Chapter 17: Chapter 17 Huo Xinya and the Younger Martial Sister

Chapter 17 -17 Huo Xinya and the Younger Martial Sister

Huo Xinya’s secret?

Chen Nan furrowed his brows. What secret could Huo Xinya possibly have? He was genuinely curious about the class president, who seemed quite gentle and quiet, and couldn’t help but stop and ask, “What secret?”

Zhu Bajie grinned slyly, “Promise to take me on as your disciple first, then I’ll tell you.”

“Forget it then.”

Chen Nan turned and walked away.

“Wait, wait, wait!” Zhu Bajie hurriedly followed him, “I can tell you first, but you must become my master afterward, no going back on your word.”

Chen Nan glanced at him, “Are you a man or not? Stop with the nonsense and just tell me.”

Zhu Bajie smiled sheepishly and came closer to whisper, “I’ll tell you, actually, Huo Xinya knows martial arts just like you do.”

Huo Xinya knows martial arts?

The frail girl who nearly tripped and fell in the restroom, she knows martial arts?

Chen Nan felt nothing in the world could be more absurd than this; this fatso was obviously spouting nonsense!

“Dude, you lie without a draft. Is it because you’re afraid of wasting paper?”

Seeing Chen Nan didn’t believe him, Zhu Bajie got a bit anxious and quickly added, “I didn’t believe it at first either. But I saw it with my own eyes. A month ago, I was going home late from school and passed through an alley where I saw seven or eight thugs surrounding Huo Xinya. Since they outnumbered me, I didn’t dare to help, so I hid at a distance, ready to call the police. But when I had just taken out my phone, I saw Huo Xinya knock down those thugs with just a few punches and kicks. After they left, I went into the alley to take a closer look and saw a scratch mark on the wall, which was made by Huo Xinya’s fingernails.”

Chen Nan’s frown deepened, “Are you sure you saw clearly? That person was Huo Xinya?”

“One hundred percent sure!” Zhu Bajie nodded like a pecking chicken, “If you don’t believe me, I can take you to that alley right now. The scratch mark is still there!”

Chen Nan still found it hard to believe. He hadn’t detected any trace of Inner Qi in Huo Xinya before, and a person without Inner Qi definitely couldn’t scratch through brick walls with their fingernails!

Zhu Bajie scratched his head and added, “If it weren’t for what happened with Huo Xinya, I wouldn’t have believed such powerful martial arts existed in this world!”

“Since you’ve discovered Huo Xinya knows martial arts, why didn’t you just ask her to be your master? Why come to me?”

Zhu Bajie lowered his voice, “I approached her a few times in private. At first, she wouldn’t admit she knew martial arts. Later, probably because I annoyed her, she grabbed me by the neck and warned me, saying if I dared to divulge her martial arts secret, she would take my life. Just recalling that icy tone and look in her eyes still sends shivers down my spine. After that, I never dared to approach her again.”

Feeling that the fatso didn’t seem to be lying, Chen Nan nodded, “Let’s go, show me this alley you’re talking about.”

Zhu Bajie eagerly led the way.

After the two scaled the school wall and walked westward for about two li, they arrived at the alley mentioned by the fatso.

“Master, look, this is the place.”

The fatso pointed at the scratch on the brick wall and said to Chen Nan.

Chen Nan turned to look at the wall, and, not expecting much, was shocked at what he saw.

Nine Yin Divine Claw!

Staring at the scratch on the wall, Chen Nan recognized the martial arts technique used by Huo Xinya at a glance. What shocked him was that the Nine Yin Divine Claw was an exclusive skill of his master, Xuan Tianji, taught only to him and his junior sister, Ye Yiyi.

How could Huo Xinya also know the Nine Yin Divine Claw?

A torrent of confusion filled Chen Nan’s heart. Could Huo Xinya be Ye Yiyi?

The thought had barely crossed his mind when he dismissed it.

Although he hadn’t seen his junior sister for eight years, he was certain that Huo Xinya was not Ye Yiyi. Even though women change as they grow, their eyes stay the same.

Moreover, the scratch on the wall wasn’t very deep, and the mark was quite rough, which indicated Huo Xinya’s Inner Qi was not very profound, and she couldn’t have been practicing martial arts for more than five years. Whereas Ye Yiyi had been training since she was four years old, her Inner Qi was already deeper than Huo Xinya’s eight years ago.

Chen Nan felt a rush of excitement. Although Huo Xinya wasn’t Ye Yiyi, she must have some connection to her. Otherwise, how could she know the Nine Yin Divine Claw?

If indeed Huo Xinya had left the mark on the wall, then she would be an essential clue in finding his junior sister!

What he needed to do now was to confirm whether Huo Xinya truly knew martial arts, and then to inquire about his junior sister.

“Master, are you all right?” Zhu Bajie’s words interrupted Chen Nan’s train of thought.

Chen Nan shook his head, “I’m fine, let’s go.”

“Where to?” Zhu Bajie asked, puzzled.

“To find Huo Xinya.”

“She’s taken leave and gone home. Where will you find her?” Zhu Bajie said, “She left during the fourth period and asked the teacher for leave. Didn’t you know? Oh, wait, that’s not right, why are you looking for her? You’re not going to tell her what I just said, are you? She’ll kill me!”

Towards the end, Zhu Bajie showed a look of terror. Clearly, the icy stare from Huo Xinya when she threatened him had really frightened him.

Chen Nan felt somewhat helpless; he had been asleep during the fourth period and was awakened by Su Qingqing. Knowing Huo Xinya’s whereabouts would be strange.

It seemed he could only try to find her tomorrow.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell,” Chen Nan said with a smile, “Let’s go. Since we’re idle and bored, let’s find a place to have a couple of drinks.”
