Chapter 191: Chapter 215: Alcohol Tolerance

”Wow, I didn’t expect you to have such a decent tolerance for alcohol, drinking not much slower than me,” Jiang Xiaomi said as she picked up another bottle of liquor, looking at Chen Nan with some surprise.

Chen Nan grabbed a bottle, ”Cut the chatter, come on, I need to get you drunk so I can go home.”

”You won’t be going home today,” Jiang Xiaomi said confidently, ”Because I’m going to get you drunk and make you my man, then take you home to meet my dad.”

Chen Nan was speechless.

Was this girl thinking too much?

They hadn’t even gotten to know each other well, and she was already thinking about meeting the parents.

”Bang...”

Their bottles clinked together, and they both tipped their heads back to drink.

By this time, many people around had noticed them, watching as the man and woman drank whiskey like it was a soft drink. They downed a whole bottle in one go, and everyone was agape, barely believing what they were seeing.

If a man drank so boldly, that wasn’t too unusual, but how could this woman be so wild?

Could it be... this is the legendary heroism? A heroine?

”Clack...”

The two finished their drinks at the same time, slamming the bottles down on the table. Jiang Xiaomi called out to the bartender, ”Another ten bottles of whiskey.”

Upon hearing this, not only did the bartender jump in shock, but everyone around was utterly astonished.

Both of them had already consumed two bottles each, and ten more meant they were each planning to drink five more?

Damn, this is hard liquor, whiskey, not red wine, let alone beer!

For a moment, everyone in the bar stopped what they were doing, glasses in hand, eyes wide open, watching Chen Nan and Jiang Xiaomi, wondering whether they would end up dead drunk or simply pass out.

After the ten bottles of whiskey were brought over, the two grabbed one each and clinked them together.

”Come on, drink!”

They both shouted robustly, tilting their heads back and guzzling down the liquor, truly reminiscent of the heroes from ancient times.

One bottle!

Two bottles!

Three bottles!

After each drinking three more bottles, Jiang Xiaomi slowed down by a second or two to finish the fourth bottle.

”You freak, you’re really something,” said Jiang Xiaomi, her cheeks flushed with two spots of red, glancing at the last two bottles on the table. Without hesitation, she picked up one and said, ”Come on, continue drinking, I refuse to believe I can’t get you drunk.”

”I’d advise you to just give up early to save yourself from getting half-dead drunk and losing face,” Chen Nan said with a smile, picking up a bottle.

Jiang Xiaomi clinked her bottle against his, ”Cut the crap, you’re definitely no match for me.”

Chen Nan shrugged his shoulders, ready to drink, but just then, his phone rang. It was a call from Su Qingqing.

Jiang Xiaomi leaned over to take a look and stopped Chen Nan from answering the call, ”Don’t you dare answer it!”

”Why not?”

Jiang Xiaomi pouted, ”No reason, just because you’re my man for the afternoon and you have to do as I say.”

”But I haven’t been at school all afternoon. She is my cousin, she must be worried, which is why she’s calling.”

”You can’t even answer your cousin. You have to stay with me right now,” Jiang Xiaomi said stubbornly, hesitating for a moment before adding, ”Just send her a text to let her know you’re safe, then turn off your phone.”

Chen Nan, left with no choice, texted Su Qingqing and then turned off his phone.

They picked up their bottles again.

After each downing another bottle, Jiang Xiaomi’s pace slowed further. She glanced over at the bar and shouted, ”Bring another ten bottles!”

As those words were spoken, the bar instantly erupted with a chorus of astonished gasps; the onlookers were thoroughly dumbstruck.

Up until now, each of them had finished seven bottles—seven bottles!

It was simply an astronomical figure!

Everyone thought that after these next ten bottles, they would surely be unable to finish and would get drunk, but to their surprise, not only did they finish without getting drunk, but they also wanted another ten bottles!

Were they intending to drink the spirits like water?

But even if they did drink it like water, wouldn’t their bellies burst?

”She’s a true iron woman!” someone exclaimed with awe.

”Yeah, such a fierce lady, I’m afraid only the guy in front of her could possibly tame her.”

”Freak, monster, simply inhuman!”

”...”

Chen Nan and Jiang Xiaomi chose to ignore the whispers of these people.

Because the ten bottles of Whiskey had already been delivered.

”Hey, do you want to rest a bit before drinking more?”

Jiang Xiaomi was slightly drunk, with a flushed face.

Although Chen Nan was also feeling it, he was not greatly affected and laughed, ”What’s the matter, giving up so soon?”

”Nonsense, I’m just afraid you’ll drink yourself to death here,” Jiang Xiaomi retorted unwillingly, grabbing a bottle in each hand and proclaimed, ”Come on, let’s drink two bottles at once. I haven’t met anyone who can match me yet, and I don’t believe I can’t outdrink you.”

Chen Nan also picked up two bottles, clinked them against hers and tipped his head back to pour the liquor into his mouth.

It didn’t take long before Chen Nan placed two empty bottles on the table, while Jiang Xiaomi had just finished one.

”Give it up!” Chen Nan said with a smile, ”Don’t force yourself. There’s no shame in admitting defeat; it won’t be good if you get a bleeding stomach from this.”

Jiang Xiaomi set down one empty bottle and stared at Chen Nan with a wobbly head, scoffing, ”I’m not drunk; you’re definitely no match for me.” She continued drinking unabated.

Chen Nan was speechless; in his experience, those who insisted they weren’t drunk were usually already seven or eight-tenths gone.

Jiang Xiaomi took a full five minutes with this bottle and still didn’t finish it. The alcohol was already taking its effect inside her, making her head heavy and fuzzy. She put down her bottle, stared at Chen Nan for a moment, and suddenly asked, ”Hey, why are there two heads growing on your neck?”

Chen Nan was speechless for a moment, ”You’re drunk.”

”I’m not!”

Jiang Xiaomi leaned on the table, her eyes wide open, looking at Chen Nan and said, ”Hey, handsome, you look a lot like my future husband!”

”...”

Chen Nan was utterly speechless.

If rolling his eyes hadn’t seemed too effeminate, Chen Nan really would have liked to give her one.

”Say something!” Jiang Xiaomi scratched her head and mumbled, ”Why do you look so familiar to me? I feel like hitting on you!”

It wasn’t just Chen Nan who was speechless; everyone at the scene was.

”Stop your drunken antics, I’ll take you home,” Chen Nan said helplessly, after settling the bar tab, he hoisted Jiang Xiaomi up and headed outside.

Their drinking bout had lasted over half an hour.

After leaving the bar, Chen Nan carried Jiang Xiaomi onto the motorcycle.

Since she was already drunk, Chen Nan didn’t trust her to sit at the back, so he had her sit on the fuel tank while he rode the bike from behind her.

Having found Jiang Xiaomi’s keychain, Chen Nan was ready to take her home, but at that moment Jiang Xiaomi suddenly turned her head, her eyes wide open, gazing at Chen Nan unblinkingly, completely enchanted.
