The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 307: Chapter 307- The Situation in the Village

”Haha, what are you saying, you have the Dark Knight in your kingdom. Not to mention you have four other heroes protecting your borders,” the Queen of Solaris retorted.

Just like she mentioned, as the strongest kingdom in military might out of the Seven Great Kingdoms, and needless to say, other smaller kingdoms, they had five knights who had all stepped into the realm of heroes, protecting their borders.

Of course, all of them are natural born. Their kingdom of Solaris would also have one more knight joining the ranks of the heroes. Unfortunately, it was snipped far too early. If anyone was lucky here, then it was Aetherion.

”Haha, you all must be tired after travelling. I have opened the Oceanic Mansion. Please rest there with your subordinates. There is one more week for the wedding”.

The King and Queen of Solaris took him up on that offer and headed towards the mansion assigned for them. The Oceanic mansion, as the name suggests, was a grand manor surrounded by scenic waterfalls.

It had a beautiful design and a garden out front. As for the interior, needless to say, it was immaculate.

”Sir Reinhardt, which room will you be taking?” The Queen asked.

After thinking for a second, the former answered. ”I will take whichever room is closest to you two”.

This way, he would be able to react instantly if an emergency did occur.

”In that case, I will take this one,” The Queen spoke. As for the king, he took the one opposite her. It appeared that the two did not sleep together. Though unusual, it was not too uncommon for many noble couples, despite sharing a bedroom, to also have their own room they liked to sleep in sometimes.

After the two disappeared into their rooms, Reinhardt chose the room closest to them. Coincidentally, it was also adjacent to the Queen’s room.

”Come out,” Once inside, he commanded his shadow. Immediately, his silhouette on the floor quivered, and out from it came a sexy assassin.

”Master” Karina called out.

”Watch guard over them till I come back. Make sure you don’t show your face to them until absolutely necessary.”

Karina was a wanted criminal after all and a former member of the organisation that created the Demonic Curse markings. Ultimately, although he was able to keep her by his side, it was only partial custody.

If she showed her face here, it would become a big issue that would blow up later.

The Mad Blade nodded her head in understanding. ”Is Master going somewhere?”

”Un, just going out to go meet an old friend. Although I’m not sure if they are still there. Nevertheless, now that I am back in the Kingdom of Aetherion, I must go visit them.”

Saying that, Reinhardt disappeared from the room using [Aetherial Stride].

.

.

The place was somewhere in the boonies. A rural village in the middle of nowhere. One could see cattles grazing in the distance, women drying clothes out in the sun, and children running around, playing tag.

”Haha, you will never be able to capture me. I am the fastest out of all the guys here,” A boy around seven or eight years old declared.

Running after him were a group of friends similar to his age.

”Erik, wait. This is cheating. You are only faster than us today because you donated your blood in the ritual last night,” A girl with shirt bangs shouted.

”Haha, so what? You can’t catch me. Besides, I’m the only child among the adults the priest called forward for the blood ceremony yesterday”.

Erik laughed, not looking where he was going. As a result, he bumped into a pole, or so he thought at first.

”Ouch!” However, when he looked up, he noticed that there was no pole. Instead, it was a tall man decked out in an impressive, divine looking armor that made his already divine figure even more overbearing and regal.

”E-Erik are you alright?” His friends came to help him up. Though the next second, when they saw the impressive tall figure, their expression turned the same as his.

”Ah, my bad. Did that hurt you?”

The seemingly domineering looking man at first, bent down and caressed the forehead of the boy and smiled in apology. Immediately, his frightening image disappeared from the minds, replaced by a kind, handsome looking heroic figure.

”Big brother, who are you? Are you one of those heroes who protect us from the demons?” from the words of he boy, one could tell that the villagers here had a good impression of the knights and called them heroes.

Reinahrdt nodded his head. He then thought for a second before taking out the chocolates he purchased earlier to give to his women, in front of the children.

”I have some questions. If you all can answer them, you can take these chocolates. Of course, inform your mother first, and only if she gives permission than can you eat it. Do you all understand?”

With the bribe of the chocolates he dangled in front of them, the children quickly became obedient.

”First, tell me what do you all mean by the blood sacrifice ritual that the priest is conducting”.

In such a rural village, chocolates were rare. The only time they get to eat any is when a trader visits every month or two. As such, they truthfully answered everything.

”Big brother, blood sacrifice ritual is the offering we give to the seven old gods for their continued blessing and prosperity of the village. It was something brought by the new priest when he came to our village”.

”Oh?” Reinhardt narrowed his eyes.

”Erik is speaking the truth. The new priest is amazing. Not only can he use incredible skills, but those who offer a little of their blood every night in the prayer hall have their injuries healed, old people are relieved of their body aches, and pregnant women for the blessing of their child”.

”Un, un, all the adults do it. Erik also became eligible to give his blood yesterday”.
