School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 236: Chapter 265: The Grass Hut on the Mountain Top, Junior Sister’s Dwelling

Chen Nan drove a Land Rover Range Rover, which officially topped out at 225 mph, but in fact, that was just the top safe driving speed. Pushed to its limits, it could reach a top speed of 280 mph.

The vehicle was heavy, but with a 5.0L displacement, the explosive power of the engine was undeniable.

However, at such high speeds, the safety performance was greatly compromised; after all, it’s impossible for a vehicle with a chassis clearance of only twenty or thirty centimeters to perform as safely as a sports car.

After leaving the Su family villa, Chen Nan filled up the gas tank at a gas station and bought several 60-liter fuel barrels, filling them and taking them on board. With the pedal firmly to the metal, he sped west at a blistering 280 mph, flying like a plane and leaving the drivers and traffic police he passed by utterly astonished.

Eight hours later, as the sun rose in the east heralding a new day, Chen Nan arrived at Hua Xia’s northwest border, a sparsely populated waste.

He checked his navigation for Fire Qilin Mountain’s location, about a hundred li away.

After refueling from a barrel, Chen Nan set off once more.

Since the area was scarcely populated, with no concrete roads, just a bumpy and rutted dirt track, but for this SUV, almost as tough as a tank, such mud roads were its forte.

Driven by anxiety, Chen Nan maintained nearly 100 mph across the rough track.

Traveling several tens of li more, Chen Nan entered a deep mountain forest where no large road remained, the trees denser and only a narrow mountain path remained, impassable by car.

Stopping the vehicle in the mountains, Chen Nan got out.

He checked the map on his phone for the location of Fire Qilin Mountain and then, light on his feet and employing Qinggong, dashed quickly towards Fire Qilin Mountain.

His shadow flickered through the woods, sprinting with great speed, much faster than any car.

Following the map’s directions, in less than ten minutes, Chen Nan reached the foot of Fire Qilin Mountain.

The soil was crimson atop Fire Qilin Mountain, the middle to lower part of the mountain seemed ablaze, the temperature soaring to forty degrees, while the summit was perennially covered in snow, indicating a great variation in temperature. Such an Ice and Fire Double Heaven was presumably the only environment capable of nurturing the Divine Medicine, Mixed Element Fire Lotus.

Fire Qilin Mountain had an altitude of 2,900 meters and from base to peak was roughly 1,200 meters.

Chen Nan, standing at the base of the mountain, took several deep breaths to slightly restore his Inner Strength before striding vigorously towards the peak.

Using Qinggong, it took Chen Nan a mere two minutes to reach the summit of Fire Qilin Mountain.

Surveying the world covered with ice and snow before him, Chen Nan scanned the surroundings eagerly, feeling excited. His little martial sister, Yiyi, was on this mountain. He would find her soon!

”Yiyi, where are you?”

Standing at a higher point, Chen Nan shouted loudly.

All around, silence answered him.

A chill went through Chen Nan’s heart, the excitement cooling as if drenched by a bucket of cold water; a sense of foreboding spread within him.

Could his little martial sister have already met with misfortune?

He had been better off not thinking about it, but once the thought entered his mind, Chen Nan’s brain became a mess.

His little martial sister had come to gather herbs for him, enduring the harsh conditions of this ice and fire territory, protecting the Fire Lotus and suffering from the cold for a full two years. If she had encountered any misfortune because he was a step too late, he would never forgive himself in his lifetime.

The peaks of Fire Qilin Mountain covered dozens of li, with seven or eight mountaintops enveloped in ice and snow.

Finding the highest mountain peak, Chen Nan rushed up, stood at its top, and scanned the surroundings for any trace of his little martial sister.

Soon, Chen Nan saw numerous fresh bloodstains near a mountain peak, and among these blood traces, there lay several corpses, severed limbs and broken weapons scattered on the ground.

Without a doubt, a fierce battle had taken place here not long ago.

”Junior sister!”

Chen Nan’s heart became chaotic, and he leaped directly off the top of the mountain peak. His feet performed Slaughter God Seven Steps at an extreme speed, stepping through the air and rushing towards the battlefield.

After dashing forward for seven steps, Chen Nan’s body landed on the ground, moving like a flash of light, he reached the vicinity of the battlefield in the blink of an eye.

Glancing at the seven or eight bodies around him, which included six men and two women, Ye Yiyi was not among them, allowing Chen Nan to breathe a sigh of relief.

”Junior Sister, where on earth are you? Answer me if you hear this!”

Chen Nan shouted loudly like a madman, running non-stop across the battlefield, hoping only to find some clues related to his junior sister.

”Silver Bell Rope!”

Chen Nan’s pupils suddenly narrowed, and he saw a white silk ribbon tied with a silver bell twenty meters away, the weapon most commonly used by his junior sister.

Chen Nan rushed over and grabbed the Silver Bell Rope in his hands, his jaws clenched tight, his hands slightly trembling.

The Silver Bell Rope was stained with fresh blood; what was originally a six-meter-long ribbon had now been reduced to only two meters, having been cut by a sword, and the other half was nowhere to be seen.

Chen Nan held the half of the Silver Bell Rope to his nose and smelled it, still catching the scent of his junior sister, a faint fragrance mixed with a heartbreaking scent of blood.

”Yiyi!”

Chen Nan’s heart ached intensely, gripping the Silver Bell Rope tightly as tears unbiddenly flowed down his face.

He could now be almost certain that the people who had died around him had definitely come to vie for the Mixed Element Fire Lotus. Being outmatched in strength, they were slain here by their adversaries.

”Didn’t the letter from my junior sister say there was a Spiritual Beast guarding the area? Why haven’t I seen any fierce beasts?”

Clutching the Silver Bell Rope, Chen Nan ran around the bloodied and snowy terrain until in a lower-lying area, he spotted a giant beast stretching five meters in length.

It was a dead fierce beast!

Chen Nan hurried over, only to see the beast with a horse head, lion eyes, a tiger’s back, and a deer’s body, growing double horns on its head, its body covered in red and white scale armor, bearing a striking resemblance to the mythical Qilin from legends.

It had seven or eight wounds on its body, with two long swords sticking into its abdomen. This Spiritual Beast guarding the Fire Lotus had seemingly been killed by a group of people who had come to harvest the Divine Medicine.

Ice and Fire Qilin Beast!

Chen Nan recognized the identity of the beast, identical to the Ice and Fire Qilin Beast described in ancient texts.

After carefully inspecting the surroundings without finding any clues, Chen Nan was about to leave and search elsewhere. However, just as he turned around, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a Thatched House on the other side of the mountain.

If his junior sister had been living on the mountain for two years, could this Thatched House be her dwelling?

With this possibility in mind, Chen Nan took large strides, rushing toward the Thatched House at great speed.

(I’m not feeling very well today. And as my junior sister is about to make another appearance, I need to think it through carefully. The update might be delayed a bit, so please forgive me!)
