King of the Wilderness

Chapter 497: Chapter 274: Enormous Gains After Withdrawing

Los Angeles, Century City, top floor office of Singh Law Firm.

Matty Singh stood before his massive floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the dazzling nightscape of Los Angeles.

But he wasn’t looking at the scenery; instead, his gaze was fixed on the tablet in his hand, where a K-line chart surged wildly like the spine of a prehistoric beast.

Unlike Scoot, who was restless, or Brian, who remained aloof, he stood like a patient vulture awaiting the scent of blood, his eyes glistening with a horrifying light of excitement and greed.

When his untraceable private phone rang, he pressed the answer button almost immediately.

”Lin?”

”Matty, the party’s over,” came the voice of Lin Yu’an.

”Roger that!” Matty’s response was brisk and forceful, as if pulling a trigger. His voice brimmed with uncontrollable excitement and a hint of bloodthirsty pleasure.

”My traders have already started executing the liquidation orders! Using the Netherworld Ghost Trading Law we discussed earlier, selling options contracts in small batches through twelve different anonymous accounts, ensuring no single large transaction records are left in the market!”

He wasn’t just executing orders; he even optimized the execution process with his most professional legal risk mitigation techniques.

”Very well, a good trading law, I’ll be adopting it too, thank you, Matty.” Lin Yu’an acknowledged his professionalism.

Matty couldn’t help but burst into wild laughter, a manic sound echoing in the empty office, ”Lin, we just shat on those self-righteous bastards on Wall Street, and they can’t even catch a glimpse of us!”

”You know, I just checked my account, and the nominal profit is already... oh my god, over thirty million!”

”This is just the curtain falling on Act One, Matty.”

”Yes, yes... you’re right, Act One is over, and Act Two is just beginning.”

He walked to his desk, pressed the speakerphone, and reported while pacing, ”Lin, I’ve made all the preparations.”

”My securities litigation team, in these twenty days, analyzed over five hundred pages of user agreements from major brokers like Robin Hood and Interactive Brokers, finding seventeen potential legal loopholes with misleading statements and ineffective unilateral disclaimers.”

His voice carried a hint of pride, as he had completely assumed the role of a wartime legal advisor.

”Calm down, Matty.” Lin Yu’an’s voice was like a cold breeze, cooling his fevered mind a bit.

”It’s too early to conclude if our operations were perfect. The cake’s just been sliced; there will always be someone willing to flip the table for a bigger share.”

This remark brought an abrupt halt to Matty’s laughter.

”Right,” his tone becoming sharp and astute again, ”you’re right, this is the moment of celebration, but the hangover and reckoning will inevitably follow.”

”The SEC won’t let it slide. Those hedge funds left destitute will hire the best lawyers in All of America, like rabid dogs, to investigate this matter. They’ll scrutinize all the trading records, trying to find evidence.”

”So, we need a shield, Matty.” Lin Yu’an’s voice turned exceedingly serious, ”An invincible, world’s most expensive shield. For me, for Scoot, and for Brian.”

Matty understood his meaning, Lin Yu’an was considering the retreat plan for all of them.

”Your team is well-prepared.” Lin Yu’an’s voice carried a hint of commendation, ”The brokerage agreement loopholes you found are excellent weapons. But now, I need you to turn the gun muzzle around.”

”What do you mean?”

”We must not appear as vultures eager to divide the spoils, too conspicuous. I need your team to immediately start constructing a defensive matrix.”

”Your task is to simulate the most stringent Hell Level internal review on all trading behaviors of our three parties from the perspectives of the SEC and Wall Street’s lawyers.”

”Identify all potential weak points that might be attacked, and prepare more than three legal preemptive plans for each point.”

”I need you to become our Devil’s advocate. Before the enemy makes a move, attack ourselves in the most vicious way.”

”Once, and I mean once,” Lin Yu’an’s tone became extremely solemn, ”any regulatory investigation intention points towards any one of the three of us.”

”Your team must mobilize like a prehistoric beast armed to the teeth, even rally retail investors to initiate a class-action lawsuit! Using the loopholes you’ve discovered, launch an unprecedented legal counterattack against the brokers and hedge funds!”

”We want them to understand,” Lin Yu’an’s voice carried a cold smile, ”investigating us will cost them ten times more than what they lost on GME.”

Matty fell into utter silence on the other end of the call.

”I understand... defense is the best offense.” Matty’s voice was hoarse.

”I’m glad we’ve reached consensus.” Lin Yu’an’s voice carried a trace of a smile.

Finally, he said, ”Then, my wartime legal advisor, begin forging that strongest shield for us.”

The call ended.

After making three calls, Lin Yu’an casually placed the encrypted satellite phone to the side. Only then did Aliya and Emily, who had been standing anxiously by the study door without daring to disturb him, quietly walk in.
