King of the Wilderness

Chapter 496: Chapter 273: Beaver DHC-2 Aircraft_3

In his voice was the gambler’s instinctual greed and hesitation as he watched his chips multiply madly. All his experience and reason were telling him that now was the time to hold on no matter what!

However, the voice on the other end of the phone was like a Siberian cold current, instantly freezing all his wishful thinking.

”Scoot, have you forgotten our initial agreement?”

Lin Yu’an’s voice was calm yet indifferent, ”What you’re seeing is the frenzy on the candlestick chart, the victorious shouts of countless retail investors.”

”What I see is the emergency liquidity meeting at the back end of Robin Hood and Interactive Brokers, the Wall Street titans making calls to Capitol Hill for help.”

Scoot’s heart skipped a beat.

”The party’s over, Scoot. Those staying inside now are just pigs waiting to be slaughtered. Do you want to be one of them?”

These words, like ice water over his head, instantly sobered Scoot.

”I... what should I do?” He gave up all struggle, his voice filled with absolute compliance.

”Immediately, sell everything. Don’t worry about the price. Use market orders, sell off regardless of the cost!”

”Understood!”

He finished speaking, and the call was directly disconnected, leaving only a cold busy tone.

Scoot, holding the scorching phone, dared not hesitate any longer. He turned around, returned to the conference room, faced those questioning eyes, and said in an undeniable tone, ”The meeting is paused for ten minutes! Everyone stays here until I return!”

Then, without looking back, he almost ran into his office, leaving the entire conference room of puzzled executives, wondering.

They speculated that something big must have happened.

In Switzerland, in a private ski resort in the Alps that was not open to the public.

The sky was an almost transparent blue, so pure it was free of any impurity. The sunlight poured mercilessly over the vast snow slopes, making each snow crystal sparkle like a diamond.

A black figure, like a sharp lightning bolt, was speeding down a slope covered in powder snow. His movements were fluid and powerful, and the snow spray from each turn traced a perfect arc in the sunlight.

At the end of the slope, next to the cable car station, a man in equally professional but more subdued skiing gear, wearing an earpiece, stood waiting respectfully like a statue. He was Brian Lorde’s chief assistant, David.

With the sound of an elegant brake, Brian Lorde stopped steadily in front of David. He removed his helmet and goggles, revealing a face carved by sunlight and cold wind, his breathing steady, showing no sign of exhaustion from vigorous exercise.

For him, conquering a slope of this level was as easy as taking a walk in his own backyard.

”Sir.” David immediately stepped forward, offering a hot drink at the perfect temperature.

Brian took the hot drink, and at that moment, David handed over a similarly encrypted special satellite phone.

”Mr. Lorde,” David’s voice was calm as if reporting the weather, ”It’s Mr. Lin on the phone.”

Brian’s lips curved into a nearly imperceptible smile.

He took the phone, not even avoiding David, and calmly spoke a single ”Hmm” into the receiver. He knew Lin Yu’an would call and what he would say. This call was merely a ceremonial confirmation.

”The signal has appeared, reel it in,” Lin Yu’an’s familiar and calm voice came through.

”Got it.” Brian’s response, like his expression, was calm and unruffled, as if confirming something that had long been on the agenda.

He hung up, handed the phone back to his assistant, then took a sip of his drink and gazed at the distant, glacier-covered majestic snow mountain.

In his retina, the mountain’s outline seemed to eerily superimpose on the madly soaring candlestick line on the Wall Street chart.

David stood quietly by, waiting for instructions, knowing the real decision-making was only beginning.

”Notify Team Nine,” Brian finally spoke, his voice exceptionally clear in the crisp air, ”Initiate the harvest agreement. Tell him not to rush to sell.”

David was slightly taken aback.

”Let the retail investors’ victory fly a little longer. When the market sentiment reaches its peak of frenzy, and liquidity is at its fullest, we’ll use our financial advantage to close out in batches at multiple price points.”

Brian’s eyes glinted with cold calculation, ”We’re not after a good price; we want the safest, most profitable exit without causing a market crash.”

”Yes, sir.” David immediately began to relay this more precise instruction through his earpiece to the trading team on the other side of Switzerland.

Brian put on his goggles, and the assistant immediately stepped in to secure his skis, ”Additionally, notify CAA Legal Department to start drafting the aircraft gifting contract.”

”The model should be a new De Havilland Beaver DHC-2, with turbocharged upgrades and top-notch avionics. Have Gulfstream’s interior team customize the most comfortable cockpit for him.”

David was once again surprised; the value of this aircraft far exceeded Lin Yu’an’s requirements.

Brian’s voice came from behind the goggles, tinged with a hint of amusement, ”Tell the legal department, the gift donor on the contract should not be CAA, but me personally.”

Having said this, he offered no further explanation, his body tilted slightly, and he again glided into the boundless expanse of white.

David stood in place, watching his boss’s figure disappear into the wind and snow, a storm raging within his mind.
