Chapter 47 -54: Basketball Game

“You freak, I’ll never let you get away with this!”

Pointing at Chen Nan, Jiang Xiaomi roared and stomped furiously on the floor before covering her buttocks and running out of the classroom.

Chen Nan shrugged his shoulders and returned to his seat, not taking her words seriously at all.

It took a while before the classmates gradually came to their senses, and the look they gave Chen Nan was filled with one word—shock!

He had actually spanked Jiang Xiaomi’s buttocks!

That wild girl was one of the Four School Bullies of Yutan Middle School!

Everyone thought Chen Nan was either crazy or stupid to dare to hit Jiang Xiaomi—it was definitely a death wish!

Compared to the other students’ shock, Huo Xinya appeared quite composed, burying herself in her book as if everything that had happened had nothing to do with her. Of course, it really had nothing to do with her…

“You idiot, you’re awesome.”

No sooner had Chen Nan sat down than Su Qingqing gave him a thumbs up.

Seeing Su Qingqing’s excitement, Chen Nan was puzzled. She had been cheering for Jiang Xiaomi down in the lobby, and now that he had spanked Jiang Xiaomi, she should have been disappointed—why was she so happy?

“Do you have a grudge against Jiang Xiaomi?” Chen Nan asked.

Su Qingqing shook her head, “Not at all. We’re good sisters!”

“If you’re good sisters, then why are you so happy?”

With an excited face, Su Qingqing grinned and said, “You spanked her, and she definitely won’t let you off. There’ll be drama to watch in the future. How can I not be excited?”

“You…”

Pointing at Su Qingqing, Chen Nan was utterly speechless.

It turned out she had encouraged Jiang Xiaomi to chase him just for the amusement…

Touching Chen Nan’s ear, Su Qingqing leaned toward him, beaming, “Seeing you so frustrated makes me really happy. By the way, since your Kung Fu is so good, can you play basketball?”

Chen Nan ignored her. This girl had such abnormal thoughts; talking too much with her, Chen Nan worried he might go crazy.

Su Qingqing tugged at his shirt, “Idiot, say something.”

“…”

Su Qingqing grabbed his arm and shook it, “Hey, I’m talking to you!”

“…”

Seeing that Chen Nan still wouldn’t speak, Su Qingqing shrugged her nose and pouted her lips, then pinched him hard on the arm, “Stupid jerk, are you mute?”

“Ouch…”

Chen Nan gasped in pain, “Will you die if you don’t pinch people?”

“It’s what you get for ignoring me,” Su Qingqing pouted and said, “There’s a basketball game this afternoon. Your Kung Fu is so good; you must be amazing at basketball too. Why don’t you sign up?”

Playing ball?

Chen Nan glanced at Su Qingqing’s chest subconsciously; he was good at playing with those kinds of balls, but as for basketball, he really hadn’t played, “I don’t know how!”

“With your Kung Fu skills, how could you possibly not know how to play!”

“I just don’t know, okay? Do I need a reason?” Chen Nan said helplessly.

Su Qingqing scratched her head, “You’re not just trying to be lazy, are you?”

Chen Nan shrugged his shoulders, offering no explanation.

In the back of the classroom, Xiao Jiji gritted his teeth, watching Su Qingqing and Chen Nan chatting and laughing. He felt an urge to rush up and tear Chen Nan into pieces.

“Bro, why is this kid still okay? Didn’t Brother Ming say he’d get someone to break his legs after school yesterday?” Tian Pi Yan scratched his head, his face full of confusion.

Xiao Jiji clenched his fists, the veins on his face popping, “I called Brother Ming, and he said this kid has trained in martial arts. The guys who went yesterday underestimated him and ended up getting beaten by him.”

Tian Pi Yan’s face changed, “Then… what do we do? Are we just going to let him go?”

“Let him go? How could that be possible!” A sinister look flashed in Xiao Jiji’s eyes as he sneered, “Have you forgotten? Brother Ming’s uncle is the Head of the Zhao Family. This kid fought Brother Ming yesterday; the Zhao Family won’t let him off the hook.”

Tian Pi Yan immediately became excited, saying, “So you’re saying he’s as good as dead?”

“If not dead, then crippled!” Xiao Jiji sneered, “Brother Ming said to leave this kid to himself. Let’s find an opportunity to beat up Zhu Bajie first. That **** dared to hit Brother Ming in the bathroom yesterday, he must pay the price.”

At the mention of Zhu Bajie, Tian Pi Yan’s face filled with anger, “I’ve never liked that fatso, he almost crushed me to death yesterday.”

…

The basketball game was held in the afternoon, and almost all the classmates went to the court, except for Chen Nan.

It wasn’t that he wanted to be independent, but he was looking for someone—Huo Xinya.

Originally, Chen Nan planned to find her during the noon break and ask her directly. If she was reluctant to speak, he was going to use acupoint techniques to keep her from leaving. But what frustrated him was that the basketball game started right after lunch, canceling the break, and he waited in the classroom for a full twenty minutes without seeing Huo Xinya. He finally had to look elsewhere.

Besides the classroom, the only place Chen Nan could think of was the girls’ dormitory.

However, he had no idea which room belonged to Huo Xinya, and he couldn’t enter the girls’ dormitory either. Having no other choice, he just stood at the entrance to the dormitory. After waiting for more than ten minutes, Chen Nan still hadn’t seen Huo Xinya come out, and he started to worry. Maybe she went home in the afternoon as usual?

Just as Chen Nan was puzzled, his phone rang. It was a call from an unknown number.

“Who is it?”

Since he was in a bad mood, Chen Nan’s tone was rather harsh.

“It’s me, Lan Yu Qin. Chen Nan, you’re not at the basketball game cheering for our class. Where did you run off to?”

How does she have my number?

Chen Nan was stunned for a moment and casually lied, saying, “I have a bad stomach, I’m using the restroom.”

“Don’t make excuses. Is it necessary to stay by the girls’ dormitory if you’re using the restroom?” Lan Yu Qin’s tone became serious, “Hurry up and come to the basketball court. Our class is losing the first half. I heard from Qingqing that you play basketball well. You need to join the second half.

“What? I play basketball well?”

Chen Nan was surprised himself; when had he ever played basketball? Su Qingqing, that damn girl, really could spout nonsense.

“Stop pretending; hurry to the basketball court and stop being lazy,” Lan Yu Qin ordered sternly.

Chen Nan felt helpless, “Alright, I’m coming now.”

“Hurry up, run over here!”

…

After hanging up the phone, Chen Nan headed towards the basketball court.

As soon as he arrived at class nine’s basketball area, Lan Yu Qin walked over to him and threw him a set of uniforms, “Hurry and change. I heard from Qingqing that you’re better than Jordan. If you don’t turn the situation around in the second half, I won’t let you off from reciting the school regulations two hundred times.”

Chen Nan felt an urge to curse, how had he offended anyone? And why was it related to reciting school rules again! He quickly said, “Teacher, don’t listen to that damn girl, she just talks nonsense, I really can’t play basketball at all.”

“You better not think about slacking off. You must play in the second half, and you must win back the score for me.”

Seeing how adamant Lan Yu Qin was, Chen Nan felt very helpless. “Then… how many points is our class behind right now?”

“Thirty to twelve, only eighteen points behind, get them back for me in the second half.”

“Eighteen points… only?”

Chen Nan’s eyes widened, emphasizing the words “only.”

“Cut the crap and hurry up and change into your uniform,” Lan Yu Qin said.
