I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 226: Chapter 222: Let’s Have a Good Drink Tonight

At that moment, some of the customers still eating in the restaurant recognized Ye Shengge.

They were delighted to see her.

It had been a while since they’d seen this beauty, and now she was finally back.

Many beautiful women frequented the boss’s restaurant, but among them all, she reigned supreme.

A beauty like her always lifted one’s spirits.

In his excitement, a customer said to Ye Shengge, ”Miss Ye, you’re finally back! It’s great to see you again.”

Ye Shengge had some recollection of the customer and offered a slight smile in response.

At that moment, the other customers in the restaurant were all stunned by Ye Shengge’s face and figure. ’She’s just too gorgeous!’

The beautiful women who ate at the boss’s place were each more stunning than the last.

And the customers were in for a visual treat.

’Eating supreme delicacies, drinking fine wine, and gazing upon a supreme beauty... it doesn’t get any better than this.’

The customers were all very excited.

A moment ago, Ye Shengge had ordered half a braised chicken and ten braised chicken feet.

Now, Da Bai had already placed the sliced half-chicken and the ten chicken feet on the table.

Upon seeing it, Ye Shengge immediately went over and sat down. At the same time, she said to Da Bai, ”Da Bai, could you please get me a bowl of wine?”

Ye Shengge didn’t normally drink. But here, wine was a must.

Da Bai acknowledged and went to fetch the wine.

Ye Shengge then said to Li You, ”Boss, I’d also like a tomato and egg soup.”

Li You nodded. ”Coming right up.”

With that, he walked into the kitchen and quickly prepared a serving of tomato and egg soup.

He brought it out to Ye Shengge himself.

At that moment, Ye Shengge was already excitedly gnawing on the braised chicken.

’The boss’s braised chicken really is the best in the world.’

Li You put down the tomato and egg soup.

Ye Shengge said, ”Boss, come on, have a bowl with me.”

Li You nodded. ”Alright, one bowl it is.”

When a beautiful woman invited him for a drink, Li You rarely refused.

Da Bai quickly brought a bowl of wine over.

Li You and Ye Shengge clinked their bowls together and drank.

When the other customers in the restaurant saw this, they were all extremely envious. They wished they could be the ones drinking with such a beautiful woman.

But alas, only the boss was lucky enough to enjoy such a privilege.

Gradually, the other customers finished their meals and left.

Li You and Ye Shengge also finished drinking.

They had both only had one bowl. Ye Shengge was clearly still thirsty for more. After settling the bill, she said, ”Boss, you still have to work this afternoon and evening, so we’ll just have one bowl for lunch. How about we have a proper drinking session after you close up tonight?”

Li You took a deep breath. Ye Shengge was no Ling Xiaoru, who could only handle a bowl and a half.

Ye Shengge’s alcohol tolerance was unfathomable.

When she said a ”proper drinking session,” Li You was honestly a little hesitant to take her on.

But hesitation was one thing; he still had to accept. So, he nodded and said, ”Sure! It’s perfect timing. I can have you try a new dish I’m planning to release tomorrow.”

Ye Shengge’s eyes lit up. ”You’re launching a new dish tomorrow? What is it?”

Li You said, ”Chopped Pepper Fish Head.”

Ye Shengge was even more delighted. ”That’s a famous dish in Hunan cuisine, and it’s delicious. It seems I came at just the right time today.”

Li You said, ”Indeed, it’s the perfect time.”

Ye Shengge added, ”In that case, I’m looking forward to tonight’s drinks even more. Well, Boss, I’m going to head up to my room for a bit.”

Li You nodded. ”Alright. Your room has been kept closed. I’ve never once been inside.”

Ye Shengge said, ”There’s nothing special in there. You can go in, Boss.”

Li You shook his head. ”Still, it wouldn’t be proper.”

Ye Shengge gave a small smile. ”Well, I’ll head up then.”

Li You nodded.

Ye Shengge went upstairs.

There probably wouldn’t be any more customers for a while, so Li You went back to lounging in the rocking chair at the restaurant’s entrance.

The chirping of cicadas in the distance continued to rise and fall.

Li You continued to listen.

After a while, Ye Shengge came out from the restaurant, sat down next to Li You, and said, ”I just noticed that the cicadas are already chirping. They seem a bit early this year.”

Li You said, ”It’s early June now. This is about right. Do you think their chirping is noisy?”

Ye Shengge said, ”It is a little noisy, I suppose. But I don’t mind it. In fact, sometimes I quite enjoy listening to it. It’s a symphony you can only hear in the summer. Without it, summer just wouldn’t feel like summer.”

Li You was delighted. ’Finally, someone who sees it the same way I do.’ He immediately grinned. ”I think so too.”

”Really? That’s wonderful!” Ye Shengge was also clearly very happy.

After a moment, Ye Shengge looked at the nearby vegetable patch and let out a small ”Huh?” ”Boss,” she said, ”your vegetable garden has gotten so much bigger.”

Li You nodded. ”I just expanded it a couple of days ago. I’ll probably keep expanding it in the future. The bigger it is, the more vegetables I can plant.”

Ye Shengge said, ”It’s a good idea to expand it. This patch of land seems perfect for growing vegetables. Everything you planted before grew so well. Oh, by the way, are some of those cucumbers ready to eat?”

Li You nodded. ”You can pick one and eat it raw. They taste fantastic.”

”Really? Then I’ll pick one and try it.”

As Ye Shengge spoke, she stood up, walked to the edge of the vegetable patch, stepped inside, and chose a cucumber of moderate thickness.

She walked out of the garden, returned to Li You’s side, and said, ”Do you want some? We can split it.”

Li You nodded. ”Sure.”

Ye Shengge snapped the cucumber in half and handed one of the pieces to Li You.

”Ingredient: Cucumber

Quality: Superior.”

Ye Shengge was lucky; she had managed to pick a superior-quality one on her first try.

Ye Shengge popped the cucumber into her mouth and took a bite. She chewed a few times; it was incredibly crisp and refreshing, with the unique, fresh scent of cucumber.

’It really is delicious!’

Ye Shengge said with delight, ”This is really good. I don’t think I’ve ever had a raw cucumber this delicious before. Boss, it turns out you’re a great gardener too.”

Li You chuckled. ”I just kind of threw them in there, to be honest. The reason they’re so delicious now is probably because the seeds and the soil are good. This land is just perfect for gardening.”

”Is that so?” Ye Shengge nodded slowly. ”I suppose that’s possible.”

After speaking, she continued to eat her cucumber.

Li You also began to eat.

After they both finished, Li You asked Ye Shengge if she wanted another.

Ye Shengge said, ”Not right now. When I want another one, can I just go pick it myself?”

Li You nodded. ”Of course. Pick as many as you want, whenever you want.”

Ye Shengge was overjoyed. ”Thank you, Boss!”

The two of them continued to chat idly, and time slowly crept toward five-thirty in the afternoon.

Customers began to arrive for dinner.

The first few customers to arrive all recognized Ye Shengge. They were all pleasantly surprised and delighted to see her.

’That beautiful woman is here again! Awesome! We’re in for another treat!’
