School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 152: Chapter 174: The Identity of the Person in the Painting

”Why does he look so familiar?”

”I must ask about this later!”

Staring at the old man, Chen Nan was filled with doubts. If it weren’t for the age difference, Chen Nan would even suspect that the old man was the middle-aged man who had stolen the painting.

”What are you spacing out for?” Lan Yuqin tugged at Chen Nan and said, ”This is my grandfather.”

Chen Nan came back to his senses, walked forward a few steps, and greeted with a smile, ”Hello, Grandpa.”

”Are you Xiao Chen? Truly a talent!” Lan Qingfeng said with a smile, pointing to the couch next to him, ”Don’t just stand there, come and sit down.”

”Thank you, Grandpa!”

Chen Nan walked over and sat down, but his attention remained on the old man’s face.

Lan Qingfeng’s smile was kind. He glanced at Lan Yuqin and said, ”Yu Qin, go and pour Xiao Chen a cup of tea.”

Chen Nan quickly said, ”Grandpa, please don’t trouble yourself, Lan Teacher is my teacher; how can I let her pour tea for me!” While saying this, Chen Nan sneakily glanced at Lan Yuqin, as if to say: Honey, go pour the tea for me.

Lan Yuqin glared at him fiercely, furious inside. This guy was putting on an act; he was nothing short of a hypocrite.

Seeing that Lan Yuqin didn’t move but instead looked somewhat resentful, Lan Qingfeng frowned, ”What are you waiting for, child? Go on!”

Stomping her foot in reluctance, Lan Yuqin turned around to pour the tea.

”Don’t mind her, Xiao Chen. Yu Qin just has this lazy streak—she frowns whenever asked to do something,” Lan Qingfeng said with a rueful smile.

So this chick is lazy!

Watching Lan Yuqin, who was bending over in front of the water dispenser, Chen Nan shook his head and smiled, ”Grandpa, don’t say that. I think Lan Teacher is very nice, gentle and kind, and meticulous in her teaching. All the classmates like her a lot!”

The old man, pleased by these words, grinned from ear to ear, ”That’s good, that’s good.”

Lan Yuqin, who was pouring the tea, couldn’t help but glance at Chen Nan, thinking to herself: At least this jerk has some conscience.

However, regarding ”gentle and kind,” even Lan Yuqin felt skeptical. When had she ever been gentle? Especially in front of Chen Nan, she was nothing short of a fiery woman teacher.

”Here you go, drink it while it’s hot!” Lan Yuqin came over and handed the tea cup to Chen Nan.

Chen Nan felt speechless, drinking tea while it’s hot, he thought to himself, it’s not like it’s medicine.

After chatting casually for a few moments, Chen Nan steered the conversation to the main topic, ”Grandpa, I heard from Lan Teacher that you have an old injury on your leg, right? May I take a look?”

”Of course,” the old man nodded quickly: ”Should we look here, or should we go somewhere else?”

”Let’s go somewhere else,” Chen Nan said with a smile.

”Alright, let’s go to my room then.”

The old man stood up and headed towards his room, with Chen Nan following behind.

Once in the room, Chen Nan glanced at Lan Yuqin, ”Lan Teacher, please step outside. There’s no need for your help.”

”Can’t I just watch from the side?” Lan Yuqin asked.

Chen Nan shook his head with a smile, not giving a reason. In fact, the reason he had Lan Qingfeng come into the room was to ask about the middle-aged man who tried to steal the painting; otherwise, there was no need to keep Lan Yuqin out.

”Yuqin, since Little Chen says so, he must have his reasons. You should leave,” the elder said.

”But...”

Lan Yuqin glared at Chen Nan and turned around sulkily to leave, feeling that this bastard was definitely doing it on purpose to oppose her, intentionally driving her out.

You dare kick me out of the room, next time I will kick you out of the classroom, hmph!

Lan Yuqin bit her lip secretly, feeling extremely annoyed, and walked out, shutting the door behind her.

In the room, only Chen Nan and Lan Qingfeng were left.

Rolling up the elder’s trouser leg, Chen Nan examined several old gunshot wounds before taking out a bottle of medicine and applying some blue liquid on the old wounds.

The elder only felt a cool sensation gradually spreading over his old wounds, and couldn’t help but exclaim, ”What is this medicine? It’s miraculous.”

”It’s a family recipe, quite effective,” Chen Nan casually lied, laughing, ”Your old injuries aren’t a big problem, but they’ve been there for quite some time. You’ll still need to take a few more doses of medicine before they heal. If it were a newer injury of two or three years, a couple of drops of this medicine would have done the trick.”

The elder couldn’t believe it and said, ”Really, just a few more doses?”

No wonder he was skeptical; after all, for these old injuries on his leg, he had tried all sorts of treatments, both Chinese and Western medicine, short of surgery; but none had worked, and he suffered badly on rainy days.

Chen Nan nodded, ”Of course it’s true. Do you have paper and pen here? I’ll write down a prescription. Just follow this prescription and take three doses, and I guarantee your recovery.”

Seeing Chen Nan speak so confidently, the elder felt a bit excited and hurriedly found some paper and pen, handing them to Chen Nan.

Chen Nan wrote down the prescription and handed it to the elder.

However, upon receiving the prescription, the elder was instantly dumbfounded, staring blankly as he said, ”This... Weeds, Mimosa, Revolution Grass... these are all common plants, Little Chen, are you sure you wrote it correctly?”

”Rest assured, it’s correct,” Chen Nan said, ”These things aren’t medicine by themselves, but when combined with a few other ingredients I use, they become an effective cure.”

Although the elder felt it was mysterious, since Chen Nan had said so, he had no reason to doubt it any further. After all, the medicine Chen Nan had applied to his leg had visibly worked very well, making him feel much better all over compared to before.

”Little Chen, you are so young yet you know such profound medicinal skills; that’s really impressive!”

”These are all family recipes. I’ve been forced to learn them since I was a child,” Chen Nan casually lied, looking at the elder with a smile, ”Grandpa, there’s something I want to ask you about, if you don’t mind?”

The elder was slightly taken aback, ”What is it? Just ask.”

Chen Nan took out a drawing from his pocket, the same one of the middle-aged man drawn by Huo Xinya.

After Huo Xinya had finished the drawing, she had printed several copies; Chen Nan had given one each to Su Yixuan and Qin Yixuan, and he still had several copies on him.

”This man, Grandpa, do you recognize him?” Chen Nan handed the drawing over.

The elder took the drawing and his face immediately showed a look of surprise, looking at Chen Nan somewhat excitedly, ”Where did you get this drawing?”

”A friend of mine drew it.”

Chen Nan felt a bit excited, seeing the elder’s reaction; he apparently recognized the middle-aged man in the drawing and quickly asked, ”Grandpa, you know this man in the drawing? Who is he?”

Looking at the drawing in his hands, the elder’s hands trembled slightly, his face full of excitement as he said, ”He is my second son, Lan Feihu, and also Yuqin’s biological uncle.”
