School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 182: Chapter 205: Boundlessly Arrogant

Chen Nan drove the police car, and after leaving the bumpy rural road, he turned on the siren and charged down the road at full speed, frightening other vehicles into giving way, thinking the police were handling a case.

”Driving a police car is just exhilarating!”

Seeing everyone make way for him, Chen Nan sighed with satisfaction. As he approached the intersection, the light was red, but he didn’t slow down at all. Instead, he floored the gas pedal and charged through.

His sudden surge forward startled the drivers in the adjacent lanes. To prevent a collision, they frantically hit the brakes.

As a result, the first car braked hard, but the cars behind failed to react in time. Suddenly, a series of ”bang bang bang” sounds could be heard, a plethora of rear-end collisions, leaving the drivers cursing furiously, ”Damn it, what kind of quality is this for a cop!”

Chen Nan had no idea that his casual running of the red light had caused so many accidents. He continued at undiminished speed with the siren wailing, committing every traffic violation he could. If Qin Yixuan saw this scene, she would probably be furious enough to lose her cool.

Even in a police car, one shouldn’t mess around like this!

The car was a newer model Bora, high-spec with navigation. After Chen Nan set the destination, it took him just over ten minutes to arrive at Tianfu Garden Villas.

Following Lan Feihu’s instructions, Chen Nan found Yang Wu’s residence.

The villa’s gate was open, so Chen Nan didn’t give it much thought and walked straight in. He called out a few times in the lobby, but what puzzled him was the lack of response.

Could he not be home?

Chen Nan frowned. Since he had come all this way, he naturally wouldn’t leave easily, so he started searching inside.

After checking every room on the first floor and seeing no one, Chen Nan didn’t hesitate to head to the second floor. But as he pushed open the first room on the second floor, he was taken aback by the sight before him.

A man in his twenties lay in a pool of blood with a dagger sticking out of his heart, blood still seeping out, and the room was filled with a thick stench of blood.

Was he murdered?

Chen Nan rushed over and shook the man by the shoulders, ”Hey, are you completely dead? Are you Yang Wu?”

The man didn’t move. Chen Nan reached down to check under his nose, and he was no longer breathing.

Chen Nan frisked the man to confirm his identity, pulling out his wallet and finding an ID card with the name Yang Wu on it.

”Damn it, couldn’t you have died later? Now who am I supposed to ask for the painting?”

Chen Nan cursed, then started rummaging through the room, searching for the painting. With Yang Wu dead, Chen Nan believed that if the painting was still here, it was most likely in this room.

At this very moment, from outside the window, a pair of eyes were fixed on Chen Nan, shining with a gleam of a conspiracy fulfilled.

Chen Nan seemed to sense something and suddenly looked up towards the window, but saw nothing—the eyes had already disappeared.

Shaking his head without giving it much more thought, Chen Nan continued searching the room for half an hour, checking every possible place, but he couldn’t find the painting. He suspected that it might have been taken by the person who killed Yang Wu. Just then, a set of hurried footsteps approached, and the room’s door was kicked open.

”Freeze, police!”

Four plainclothes officers with guns rushed in, led by none other than Qin Yixuan.

She glanced at the room, tossed about in disarray, and gradually began to tremble, addressing Chen Nan, ”You committed murder!”

”I didn’t kill anyone.”

Chen Nan felt his explanation was so feeble and powerless. Now that Yang Wu was dead, and he had been found searching Yang’s room, to make matters worse, the police happened to witness the scene.

Qin Yixuan stared intently at Chen Nan, pointing a gun at him, ”Just now, someone called me, saying there was a murder here and the culprit was still stealing things. I didn’t expect it to be you. Chen Nan, you’re such a disappointment!”

”I’ll say it again, I didn’t kill anyone. He was already dead when I got here!” Chen Nan emphasized.

He felt something was off. The moment he had entered the room, he felt as if there were eyes spying on him from outside the window, but when he looked up, he saw nothing. Now someone had reported the crime, and it was likely that the murderer was trying to frame someone else after the killing.

”Guilty or not, you are now the prime suspect. Come back with me and we’ll talk,” Qin Yixuan said, walking towards Chen Nan, preparing to apprehend him.

Chen Nan took two steps back toward the window, ”I need to find someone right now, I can’t go with you.”

He suspected that there indeed was someone peering from outside the window, and it wasn’t an illusion. The person who killed Yang Wu must be that observer, and the painting was very likely in his possession.

”Then I’ll have to drag you back myself!”

Visibly angered, Qin Yixuan spoke while pointing the gun at Chen Nan, striding toward him. She didn’t want to believe Chen Nan was the culprit, but given his suspicious behavior, she had no choice but to detain him.

The other police officers who were with Qin Yixuan also began to close in.

”If that’s how it is, then this is goodbye.”

As Chen Nan spoke, he kicked off the ground, his body swiftly lunging towards the window.

”Stop right there!”

Qin Yixuan shouted, pointing the gun at Chen Nan’s back, but she couldn’t bring herself to shoot. She hurried after him, and without a second thought, leaped through the window as well.

Chen Nan had just landed when he was about to flee, but realizing Qin Yixuan had jumped down too, his expression changed, and he cursed, ”You’re crazy, you don’t care about your life!” Quickly, he rushed over and caught her in his arms, ensuring they both landed safely.

After falling into his arms, instead of saying thanks, Qin Yixuan grabbed Chen Nan’s hands, ”You bastard, don’t even think about escaping!”

Chen Nan felt helpless, ”I really can’t go back with you. I need to find a painting now, and it’s very important to me. It’s very likely in the hands of the murderer. I have to go now, do you understand?”

”Is it the painting your junior sister left?”

”Exactly.”

Qin Yixuan fell silent for a moment then released his hands, ”Then go.”

”Trust me, I’ll give you an explanation later.”

Chen Nan nodded. Then he felt around on his person, pulled out a dart, and, in the moment he turned, shot it toward a Porsche Cayenne fifty meters away.

The moment he had jumped out the window, he felt eyes watching him from the darkness, as sinister as a poisonous snake, just like the ones he’d sensed outside the window previously, making him quite uncomfortable.

Initially, Chen Nan had only acted on intuition, uncertain of the watcher’s position, but while talking to Qin Yixuan, he had clearly sensed those serpent-like eyes were inside the nearby Cayenne.

The murderer was hiding in the car, enjoying the show!

The instant the dart flew, Chen Nan’s body shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, charging at full speed towards the Porsche Cayenne.
