The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 303: Chapter 303- The Unbridled Marcus

Insufferable, wild, haughty, the man was a scoundrel through and through.

SHIING... He slowly and exaggeratedly drew his sword, letting his opponents marvel at his figure before death.

”When you go meet your maker, tell them that they owe me an apology. This is not a worthy challenge, it’s a waste of holy energy... [Purgation Aura]”.

And so, the holy knight swung his sword. At that very moment, the space around that area trembled intensely, followed by a raging, almost typhoon like burst of holy energy that quickly devoured the herd of hypogriffs.

The potent swirls of holy energy slashes that were released in that single instant quickly covered an area of more than a couple hundred meters in the sky and looked just like a raging typhoon of clouds from the point of view of the knights, squires, and the entourage of the king and queen.

Whoosh... even though the huge storm was high up in the sky, the burst of post tempest still hit those who were hundreds of meters below.

After the fierce gale passed by, everyone looked up at the sky, only to stare wide eyed at the scene that was displayed in front of them.

The dozens of hippogriffs with their enormous bodies and terrifying appearances were all gone, torn and burned into shreds by the swirling holy slashes. There was not even a trace of the monsters being there just a moment ago, remaining.

As for the knight, he suavely dropped down from the sky in a free fall with his hands folded and a grin plastered on his face.

BANG... the knight landed on the ground like a meteor, creating a small crater on the ground. Even after falling from the sky, the man was all fine with not even a single hair on his person ruffled.

”Haha, Commander, it’s all over. Shall we start moving again?” Marcus waved towards Reinhardt.

GULP... One move and all the monsters were dead. Everyone from the King and Queen’s entourage felt their throats getting dry at the incredible display of prowess by the knight that was beyond the scope of what a human could do and was, in the truest sense, a superhuman feat.

”Well done, your [Purgation Aura] has reached a very high level. However, it’s being limited by the fact that you have yet to master [Limitless]. I can see that you gained enlightenment on it and are not far away from mastering it. Though you still need to keep honing it so as not to forget that feeling. Keep up the good work.”

At those words of praise from the man he respected the most, a small honest to a fault smile appeared on the holy knight’s face.

”Marcus, you and the other Holy Knights will lead the convoy. I will stay by their majesties’ side and protect them,” Reinhardt commanded.

”That is also fine with Your Majesties, right?”

The king and queen nodded absentmindedly, still not out of it completely. The power displayed by the knight was enough to give them a great shock.

Of course, as the highest authority in the kingdom, they periodically received reports about knights accomplishing great feats. However, in the end, it was just on paper. They had never actually witnessed the scene with their own eyes.

And even if they did, with time, those memories became vague. Events like this, where a royalty of one kingdom is visiting another, are rare, and even rarer for them to be attacked.

As such, it could be said that today’s event allowed them to realise once again how powerful knights who fight the Forces of Farkness and defend their kingdom were.

”Un, do as you wish. It looks like my worries were unwarranted. These insensitive monsters were no match for you all to begin with,” The king spoke, climbing back onto this carriage again.

”That might not be the case, your majesty. The hippogriffs may be violent. However, they do not attack creatures that do not fall in their food chain. The reason why they attacked us is because this coincidentally seems to be their breeding season, and the place we are right now is their breeding ground. If anything, we are the insensitive ones who have broken into their territory at such a delicate time”. Reinhardt explained.

”Hoh, so that explains their numbers.” The Queen as enamouring as ever, nodded her head.

After the goddess like figure also headed inside the carriage, the convoy started moving again.

As this place was the breeding ground for Hippogriffs, no other monsters dared to live near. As such, they were able to reach their destination, the pickup spot, without any other issue.

While everyone waited for the Air Engine to arrive, discussions and conversations broke out as maids and knights set up tents to prepare some light meals.

”That was awesome, how Sir Marcus jumped so high in the sky and cleared all those monsters in an instant,” Kevin spoke excitedly.

”Of course, Master Marcus is amazing; he is my teacher after all. However, you haven’t seen anything. Master was not serious at all in the last fight. This is not even close to his full power.”

Vangeance agreed wholeheartedly. Even though he had a love and hate relationship with his master, he respected the other a lot.

”He created a white storm in the sky with a single swing of his sword. What kind of skill did he use?”

At that question, all eyes focused on the knight. It was not just Kevin who was interested in the skill displayed by the Holy Knight, but the others, too.

As there were very few chances to see a Holy Knight get serious, it wasn’t often that the new members got to see their skills.

”Ah, that...” Vangeance floundered for words.

”It is called the [Purgation Aura] and is one of the two holy skills that a knight must learn after reaching level 8. A destructive skill with a large area of effect, which unleases a series of swirling slashes with potent holy flames in an instant”.
