School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 161: Chapter 183: Hit in the Head by a Donkey

This is trouble!

Chen Nan inwardly cursed, the thug’s kitchen knife was pressed against Lan Yuqin’s neck, and even if he took action, he couldn’t guarantee that she wouldn’t be harmed.

After all, an emotionally charged criminal is capable of anything.

The situation had become tense, and Chen Nan was silently waiting for an opportunity.

Soon, the police arrived at the scene, and the one leading them was surprisingly Qin Yixuan. However, the presence of the police didn’t calm the criminal. Instead, it made him even more agitated, causing the wound on Lan Yuqin’s neck to bleed more profusely.

”Sir, please put the weapon down quickly, she is innocent,” Qin Yixuan said.

Although Qin Yixuan was hot-tempered, with the hostage in the criminal’s hands, she had to be extra careful.

”I’m not crazy, don’t you come any closer,” the deranged man, his eyes bloodshot, stared around and roared hoarsely, ”My daughter died in your hospital, if you don’t return my daughter, I will kill her.”

Even though Qin Yixuan had a gun in her hand, she didn’t want to kill the criminal unless absolutely necessary, since he had lost his daughter and was mentally unstable, ”She is innocent; let her go quickly. Do not act rashly, we can talk this through.”

”Talk my ass, return my daughter!”

The frenzied criminal, his eyes webbed with bloody streaks, shouted angrily.

Qin Yixuan’s brows were tightly knit. According to information provided by the hospital, the man’s daughter had succumbed to meningitis and died there. The tragedy had caused the man to lose control of his emotions, becoming delirious and demanding the hospital return his daughter.

”Crazy woman, back off, let me handle this,” Chen Nan patted Qin Yixuan on the shoulder.

Qin Yixuan turned and saw Chen Nan, a wave of relief washing over her, ”How come you’re here as well?”

”Don’t worry about that, with you police here, it will only further agitate the criminal. Step back, I’ll sort him out for you.” Although Chen Nan was no saint, he wasn’t a bad person either and possessed some sense of chivalry; besides, the hostage was Lan Yuqin—there was no way he wouldn’t save her!

Qin Yixuan hesitated for a moment, ”Okay, we’ll step back.”

She knew full well what Chen Nan was capable of. Since he had said so, it indicated that he must be confident in handling the thug.

Lan Yuqin’s face was getting paler, perhaps from losing too much blood, and even her usually rosy lips had turned pale.

If this went on for too long, although it wouldn’t cost her life, the excessive blood loss would definitely affect her health.

Chen Nan stepped forward from the crowd and said to Zhang Da, ”Hey uncle, what kind of skill is it for a big man like you to hold a woman hostage? Let me be your hostage instead.”

Chen Nan!

Lan Yuqin’s expression changed, and she felt a pang in her heart.

She never expected Chen Nan to appear here, and more so, to stick his neck out to save her without regard for his own safety. She was moved by his gesture, ”I don’t need you to switch with me, get back.”

While Lan Yuqin was indeed afraid, she didn’t want Chen Nan to risk his life for her.

Hearing their conversation, the bystanders were somewhat dumbfounded.

Had the brains of these two been kicked by a donkey or squeezed by a door? While others were too scared to even move, here they were—one wanting to voluntarily become a hostage, and the other refusing to leave the grip of the criminal—it seemed there’s no shortage of fools year after year, and this year they were in abundance, two right in front of them!

Unlike the stupefied crowd, the mentally disturbed Zhang Da clung desperately to Lan Yu, his eyes sunken deep into their sockets, glaring like fiery beads, and roared at Chen Nan, ”Why should I exchange her for you? Can you bring back my daughter if I do?”

”Of course I can!”

Chen Nan took two steps forward and said, ”The dean of this hospital is my uncle, if you take me hostage, he will definitely compensate for your daughter.”

Chen Nan was just talking nonsense, how could he compensate when the person was already dead?

However, to the deranged uncle, these words were like a light of hope, and his eyes immediately lit up, ”Fine, you come over here and I’ll release this woman.”

”Deal!”

Chen Nan walked towards the thug with an indifferent expression on his face.

”Don’t come any closer!” Lan Yuqin stared at Chen Nan, emphasizing her tone.

The deranged uncle immediately tightened the knife around Lan Yuqin’s neck and scolded, ”Shut your mouth. If he comes over, I can get compensation for my daughter. If you dare to obstruct me, I’ll slash you to death!”

Lan Yuqin’s neck wound was cut deeper, causing her to shiver from the pain, while at this moment, Chen Nan had already approached.

”Don’t move!”

The deranged uncle immediately placed the kitchen knife against Chen Nan’s neck, then pushed Lan Yuqin away with one hand.

The police hurried over, trying to move Lan Yuqin to a safe place for treatment, but she refused to leave, covering the wound on her neck with one hand, and watched Chen Nan with great concern.

”Ms. Lan, why are you in the hospital too?”

Su Yixuan, who had been standing in the back, walked over. Lan Yuqin was Su Qingqing’s homeroom teacher and, naturally, as her sister, she knew her.

”You’re here too, Ms. Su? A friend of mine is ill, I came to visit,” said Lan Yuqin. ”Oh, I see now, this cousin of yours came with you, right?”

Cousin?

Su Yixuan was startled for a moment, then remembered Su Qingqing pretending to be Chen Nan’s cousin, and nodded, ”Yes, he came for a physical check-up.”

Lan Yuqin looked towards Chen Nan and said, ”I’m really sorry, if it wasn’t for me, he wouldn’t have had to take such a risk.”

”Don’t worry about it. He’s very capable, nothing will happen to him.”

Su Yixuan knew Chen Nan’s abilities better than anyone; in their previous encounter on the road, Chen Nan had managed to defeat seven or eight gunmen barehanded. Given this deranged uncle only had a kitchen knife, he definitely wouldn’t be able to handle Chen Nan.

Lan Yuqin nodded, her gaze shifted back to Chen Nan, and she saw him smiling, with not even a hint of nervousness on his face.

He... he can still smile?

Lan Yuqin was somewhat dumbfounded.

At this moment, the deranged uncle noticed Chen Nan’s cryptic smile and suddenly yelled, ”What the fuck are you smiling about? Call your damn uncle the dean to compensate for my daughter, or I’ll slash you to death!”

Chen Nan looked at the deranged uncle, sighed and said, ”Do you feel light-headed and sleepy? If so, that’s correct. Congratulations, you’ve been poisoned. Have a good sleep.”

The deranged uncle was stunned for a moment, then he felt his head become heavy and his face turned pale, his eyes nearly bulging out. He felt weak all over and seemed on the verge of falling asleep at any moment.

”My... my daughter...”

With a final cry of defiance, the deranged uncle collapsed, falling to the ground completely unconscious.

In an instant, everyone in the room was shocked, their eyes nearly popping out, mouths agape, scarcely believing what they had just witnessed. The deranged uncle was full of energy just a moment ago, how could he suddenly fall asleep?

Damn, what the hell is going on?
