King of the Wilderness

Chapter 455: Chapter 252: Personal Challenge Filming Plan

On the other end of the phone, there was a sudden burst of hearty, unrestrained laughter!

”Haha... Hahahahaha!”

Scoot’s voice was filled with unabashed admiration, ”I retract all my previous proposals.” His tone became exceptionally decisive, ”Let’s do it your way!”

”As for the Archaeopteryx contract, up to eight million, we won’t take a cent! For any amount beyond that, we’ll take twenty-five percent!”

”Regarding other collaborations...”

”We will continue using the tiered model we discussed earlier. We won’t touch your personal creations, and for strategic-level projects, we’ll only take ten percent, how about that?”

Scooter Braun demonstrated his courage and decisiveness as a top-notch negotiator.

Lin Yu’an’s lips finally curled up into a satisfied smile, but he didn’t agree immediately.

”Mr. Braun,” he presented the last and most crucial question, ”Your terms are very favorable, and CAA’s strength is beyond doubt. But you must convince me of one thing.”

”Go on.”

”Why should I sign?” Lin Yu’an’s tone became extremely serious, ”With my current traffic and attention, I can completely operate independently, free and unfettered.”

”Or I could partner with my friends to start my own MCN company in China, keeping all the profits to myself.”

”Why should I choose to place my future within the vast system of CAA, and even pay a commission for it?”

This was a soul-searching question, demanding the other party to prove their value. On the other end of the phone, Scoot wasn’t surprised at all, and instead laughed even more happily.

”Lin, that’s an excellent question.” He put away all the commercial rhetoric and started a dialogue about value.

”To answer your first question: the pros and cons of operating independently.”

”The advantage is freedom, with you having one hundred percent control. The disadvantage is that your growth will have a ceiling.”

”You can become a very successful influencer, a millionaire making ten million US Dollar annually, but you will forever be trapped in the small circle of content creation.”

”You will be entangled with countless trivial matters — taxes, legal issues, public relations, brand coordination, content review... These things will exhaust all your creative energy.”

”Eventually, you’ll devolve from a creator into a businessman.”

”What CAA can offer you is freedom. We have the world’s best lawyers, accountants, public relations teams, and business negotiation experts.”

”We will become your shield and steward, blocking all these damn troubles, allowing you to focus entirely on doing what you do best: to create, to live, to become legendary!”

”The second question: why not your own MCN company.”

”Your friends in China might be reliable, even shrewd. But in the arena of global influence, he and your company are currently at zero.”

”Lin, you need to understand that you are now facing Archaeopteryx, LVMH, Mountain Rat... these world-class commercial giants.”

”Do you think an obscure small company has the qualification to sit at their negotiation table and have an equal dialogue with their global CEO and legal director?”

”But CAA can.” Scoot’s voice was filled with undeniable confidence.

”We’ve been dealing with the top executives of these brands for over a decade. We understand their bottom lines, are familiar with their tactics, and even play golf with their CEOs.”

”What we can offer you is not just a higher-priced contract, but also a voice, respect, and a ticket to the most elite business club on this planet.”

”Finally, and the most substantial benefit,” Scoot concluded, ”resources and network.”

”Do you want to shoot a documentary about Alaska? CAA can have Netflix’s Chief Content Officer fly to your cabin personally to hear your story.”

”Do you want to write a book? CAA can have Penguin Random House launch a global publishing plan for you.”

”Do you want to create your brand? CAA can connect you with the whole top-tier supply chain from design, production to global distribution.”

”Do you want to climb Mount Everest? CAA can assemble a top support team for you, composed of Olympic champions and ace Sherpa guides.”

”Lin, these are systems that you and your friends might not be able to establish even after twenty years. In this world, resources and connections are perpetual passes.”

”And today, you only need to nod, and this system will open its doors for you.”

Scoot’s words indeed struck a chord with the deepest needs of Lin Yu’an.

What he pursued was never simple wealth, but the freedom to achieve greater creations and pathways to higher platforms. Scoot had precisely depicted it all for him.

On the other end of the phone, Scoot could sense Lin Yu’an’s silence.

He knows that his words have hit the bullseye, and he waits quietly, waiting for the other party to finally nod.

However, Lin Yu’an’s next words once again surprise him.

”Mr. Braun,” Lin Yu’an’s voice remains calm, ”The blueprint you’ve painted for me is indeed very appealing. But as you’ve said, in this industry, efficiency is virtue.”

He pauses, and his tone suddenly sharpens.

”But to me, promises are cheap. What you mentioned, Netflix, a top-notch support team... these are future options. Until they’re fulfilled, they’re just empty promises.”

”I understand CAA’s capabilities and believe in your sincerity,” Lin Yu’an says slowly, every word clear and powerful.

”But to bet my future career for the next few years on you, I need more than just a blueprint, but a clear, binding roadmap.”

On the other end of the phone, Scoot immediately understands Lin Yu’an’s meaning. This young man doesn’t want guarantees; he wants solid clauses in the contract.

”Tell me your thoughts, Lin.” Scoot’s voice becomes very focused.

”It’s very simple.” Lin Yu’an throws out his final proposal.

”We can sign a three-year agency contract. Regarding commission distribution, I completely agree with your previously proposed, sincere tiered plan.”

This opening first affirms the other party’s sincerity, easing the atmosphere.

”However,” he shifts his tone, ”I need to add a resource commitment list to the contract’s appendices.”

”This list needs to specifically and quantifiably outline the projects CAA must initiate or achieve for me in the first year of the contract.”

Not giving Scoot time to think, he directly lists his demands:

”In China’s wilderness, I plan to launch a new personal challenge series, undertaking independent wilderness survival challenges in the four most iconic and harshest uninhabited areas.”

He enumerates: ”The Altun Mountain in Xinjiang, the Changtang in Tibet, the Ailao Mountain in Yunnan, or the primitive forest of Shennongjia. Survive independently in each location for three to seven days.”

”I need CAA to use your global influence to communicate with China’s official institutions for this series challenge, obtaining the highest level of shooting permission and logistical support.”

”Simultaneously, make this series a globally synchronized S-level documentary project, landing on platforms like Netflix, HBO, or Amazon Prime Video.”

This request instantly makes Scoot understand his intention. This kid wants not just a survival challenge, but an exploration of China’s most mysterious lands!

The cultural and political value behind it is indeed incalculable!

Lin Yu’an continues, throwing out an even more ambitious idea, ”I don’t mind learning in films, but I need an opportunity. CAA needs to secure at least three Hollywood audition opportunities for me.”

He adds: ”I don’t need you to guarantee I’ll land a role. Casting is an art of the director, and I respect that. What I need is just a fair competition opportunity. Whether I can secure it depends on my ability.”

After Lin Yu’an finishes speaking, the entire call plunges into absolute silence.

Scooter Braun, this man accustomed to controlling everything at the negotiation table, for the first time senses such a clear goal and impeccable professionalism from a yet-to-be-signed newcomer—far sharper and smarter than any previous probing!

The first condition directly targets the core value of the China market.

He’s not asking CAA to go to China to make money, but inviting CAA to be a collaborative partner, to create a cultural event worthy of being recorded in history!

For CAA, extremely eager to enter the Chinese market, it’s an irresistible open strategy.

The second condition is even more impeccable.

He’s not asking for roles but audition opportunities. It demonstrates his absolute confidence in his own abilities while giving CAA an almost irresistible and relatively manageable step.

He displays not the greed of a newcomer but a balance point where each condition benefits both parties and can be achieved with a little effort.

On the other end of the phone, a long silence ensues. Scoot doesn’t even laugh but slowly exhales, his voice carrying a complex mix of excitement and awe.

”Lin, I should call you a Devil,” he says softly, ”Your conditions are like a devil’s deal, full of temptation, making them irresistible.”

Scoot’s voice becomes extremely crisp: ”Everything you’ve mentioned will be written into the contract word for word!”

”If we fail to complete any of these within the stipulated time, you have the right to unilaterally and unconditionally terminate the contract, and CAA will pay you a penalty!”

This time, it’s Lin Yu’an’s turn to be surprised. He didn’t expect the other party’s courage to be this impressive.

”As for Archaeopteryx,” Scoot adds, his tone filled with ease and confidence, ”that’s just a small opening act before our great collaboration begins.”

Lin Yu’an slowly exhales, knowing he has already secured all his core interests.

He stands up, walks to the window, his voice calm yet with a hint of solemnity, ”Mr. Braun, I think I need to meet the lawyer you’ve recommended.”
