Chapter 50: Chapter 57: Knocked Out by a Ball

Chapter 50 -57: Knocked Out by a Ball

Chen Nan dribbled the ball with an easygoing demeanor, jogging casually at the front while Zhao Ming huffed and puffed, desperately chasing behind. Despite using all his might, he couldn’t catch up, as if Chen Nan knew the Shrinking Earth Technique.

“Are you even a man? How can you run so slowly? If you don’t catch up, I’m going to shoot,” Chen Nan suddenly stopped, turned his head to Zhao Ming with a smirk, and continued running, almost making Zhao Ming’s nose skew with rage.

“Damn it, stop running if you dare, and see if I don’t steal the ball from you!”

Zhao Ming’s eyes turned red as he bellowed with all his might.

“Chase me, come on, if you have the guts, catch up and see if I don’t beat you to death.”

Chen Nan infuriatingly provoked from the front, while Zhao Ming gnashed his teeth and chased furiously behind. Soon, the two arrived under the basketball hoop.

Glancing briefly at Zhao Ming behind him, a cold smile appeared on Chen Nan’s face. Then, he leaped almost over a meter high, slamming the ball down into the hoop with both hands.

Dunk!

For a moment, jaws dropped all over the place, as everyone stared at Chen Nan in disbelief, even forgetting to breathe.

The moment he slammed the ball into the hoop, Chen Nan gave Zhao Ming, who had rushed under the basket, a sidelong glance. An evil thought flashed through his mind, so he slightly adjusted the direction of the basketball as he smashed it down.

As everyone watched in utter shock, the ball left Chen Nan’s hands and savagely dunked into the hoop. Then, with a loud “bang,” it smashed onto Zhao Ming’s head.

“Ahh…”

A piercing scream echoed throughout the court. Zhao Ming’s eyes rolled white; he stumbled and collapsed thunderously to the ground, knocked out cold. The entire basketball court erupted in a frenzy amid countless cheers, mixed with a few negligible curses.

Looking at Zhao Ming lying on the ground, Chen Nan feigned panic, hurried over, and shook his arm. “Zhao Ming, are you okay? You’re on the school team, too. Why did you duck under the hoop while I was dunking? Don’t you have any sense?”

Zhao Ming hadn’t completely passed out yet; upon hearing Chen Nan’s words, he struggled to open his eyes and squeezed out, “You’re despicable!” And with that, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted completely.

Could he not be furious? It was clear that Chen Nan had deliberately aimed at his head, so how had it become his lack of sense?

“Referee…”

As soon as Zhao Ming fainted, the referee immediately blew the whistle.

Surging Waves rose in his heart, not because Zhao Ming got knocked out, but from witnessing Chen Nan’s dunk, leaping over a meter high—a testament to his incredible jumping power.

Having been a PE teacher for so many years, he had never seen anyone with such impressive leaping ability.

“Zhao Ming is out; Class Twelve, send someone else in,” the referee scanned the surroundings and announced.

Class Twelve’s players quickly gathered and carried Zhao Ming off the court. The number seven player, who had passed the ball to Zhao Ming, glared at Chen Nan, “Teacher, he did that on purpose. That’s malicious fouling by Class Nine!”

The referee looked at number seven and instantly became serious, “A ball hitting someone during a dunk counts as a foul? Who taught you that rule? Zhang Long, you’re also a member of the school team, how can you not know such a basic rule?”

Chided by the referee, Zhang Long instantly felt abashed and retreated to the side, unable to speak.

“Alright, let’s continue the game.”

The referee spoke and threw the ball to a player from Class Twelve.

With three school team members in total, Class Twelve was now left with two after Zhao Ming got knocked out: Zhang Long and the number six player.

“Kid, I won’t let you get away with this!”

Zhang Long glared fiercely at Chen Nan, gritting his teeth as he spoke.

Chen Nan just shrugged nonchalantly, then grinned and whispered, “Little Dragon, you’re finished.”

Seeing the smile on Chen Nan’s face, Zhang Long shivered all over, feeling like he was being targeted by a venomous snake, and was so scared that he hastily backed away two steps before turning to run.

“Idiot, show some power, win back the score!” Su Qingqing, watching from outside the court, danced around excitedly, shouting at the top of her lungs.

Standing next to her, Lan Yuqin was also full of excitement, but as she was a teacher, she had to be conscious of her image and couldn’t get too carried away; otherwise, she would have definitely jumped up and shouted in support. Chen Nan was indeed a master. In less than a minute, he had already scored five points. Although there was still an eighteen-point gap with Class 12, the possibility of a comeback seemed quite large if they continued at this pace.

Chen Nan glanced at the score of both sides, then dashed quickly towards the center of the basketball court. The ball was now in the hands of No. 6 from Class 12. Like a wild leopard, he charged and dodged, extremely fast, breaking through blockade after blockade and heading for the basket.

However, at the last moment, he was blocked by Zhu Bajie.

With a body like a giant mountain blocking the front, No. 6 tried to break through on either side but couldn’t get past. Seeing that the other players were about to catch up, he hardened his heart and had to pass the ball to Zhang Long, “Ah Long, catch!”

Zhang Long stepped forward, jumped up, and prepared to catch the ball, but, just like Zhao Ming before him, he missed it completely, and Chen Nan snatched it in mid-air.

“Fuck, I’m going all out against you!”

Zhang Long, furious, leapt up and blocked Chen Nan with open arms.

“You think you can stop me?”

Chen Nan smiled at him, suddenly looked to the left and shouted, “Hey, you there, catch the ball!” Hearing this, Zhang Long hurriedly reached out to block to the left, but as he reached out, Chen Nan ran to the right instead.

“Son of a bitch, playing me!”

Zhang Long cursed loudly and quickly chased after Chen Nan.

Chen Nan didn’t bother with him, dribbled toward the basket, but when he was two meters away from the hoop, two players from Class 12 stretched out their arms to block him, completely cutting off his path.

Chen Nan didn’t care about breaking through. He leaped straight up, twirled his body in the air, caught the ball and slammed it in the opposite direction into the basket.

A reverse dunk!?

Seeing Chen Nan’s move, the two players blocking the way were stunned, then cried out and quickly ran away, afraid of being hit in the head by the ball like Zhao Ming.

The scene was unusually quiet, everyone watched blankly at Chen Nan, observing this boy who kept creating miracles.

“Plop…”

The ball dropped through the net and hit the ground with a crisp sound, while Chen Nan, with one hand on the hoop, applied a little force to land steadily on the ground, his movements clean and without hesitation.

“You’re so awesome, Idiot, keep raging on!” Su Qingqing’s face was filled with excitement as she yelled.

Lan Yuqin couldn’t help but shout out, “Go for it!”

The love-struck girls from Class 9 were also filled with excitement, screaming, “Chen Nan, I love you to death, keep it up and take down Class 12. We won’t have classes tomorrow afternoon so we can keep watching you play!”

As for Chen Nan, he was quite composed, flicking his hair, his face all smiles, unruffled by praise or criticism. Well… to put it plainly, he was actually showboating!
