The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 343 343- Darkmaw

Even with Reinhardt destroying the summoning gate, too many demons had already infiltrated the city.

”Ahhh!! Ahhh!!… S-Someone, please save my mom. Momm!!”

A little girl cried out in front of a collapsed two storey house, unaware of the demon that was slowly creeping towards her.

Feeling the ground shake behind her, the girl turned around, only to fall down crying and afraid. The demon feeding on her emotions showed a pleased expression and reached out to eat her.

Just then…

”Leave her alone, you vile demon!!” A boisterous voice of a boy in his early teens rang out. A dark crimson sword cleaved through the air and came down in an overhead chop.

Perhaps it might have worked had he been silent about it, or perhaps not. Nevertheless, with him shouting like that, there was no way the demon was getting hit.

Easily, it dodged the attack and backed away.

CLANG… the sword dropped on the ground, missing its mark. Nevertheless, the boy had achieved his goal.

”Get her Gwen!” Even before his words left his mouth, the little girl was swept away by a girl with rose gold hair, and surfing on land.

”Good job, you two.” Arriving at the same time were Silvia and the team.

”Brat, I told you to not shout when going for a surprise attack. When will you learn?” A shadow crept behind Kevin, and a knuckle came smashing on his head.

”Oww, senior Vangeance, that hurts”.

”Shut up. Look, because of you, we all lost the chance to deal it a surprise blow. Rolan, you tell him something too”.

”Haha, everyone, I think this is not the time to fight among ourselves,” Delicia reasoned from the side.

”Big sis is right, we should look for the girlʼs mother right now”.

At those words from Kevin, all eyes turned towards the collapsed building in front of them. They could all sense a faint breath from in there, evidence that the girlʼs mother was still alive.

That being said, they all want to help; however, standing in between them and the house was a demon.

Dark amorphous body, a gaping mouth with jagged teeth, multiple tentacles, extremely sharp claws, and a long sticky tongue dripping with saliva. The vile creature in front of them was straight from a nightmare, menacing and ugly.

”Tch, itʼs a Darkmaw,” Vangenace spa,t looking at the demon in front of them.

”Everyone, be on your A game. The creature in front of us is a high ranking demon”.

As soon as he said that, the creature thumped the ground with its tentacles and threw out an acidic blob of liquid.

Everyone dodged it and surrounded the demon.

”Whatʼs the plan?” Vangeance questioned.

Silvia thought for a while, her eyes looking at the little girl who had fainted from the shock, and commanded.

”Buy me some time. Delicia, with me, we need to help her mother before the debris crushes her”.

The former knight and the two girls immediately rushed towards the building behind the demon, ignoring it.

The Darkmaw attacked, extending its razor sharp tongue. However, before the tongue could reach anywhere near the girls, a knight with ash grey hair jumped in between and received the blow.

”[Heroic Shield]” A shield of light energy formed around him and took the blow.

Crack… the power of a high ranking demon was called a high rank for a reason. The skill was able to stop the attack only for a few seconds before it collapsed, blowing the knight away.

”Senior Vangeance!!”

Kevin cried out, seeing the knight get blown back by a single attack. Just as he was about to move on impulse, Delicia stopped him in his tracks, her expression serious.

”Donʼt break the formation. If you make a single mistake in front of the creature, you will die. A high ranking demon is not something squires like you… Like us can underestimate. Besides, Sir Vangeance is alright. A true knight would not fall from just that”.

The boy gulped and nodded his head. This was their first time fighting a high ranking demon, and they were starting to feel the pressure.

ROARRR…

The Darkmaw gave a loud roar that shook the air and charged towards the squires. However, before it could take a few steps, a pillar of light dropped from the sky.

[Radiant Ascension], one of the skills imparted by Reinhardt, showed its power at his moment.

KIEEEE… The demon, who barely managed to dodge the skill, cried out in anguish as one of its legs was disintegrated by that pillar of light.

Even with the downgraded version, it was still considered extremely powerful; the knights have yet to master it to the point where it was undodgeable.

The [Radiant Ascension] used right now had a delay, resulting in the demon dodging the attack. Thanks to that, it was easily able to heal from its wounds.

”Dammit, I thought I took it by surprise. I guess even if itʼs slightly less intelligent than the other high ranking demon races, its instincts are quite sharp,” Vangeance muttered, pulling himself out of the rubble.

As it turned out, he deliberately allowed himself to be blown back, intending to catch the demon by surprise. However, a Darkmawʼs instincts were at the top tier, if not, the best among all the high ranking demon races.

At this moment, a magic circle appeared around the mouth of the demon, sparking with dark crimson lightning.

”Shit, cover your ears and get back,” The knight hurriedly warned.

The squires immediately did as they were told and retreated back. The next instant, the attack of the demon arrived.

KIEEEEEKKKK… a piercing scream that sent a sharp vibration in the immediate surroundings of the latter. The magic cut through everything, the ground, the air, and even its own body.

However, because it had a powerful regeneration that was further bolstered by the title effects of the Twelfth Heavenly King, it could effortlessly use such double edged magic.
