I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 225: Chapter 221: The Chirping of Cicadas is a Moving Melody of Summer

Back in the real world, Li You was still leaning against his bed.

After all, only a second had passed in reality.

Recalling what happened in the world of ”Boonie Bears,” Li You felt a mix of emotion and nostalgia.

’Next time I have a chance, I’ll go back to the ”Boonie Bears” world to visit Bald Qiang and the animals.’

After a moment of reflection, Li You opened the Spatial Fish Pond again.

Nearly ten thousand silver carp had been added, yet it didn’t seem crowded at all. It was just a much more gratifying sight.

The fish heads were top-quality, and so were the chopped peppers. The Chopped Pepper Fish Head he was about to launch would be even more delicious than the one he’d eaten with Ling Xiaoru before.

It was truly something to look forward to.

Besides, after removing the heads, the bodies of the silver carp were also an important ingredient.

He could temporarily store the fish bodies in the Storage Pavilion. Once he got a recipe for something like Boiled Fish in Chili Oil, he could use them.

In the Storage Pavilion, the fish would remain in the same state as when they were first killed, no matter how long they were stored.

’I can’t let these top-quality silver carp bodies go to waste.’

Of course, before he got a recipe for Boiled Fish in Chili Oil, he could also just eat them himself.

From now on, he basically had an unlimited supply of silver carp.

’Maybe tomorrow, or whenever I have time, I’ll send a few back to Mom and Dad.’

With that thought, Li You closed the Spatial Fish Pond and picked up his phone to scroll through videos.

’It’s still early. I’ll watch some videos for a bit before sleeping.’

...

「The next day.」

「Morning.」

Li You and Ling Xiaoru walked out of their rooms at almost the same time.

”Boss, you’re up too!” Ling Xiaoru said, pleasantly surprised.

She was surprised, perhaps, because she felt that waking up at the same time as Li You was a sign of some telepathic connection.

Li You smiled. ”Looks like we woke up at the same time. What a coincidence.”

Ling Xiaoru said, ”It really is.”

Then, the two of them washed up together.

”By the way, Boss, now that you have the chopped peppers, silver carp heads should be easy to buy. When are you planning to launch the Chopped Pepper Fish Head?” Ling Xiaoru asked.

Li You said, ”I’ll go get some silver carp heads ready today, and we’ll officially launch it tomorrow.”

’The silver carp heads are already prepared, but I can’t just tell her that, can I?’

”Then I’ll have to come for the Chopped Pepper Fish Head tomorrow,” Ling Xiaoru said.

Li You smiled. ”You’re always welcome.”

The two continued to wash up. Afterward, they went downstairs together.

Li You cooked two bowls of Yangchun Noodles, one for himself and one for Ling Xiaoru.

Li You had originally planned to treat her, but Ling Xiaoru paid for both bowls, insisting it was her treat.

Li You didn’t argue.

After they finished eating, Ling Xiaoru said goodbye and left.

Li You then used the Qiankun Pot to braise 30 chickens and 1,000 chicken feet.

The braised chicken and chicken feet were both extremely popular now, so Li You tried to braise a batch every day.

Once they were done, Li You sat down on the rocking chair at the storefront to rest.

Ye Shengge sent him a message. ”Are you busy? I’m coming to your shop today. Getting ready to leave now.”

Li You’s eyes lit up. He was, of course, very happy and would gladly welcome Ye Shengge.

’Ye Shengge is not only a regular customer but also my tenant, and a great beauty at that. Of course I have to welcome her.’

Li You replied, ”Okay. Be safe on the road.”

”Alright. See you this afternoon.”

”See you this afternoon.”

It was nine in the morning, so Ye Shengge would probably arrive around two in the afternoon.

Eating lunch at that time would be fine; it wasn’t too late.

’She’ll definitely wait until she gets here to eat, rather than eating on the road.’

He scrolled through some videos for a while.

As he was scrolling, a cicada chirped as it flew overhead, landing on a fruit tree in the orchard.

The calls of cicadas echoed one after another from the distance.

He wasn’t sure when it started, but the sound of cicadas had returned.

It seemed like there weren’t any just a few days ago.

Some people found the sound of cicadas noisy, a form of noise pollution. But Li You believed their calls were the moving symphony of summer.

A summer without the chirping of cicadas was an imperfect one.

Li You put down his phone, slowly lay back, and gently closed his eyes. He listened to the overlapping songs of the cicadas in the distance.

It was pleasant and tranquil.

Time slowly passed. At eleven in the morning, customers started to arrive for lunch.

The cicadas were still chirping as Li You returned to the kitchen and got busy.

He stayed busy all the way until two in the afternoon.

Of course, it wasn’t as if he had no free time at all during that period.

He had a few breaks in between. Li You even used one of them to have a meal himself.

’It’s two in the afternoon. Ye Shengge should be arriving soon.’

Li You walked out of the shop and, sure enough, saw a very tall figure getting out of a car.

Who else could it be but Ye Shengge?

After getting out of the car, Ye Shengge walked straight toward him.

Her figure was as perfect as ever, her face as beautiful as always.

In Li You’s opinion, you probably couldn’t find anyone more beautiful than Ye Shengge in the entire country.

Some might have a figure that could rival hers, but when you added her looks into the equation, it was truly a rare combination.

Ye Shengge approached, a smile gracing her lips when she saw Li You. ”Boss, are you out here to welcome me?”

Li You laughed. ”Of course! A great beauty like you must be welcomed!”

Ye Shengge said, ”I’m flattered to hear you say that, Boss.”

Li You smiled again. ”You haven’t eaten yet, have you?”

Ye Shengge replied, ”Nope. I was definitely going to wait until I got here to eat. I’ll start with half a braised chicken and ten braised chicken feet.”

Ye Shengge naturally knew that Li You had launched braised chicken and chicken feet, and she had been longing to try them for a while.

Li You said, ”No problem.”

Then, the two of them walked into the shop together.

As soon as she entered, Ye Shengge saw Guyi’s painting. ”This must be Elder Guyi’s painting, right? I didn’t expect him to leave a piece of his work here. This means he must have been in an extremely good mood.”

Hearing Ye Shengge say this, Li You suddenly wanted to ask a question: was the relationship between Guyi and Ye Shengge’s grandfather a close one?

This was something Li You had guessed to himself after learning that Guyi had come here because of a bowl of Salted Pork with Preserved Vegetables.

Now he could finally confirm it with Ye Shengge.

Of course, Li You could have called or messaged Ye Shengge to ask before, but he hadn’t.

But now that they were face to face, he could ask.

So, Li You said, ”There’s a question I’ve been wanting to ask you. Is the relationship between Elder Guyi and your grandfather very good?”

After hearing him, Ye Shengge wasn’t surprised that Li You would ask her that.

She knew Li You would be able to guess that Guyi and her grandfather had a close relationship.

She nodded. ”It is. The day I brought the Salted Pork with Preserved Vegetables back home, Elder Guyi came to our house. I gave him a bowl. The moment he smelled the aroma, he said it would definitely be the best Salted Pork with Preserved Vegetables he had ever eaten, then immediately picked up a piece of meat with his hands and started eating. After he finished, he excitedly asked me where it came from. So I told him about your restaurant. I also mentioned that you not only have top-tier food but also the best wine. He looked like he wanted to fly straight to your shop right then and there.”

Li You couldn’t help but smile. So that’s what happened.

’It seems Guyi truly has no resistance when it comes to good food and wine.’
