The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 340: Chapter 340- Preamble To Chaos (2)

”Yeah, I didn’t think they would start a day early. Though it does not make any difference in what we must do”. Vaerion spoke, looking towards the Summoning Gate in the sky with a serious expression

”Right”.

The two heroes conversed, attracting the attention of all the kings and Queens.

”Reinhardt, what’s going on?” The Queen of Solaris asked. She could tell that these two legendary heroes knew something that others didn’t.

”Your majesties, please forgive me for encompassing all of you in our mess. After we clean all the demons from our land, the Kingdom of Aetherion will give you a proper explanation,” the one to speak was Vaerion.

”Father, mother!!” At this moment, Diana also entered the scene, in her wedding dress. With slight makeup, a pristine white dress, curly blonde hair that was neatly tied behind her back, and in that veil, she looked absolutely beautiful.

Protecting her were knights from the Black Gryffin Legion. After noticing the disturbance, she rushed here from the annex, only to witness half of the castle destroyed.

It was not only her, the second prince, along with his own entourage, also arrived here, attracted over by the commotion.

”Kfufu... it looks like the entire family is here. In that case, shall we begin this blood fest?”

From inside the explosion earlier, the figure of Cedric walked out, looking slightly different. His body now a head taller, his eyes crimson, skin pale, he gave off a disturbing feeling that made one unnerved.

”Demonisation!!”

Reinhardt muttered under his breath. Unlike other demonic humans, Cerdric was no ordinary pawn of theirs but someone with the strength of a level 9 extreme knight. Needless to say, the demons gave him some kind of power that increased his strength even further.

”The place looks quite lively. How about you all include us in the fun too?”

A deep grating voice that gave one chills rang beside everyone’s ears, drawing everyone’s attention back towards the swirl in the sky.

At this moment, a figure slowly stepped out from the summoning gate. Decked out in armor like the knights, the being had pale white skin and a handsome face that would turn the heads of the ladies.

However, make no mistake, as the being was no knight or human per se, but one of the most dangerous creatures in the world, a demon.

Carrying his head with his hands, the figure looked down on the world. The Twelfth Heavenly King, the Lord of Maniacs, Skarnyx, made landfall.

The moment he stepped out of the gate, the air of the capital turned suffocating, with black clouds looming over the sky out of nowhere. Furthermore, he was not alone; following behind were demons that appeared extremely close to humans and with five horns protruding from their heads.

Demon Generals, beings who stood above the high grade demons and possessed the power to raze an entire city all by themselves. What’s more, there were more than five of them flying behind Skarnyx.

Then came hundreds of high ranking demons, thousands and thousands of middle ranking demons, and uncountable low ranking demons.

In the blink of an eye, the place had turned into a nightmare. The residents of the capital who looked up fell into despair. However, the true despair was yet to begin.

Lord of Maniacs stepped forward and unleashed his powerful aura and status effects that pushed the people of the capital into a deeper pit of hell.

The Twelfth Heavenly King— The Lord of Manaics asserts his titles.

[Bearer of False Faith]- Reduces morale and resistance to fear effects by 10%. Priests, paladins, or anyone channeling holy energy suffer a slight delay or instability in their skills. Demons gain major regeneration, and their attacks leave a lingering soul fatigue, draining stamina slowly.

[Ashen Despair]- Whenever a human ally falls in battle, nearby humans suffer a brief morale collapse (-5% defense/attack for a few seconds). Demons grow emboldened with each fallen human, stacking a +2% attack boost (up to 20%).

[Unholy Echo]-....

[Profane Blight]-....

.

.

It was like a dark, dark nightmare from which there was no awakening. Every human at this moment felt themselves getting weakened. The power exerted by a Heavenly King was so immense that some even started going crazy.

However, humanity was not completely defenceless. They had knights, the sworn protectors of the realm, on their side. At that very instant, every high ranking and extreme knight released their own title effects, providing a massive boost and counter against the Lord of Manaic’s power.

Nevertheless, there was still a fundamental difference in level between them and a Heavenly King. Their titles could not completely disperse the despair that the latter exerted.

”Roar Vathor!!”

It was at this moment, one of the heroes of Aetherion shouted. His voice, commanding and distinct, rang powerfully across the capital.

Following his shout, a piercing cry spread through the city, and a mighty creature landed in the royal palace a few seconds later.

The Dark Knight asserts his titles.

Following the Heavenly King, the legendary hero who stood as the final wall between mankind and annihilation, completely unleashed his aura.

[Bulwark of Humanity]-Increases allies’ physical and magical defense by 20% within a large radius. Demonic foes suffer a 10% decrease in penetration and armor-bypassing effects.

[Sworn Champion]- Human allies gain 15% increased attack power. Demons struck by the knight’s blade suffer reduced healing and regeneration by 20% for a short time.

[Sword of the People]-...

[Vanguard of Dusk]-...

[Herald of Heroism]-...

The man had many titles that were no less powerful than the Heavenly King. Instantly, the deathly effects that spread through the city, was offset by Vaerion’s presence.

”Knights of the Black Gryffin Legion and all other knight orders of the realm, answer my call. The enemy is knocking on our doors; they have invaded the very place where our family and loved ones live. If we don’t make a stand here, we all die. This is the time you take up arms and fight alongside me. Let’s show these vile demons the will of humanity.”
