The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 336: Chapter 336- A Growing Concern

”It appears that we have underestimated the demons. They caught us by surprise this time”.

”You don’t mean...?!!”

Sensing something off from the tone of the Hell Marshal, the Dark Knight came to a chilling realisation.

”If it were just the Twelfth army, the Warlock’s report would not be so serious. The reason why he asked for reinforcement is becasue, it is not just one army but two. The Warlock also spotted demons from the Eleventh Army marching from the other side of the tainted lands”.

This time, even Reinhardt was shocked. Two Heavenly Kings and over hundreds of thousands of demons. Not to mention the numerous high grade demons and Demon Generals. Even for a level 10 hero, it was asking too much to take on the army of two heavenly kings.

”I have already called out to the other two; however, it’s the same as one month ago. The high grade labyrinth is blocking all communication. We cannot count on the other two for this battle”.

To make matters worse, the other two heroes of Aetherion were out on an expedition to the Tainted Lands and out of reach for more than a couple of months now.

”Sir Heinrich, please go and reinforce the Warlock. I can handle things in the capital on my own”.

”Hm? Can’t you see that this is a ploy? The demons clearly want Aetherion to focus all of the strength towards the borders so that they can kill you without any intervention.”

The Dark Knight used himself as the bait to lure out the demons. However, it ended up backfiring on him.

”The safety of the Aetherion and its people is more important than my life. Sir Herinrich, rest assured that I will not die easily. I’m the Dark Knight; no matter who my opponent is, I will win”.

Vaerion spoke with determination. It seemed like he was hell bent on going through the plan even if it meant fighting the demons alone.

The Hell Marshall fell into contemplation. It was at this moment, Reinahrdt spoke up.

”You guys, I’ll be offended if you exclude me from your conversation. Sir Heinrich, please go and support the Warlock in the borders. Leave the matters of the capital to us. The Dark Knight is not alone, you also have the Divine Paladin here”.

As if dispelling all darkness and despair, the light his presence brought was like a ray of hope, brilliant and inextinguishable. Both Heinrich and Vaerion looked towards him, their eyes showing their gratitude.

”I will not say thank you. Instead, I will forever remember this favour”.

”No need for that, as knights, or rather as heroes who are the guardians of humanity, we don’t need a pretext to fight. The demons are our common enemy”. Reinhardt was a demon racist, an extremist.

”Besides, I’m sure the reason why the Hell Mashal called me here is because he wanted to hear those words from me”.

The latter might be older than them and a wily fox; however, nothing escapes the [Eyes of Divine Clarity].

Hearing those words, Heinrich laughed. ”I guess I cannot fool the one they call the Divine Paladin. Indeed, I somewhat hoped for you to say that. As you can see, this guy is a hopeless fool who thinks less with his brains and more with his brawn”...

”I can’t have a hero of my kingdom dying on me, no matter how minuscule the chances are. One cannot underestimate the demons; that’s what our ancestors did, and look where it got us. The demons have been winning this war throughout history precisely because they have been a step or two ahead of us. As such, for this plan to be a success, I wanted your help. Let’s turn the tables on the demons for the very first time in human history”.

The Hell Marshal got that class for a reason. His words were filled with such zeal and passion that they managed to even raise the spirits of the Heroes.

Days remaining for the wedding- two.

.

On this day, Reinhardt couldn’t get this feeling off of him that something was amiss. Something big, something that all of them were overlooking.

Although he had enough confidence to win against any opponent or situation, he had this growing concern within him that strength would not help him in this situation. What’s more, it was not just a hunch, but an actual premonition coming from his [Celestial Harmony] divine trait.

[Celestrail Harmony]Description: A perfect balance between body, mind, and spirit. Effect: Enhances the character’s reflexes, focus, and coordination. They can react to dangers faster than thought and make flawless decisions under pressure.

It was because of this trait that he was starting to feel that something was being overlooked.

”I guess I have no choice but to involve her too,” Reinahrdt sighed and did what he would never even think of before.

A while later, Reinhardt stood at the viewpoint overlooking the magnificent waterfalls of the Aetherion. This place was exactly the place where the incident happened last time.

Clank... Clank... the sound of something cold and hard hitting the ground rang beside him. Reinhardt did not turn and continued to stare at the waterfalls in a daze.

Finally, the person walked over and stood beside him by the railing. Long, straight black with crimson highlight, an armor that looked like it was forged from fire, and those crimson eyes that seemed like they would tear apart those who dared to gaze at her.

The knight who was standing beside him was none other than the legendary hero of Nocturnium and the person who probably hated him the most in this world.

Erza Crimsonstar stood beside Reinhardt, her expression twisted in a rageful scowl.

”Speak, why did you call me here?” The latter sighed and finally spoke the words he knew he would regret.

”I need your help”.

”I’m going,” The reply was fast and curt, the crimson knight turned to leave.
