Chapter 34 -34: Misunderstood Again

Some things, the more you anticipate them, the less they turn out as you wish—that’s just fate.

Chen Nan had been waiting for a full five minutes; Huo Xinya hadn’t spoken again until he was about to turn around and leave when she suddenly said another sentence, “Sister, don’t go…”

While speaking, she reached out to grab something in front of her, as if trying to catch something.

Sister?

Chen Nan was somewhat puzzled upon hearing this—wasn’t she just calling for Master? Why had she switched to calling her sister?

Looking down at Huo Xinya, he saw that after she reached out in front of her, she then lay motionless again, obviously still not awake.

Although Huo Xinya wasn’t awake, her current condition was making it difficult for Chen Nan to remain composed.

Because, the dress Huo Xinya wore today had very short sleeves. When she reached out, it seemed to have pulled on the shoulder strap of her undergarment, and now the pink strap had slipped off her shoulder and was hanging on her upper arm…

“Gulp…”

Chen Nan swallowed hard, unable to suppress the surge of wicked thoughts flooding his mind.

Looking at the pink strap, Chen Nan felt conflicted: if he bent down and followed the strap inside with his eyes… would that be too lecherous?

To look, or not to look?

This was a question worth pondering.

To look would make him feel like a beast, but if he didn’t, he would surely regret it later.

It was right before his eyes, might as well look—ignoring the opportunity would be a waste, and he’d be letting himself down!

She wouldn’t suddenly wake up, right?

Chen Nan gritted his teeth, bent down, and peeked inside her sleeve following the shoulder strap…

Saw nothing!

Chen Nan stood up and prepared to leave.

However, just as he had taken two steps, he stopped in his tracks.

Glancing back at the shoulder strap on Huo Xinya’s arm, Chen Nan hesitated.

Such a beautiful sight, what if someone else saw it? Maybe he should help her, put it back on her shoulder? If she found out later, she might even be grateful to him!

So, Chen Nan walked back.

Gently reaching out, he pinched towards Huo Xinya’s shoulder strap, and as he touched her delicate skin, his heart leaped violently.

Soft! Springy! Smooth!

Chen Nan’s breathing quickened, feeling like a thief in his heart.

Shaking off the vile thoughts, Chen Nan pinched the strap, preparing to hang it back on her shoulder when suddenly—

“Ah! What are you doing!?”

Huo Xinya screamed as she abruptly woke up, her face blushing with anger as she glared at Chen Nan.

Chen Nan quickly let go, feeling utterly wronged. He was just trying to be helpful like Lei Feng, yet from her tone, it sounded like he was being accused of being a pervert!

“Class monitor, it’s not like that, I saw your strap fall, so I wanted to help you…”

Before Chen Nan could finish, Huo Xinya swiftly stood up with an expression of ashamed anger, glaring at him, “You damn rascal, don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking. I’ve tolerated it once or twice, but don’t think I’m easy to bully. If you dare to do this again, I’ll tell Teacher Lan!”

Huo Xinya was nearly driven mad with rage. She had been wondering if the restroom incident might have been a misunderstanding, but now it seemed clear that this guy had done it on purpose! He was definitely a pervert! A lecher! A lowlife! Otherwise, why would he do such a thing while she was sleeping…

“It’s not like that, I really was…”

Chen Nan tried to explain, but Huo Xinya shot him a fierce glance and snorted as she ran out.

However, it seemed she was in too much of a rush, for she stumbled over the desk with her first step, and her body suddenly lost balance. With a cry of “Ah,” she toppled forward toward the ground.

Chen Nan was stunned for a moment; she tripped just walking—could it be that she really didn’t know martial arts?

Without time to think more, Chen Nan rushed forward a step, extending his hand to grab the back of her dress. Such a beautiful woman, it would be a pity if she ruined her face from the fall!

Feeling something substantial in his hand, Chen Nan knew he had saved her perfect face. He quickly pulled, attempting to lift her to her feet.

But man proposes, God disposes—at the very moment he applied force—

“Hiss…”

A sound of fabric tearing, a piece of cloth in Chen Nan’s hand, while Huo Xinya lay on the ground with a big hole torn in the back of her dress.

Chen Nan was dumbfounded—was the quality of the clothing really that bad?

He didn’t even consider how much force he had used when he pulled on the cloth…

“Ah…”

Huo Xinya cried out in fright, quickly scrambled up to touch her back, and quickly turned to face Chen Nan to prevent him from seeing the ripped rear.

Seeing her indignant eyes, Chen Nan felt incredibly frustrated, “You… you don’t think I did that on purpose, do you?”

“You did it on purpose!”

If rage could burn someone to death, Chen Nan reckoned Huo Xinya would have incinerated him N times over by now. Her face was flushed red as she glared at Chen Nan, then quickly opened her desk drawer, took out a school jacket, put it on, and turned to run toward the door.

Watching Huo Xinya flee in a panic, Chen Nan felt he could jump into the Pacific Ocean and still not be able to clear his name, “Class monitor, I really didn’t do it on purpose…”

“Hmph!”

Huo Xinya didn’t linger, hurrying out of the classroom.

In her eyes, Chen Nan was most definitely a super rogue, shameless and indecent, continuing to claim it wasn’t intentional. If it weren’t intentional, why had he pulled so hard? It was clear he had meant to tear her clothes!

Huo Xinya hated Chen Nan to the core, wondering what kind of sin she committed in a past life to end up in the same class as such a beast. If it weren’t for the jacket that just happened to be in her desk, she would have undoubtedly been taken advantage of just now.

“Pretty girl, why is your face so red, and why are you hurrying off? Did you encounter a pervert?”

Suddenly, Su Qingqing’s voice came along, startling Huo Xinya. She quickly looked up, only to see Su Qingqing running over, grinning from the stairway.
