” Luo Shufan glared at the two of them, but seeing He Wenyu’s innocent smile, he relented. As long as there were boundaries, it was okay if it helped her, after all, she was his sister’s important friend.

”There’s one more thing...” Luo Qianqian hesitantly raised her hand.

”What?”

”Brother, you should start getting fit, or else if we’re bullied in the future, you won’t be able to avenge us. Surely I can’t add the requirement that he has to be stronger than my brother, to make it easier for you to teach him a lesson?”

”Luo Qianqian, what are you thinking? Do you wish for domestic violence?”

”It’s because I despise you for being too weak, not having a deterrent effect, unable to scare people.”

”The person you’re going to marry, the person who’s going to protect you, if I can scare him off easily, then he’s not good enough, and if he gets scared off so easily, how is he going to protect you for life?”
