The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 333: Chapter 333- [Radiant Benediction]

”By the way, how long are you going to hide there? If you are interested, you can come with us, you know?”

Who was he talking to?

The only people here were Reinahrdt Vaerion, and both of them were legendary heroes. Hiding from them was impossible, even if the other party was also another hero.

”Hmph,” Erza Crimsonstar snorted and then went back to her station.

”Seriously, man, I feel like she hates me too, because I’m associating with you. What the hell did you do to her?”

The Divine Paladin chose to keep silent. Neither he nor the Crimson Knight wish to talk about the incident that happened all those years ago.

The two heroes carefully walked into the inner regions of the palace. Just as they walked past a seemingly ordinary corridor with servants tending to the garden on the side, Reinhardt sensed something and stopped.

Earlier, when in the audience chamber, he could sense a small trace of it. However, now that he was standing so close to it, he could tell what it was.

”What’s wrong?”

”Is there something being kept here?” At that question, Vearion tilted his head. What did the Divine Paladin mean?

Seeing that even the Dark Knight was clueless, Reinhardt instantly understood that even the level 10 hero was not privy to such important information. After all, the thing that was being kept hundreds of meters underground over here was something that was that significant.

Before long, the two of them arrived in front of a cell that was hidden quite well.

”As the first prince is a traitor, I had to make sure this place does not come to his notice”.

Inside the cellar, a man was kept chained to the floor. There were also two knights keeping an eye on him all the time. Other than them, there was also a young priestess trying her best to remove the powerful demonic spell.

However, as it could be seen from her expression, she was having a difficult time breaching the spell.

”She...”

”Don’t worry, she is someone we can trust”.

As the holy grounds were corrupted by the demons, they were their enemies. As such, seeing the girl here was a little surprising for Reinhardt. Since it was Vaerion vouching for the girl, he did not say anything.

Nevertheless, he still used his [Eyes of Divine Clarity] just to make sure.

”?”

At that instant, his god’s eyes revealed every deception and falsehood in front of him. For a second there, his expression became quite strange.

”Reinhardt!”

Those words snapped him back to reality. The latter looked at the high ranking member of the Luminous Church and placed his hands on the other party’s head. At this moment, the man looked like a soulless husk, making one wonder if he was dead or alive.

An effect of the powerful spell that was placed on him. Slowly and steadily, it ate the human’s soul, turning them intoa lifeless husk like that.

Reinhardt looked at the man with pity. The thing about the holy grounds was that they were not their enemy by choice. It was the demons who were distorting the sacred texts and masking omens as dreams and prophesies.

The members were simply caught in a nightmare; they are not even aware of themselves, and when the usefulness of these members was over, they were discarded like that.

The man blessed by the God of Light, the one who carried the seat of the First Light with him, placed his hands on top of the saint and freed the pitiful soul from all the suffering and nightmares that the latter was currently experiencing.

”[Radiant Benediction]” Reinhardt slowly muttered in his heart.

At that moment, out of nowhere, the light from heaven, breaching through space and time, distance and even tangible objects, descended and fell down on the man. In the next moment, a pure white feather floated along with the light and landed on him.

The moment the feather touched the latter, black smoke released out of their body, and a phantom of something disturbing appeared around them for a second before disintegrating and turning into sparks of light.

[Sacred Benediction]Description: The Divine Paladin calls for the purest strand of the first primordial light that burns away corruption without harming the soul, restoring one’s original self, untouched by curse, miasma, or demonic taint.

Effects: [Absolute Purification]- removes all debuffs, corruption, and mental domination from the target. Shatters any demonic contracts and bindings, freeing the victim’s soul from dark influence.

[Soul Restoration]- Repairs the damage on the target’s soul, willpower, and spirit.

Groan... Thanks to Reinhardt’s skill, some lucidity appeared in the eyes of the man. A few seconds later, he finally seemed to have come to himself as he started questioning his actions and thought process.

”No!! What have I done? How can I be so cruel!! This is inhumane, the gods won’t forgive me...”

”Calm down. You don’t have to blame yourself for everything. You were under a powerful demonic spell that made you do all those things.”

The man, or rather the former saint of the Luminous church, seemed to have calmed down after those words from Vaerion.

”Get something warm for him to eat and drink”.

The knights left to carry out his order. After having some warm food, the man seemed to be in a better condition.

”Now then, can you tell us what is going on inside the church and why did they try to kill you?”

The questioning began. The man, a pious devotee of the seven gods, spilled everything that was going on inside the church and the horrible acts they were committing in the name of the old gods.

He also spilled out who among the upper echelons was committing the most atrocious acts and leading everyone around.

”That guy has to be a demon. Probably a high ranking demon who is good at masking its appearance and entering human societies” Reinhardt surmised.
