Chapter 22 -22: Infuriating Someone to Death Without Indemnity

It seemed that Chen Nan’s odd behavior had caught Eastern Yun Fei’s attention, as she leaned to the side, “Handsome boy, why keep staring at me like that? You’re making me shy.”

Chen Nan was not seduced by her act; instead, he stared at her and asked, “Where did you get that knife from?”

“You want to know?” Eastern Yun Fei said with a light smile, “I snatched it from a woman. Why? Are you interested in this?”

Snatched?

Chen Nan’s brow furrowed. Could it be that his junior sister was robbed by her? But Eastern Yun Fei didn’t radiate any Inner Qi fluctuations, at most she had practiced some external martial arts. How could she be a match for his junior sister?

“This woman you robbed, how old is she? What does she look like?”

“You seem very anxious?”

Eastern Yun Fei chuckled, “A girl in her teens, but she’s dead now. I never pay attention to the faces of the dead.”

A thunderous boom echoed in Chen Nan’s head, and his body trembled as if struck by lightning.

His junior sister was dead?

In the next instant, he sprang up like an enraged tiger, grabbing Eastern Yun Fei by the neck and pinning her onto the couch. His eyes were slightly reddened, his entire body emitting a violent and icy aura, the cold voice merciless, “Are you saying that you killed her?”

Eastern Yun Fei was stunned; the young man in front of her, just moments ago, had been as gentle as warm water—how had he changed so abruptly? That chilling Killing Aura emanating from him made one tremble in fear.

Eastern Yun Fei grabbed Chen Nan’s hand, desperately trying to struggle free, but his grip was like iron pliers, unshakable no matter how hard she tried. This realization alarmed her. Although she was sworn sisters with Su Yixuan and also served as her personal bodyguard, skilled in combat after years of training, she felt utterly insignificant before Chen Nan, small as an ant!

Seeing the scene unfold, the Su sisters next to them were startled and hurriedly rushed over to pull Chen Nan away.

“You damn fool, what are you going crazy for? Let go.”

“Chen Nan, let go. If there’s an issue, we can sit down and talk it out slowly.”

Instead of releasing his grip, Chen Nan squeezed even harder, his glare growing colder as he stared at Eastern Yun Fei, “Tell me again, did you kill her or not!?”

Struggling to breathe, Eastern Yun Fei hastily responded, “No… I didn’t, cough, let go… quickly.”

Upon hearing her denial, Chen Nan gradually eased his grip, “What actually happened?”

Eastern Yun Fei was gasping for air, clutching her throat; it took her a while to roll her eyes and complain petulantly, “It was just a joke, was that necessary? You scared me to death, I actually found this knife.”

“Found it?”

“You were so rough, my neck’s almost broken,” Eastern Yun Fei said resentfully, “I had heard from Yixuan that you had a junior sister, and seeing how anxious you looked, I wanted to scare you; I didn’t expect you, bastard, to have no concept of ‘treasure’. This Butterfly Knife must be related to your junior sister, right?”

Chen Nan let out a sigh of relief, realizing he might have overreacted; he nodded, “This knife is indeed one of my junior sister’s personal weapons, crafted by our master himself, and it’s the only one of its kind in the world. I was too agitated just now, my apologies.”

Eastern Yun Fei twirled the Butterfly Knife in her hand, “Since that’s the case, I’ll just give it to you then.”

Chen Nan’s face lit up with joy, “Really?”

“Of course,” Eastern Yun Fei said with a coquettish smile, “but…”

Chen Nan frowned, “But what?”

Eastern Yun Fei’s fair arm wound around his neck, whispering seductively into his ear, “How about letting big sister take a dip with you?”

“What?”

Chen Nan looked surprised, and after observing her for a moment, he flashed a bright smile, suddenly made a move, and snatched the Butterfly Knife away, sighing deeply, “Keep dreaming.”

Realizing what had happened, Eastern Yun Fei began to shout angrily and lunged at Chen Nan, attempting to take the Butterfly Knife back. But Chen Nan simply dodged to the side with ease.

“You bastard, give it back to me!”

Eastern Yun Fei was seething with frustration; she had wanted to play a trick on Chen Nan and ended up being outplayed instead.

You little vixen, dare to play tricks with me? I’ll make you cry rhythmically.

Chen Nan chuckled coldly in his heart, flicked the Butterfly Knife in his hand, and said with a smile, “Yun Fei, why are you getting so worked up? It’s not your knife anyway.”

“Who says it’s not mine? It is mine!”

Chen Nan scratched his head, “Really? Then would it respond if you called it?”

“You!”

Yun Fei gnashed her teeth and glared at Chen Nan, “You’re just being unreasonable!”

Chen Nan shrugged his shoulders, “Since you can’t make it respond, it’s in my hands now, so it’s mine.”

“You, you, you!”

Yun Fei pointed at Chen Nan, stomping her feet in frustration but was helpless.

Chen Nan burst into laughter and tossed an apple towards Yun Fei, “Thanks for the knife, Yun Fei. Here, eat an apple to cool down.”

“Cool down, my foot!”

Yun Fei threw the apple right back at him.

Chen Nan caught the apple and took a bite with a grin, saying with a sigh, “Hmm, so sweet, really delicious.”

“Eat, eat, eat, may you choke, you bastard!”

Yun Fei clenched her fists tightly, staring daggers at Chen Nan, wishing she could slap him all the way to Mars.

Chen Nan just shrugged his shoulders and then proceeded to ignore her.

“Alright, stop messing around,” Su Yixuan said with a smile, looking over at Chen Nan, “Are you free tonight? Come out with me for a bit.”

“Go out?” Chen Nan was taken aback, “What for?”

“I’ll tell you later.”

“Keeping me in suspense?” Chen Nan shook his head, “Nope, not going.”

“I’ll pay you overtime.”

Chen Nan’s eyes lit up, “A thousand bucks, cash upfront.”

“Five hundred.”

“Deal.”

“…”

Next to them, Su Qingqing and Yun Fei were utterly speechless. This guy really had a way with money.

Ten minutes later, the two of them headed out.

Sitting in the car, Chen Nan chatted with Su Yixuan for a while but found it quite boring, as Su Yixuan wasn’t much of a talker. So, he started playing with the buttons on the dashboard, suddenly saying, “Yixuan, your car is pretty fancy, let me have a go at driving it.”

“Alright.”

Su Yixuan stopped the car, got out, and swapped seats with him.

Settling into the driver’s seat, Chen Nan grasped the gear lever and studied it for quite a while, his eyes widening because everything on it was in English, and he didn’t recognize a single letter.

“How come it’s not like a tractor…”

Chen Nan muttered to himself, turning to Su Yixuan, about to ask for advice, but at that moment—

“Bang!”

Suddenly, a loud noise rang out, and the entire car shook slightly. The rear windshield shattered instantly, a bullet whizzed past Su Yixuan’s ear, and then another one shattered the front windshield.
