King of the Wilderness

Chapter 477: Chapter 267: Returns and New Investment (Part 3)

Aliya playfully stuck out her tongue, but obediently sat back down next to Lin Yu’an, solemnly handing the phone to Emily.

Emily took the phone, initially lowering her eyes with a hint of gentle curiosity, but the next moment, her fingertips slightly tightened on the edge of the screen, and her breath caught almost imperceptibly.

When she lifted her head again, those eyes, always as calm as lake water, were for the first time filled with tumultuous waves.

”Four hundred and twenty thousand US dollars?” She softly read the number, her tone full of shock! The principal of 180,000 had more than doubled in less than a year.

”That’s right.” Lin Yu’an smiled and explained, ”Over the past half a year, the concept of artificial intelligence has completely exploded, NVIDIA’s stock price soared, netting us 240,000.”

Aliya proudly lifted her chin, like a peacock flaunting its feathers, ”How about that, Emily? My man’s vision is impressive, right? We are now a millionaire family too!”

Emily looked deeply at Lin Yu’an, and this shock wasn’t just because of the wealth increase, but because Lin Yu’an chose to lay it all bare for her without reservation.

Lin Yu’an looked at them and continued to lay out his core plan.

”The signing fee for Archaeopteryx this time, the total contract is 13 million, which is the net income after tax. This money is enough to sustain the December project. But...”

He changed his tone, ”I don’t want just enough; I want us to have enough capital to completely free us from worrying about money, to achieve financial freedom!”

He looked at the two women, deciding to drop the crucial lie woven from his reincarnation memory.

”This time in Vancouver, my agent Scoot inadvertently revealed a piece of information to me.”

He lowered his voice, creating an air of confidentiality, ”It’s not about investment, but about... a war.”

”A war?” Aliya’s curiosity was immediately piqued.

”A war on Wall Street.” Lin Yu’an’s expression became exceptionally serious.

”Scoot heard from the top at CAA that several large hedge funds on Wall Street are jointly shorting a company.”

”They started laying out their plan in 2020 to 2021, but this time, they might have bitten off more than they can chew.”

”Which company?” Emily asked.

”GameStop, stock code GME.” Lin Yu’an slowly said the name.

”A struggling brick-and-mortar game retailer you’ve probably heard of. To those capital giants, it’s a corpse about to be buried.”

”But,” Lin Yu’an’s eyes gleamed with a peculiar light, ”a group, or rather countless ordinary people, are gathering to launch a full-scale attack on these short-selling funds.”

”Scoot says it sounds like a joke, but a fund manager he knows has already started to feel uneasy about it.”

Emily immediately exhibited her calm wisdom and instantly grasped the risks involved.

”Lin, you mean to join in a market sentiment gamble between retail investors and institutions? This isn’t investment; this is pure gambling!”

”And it’s a bet against the world’s top financial giants. We don’t stand a chance.”

”That’s exactly what I wanted to say.” Lin Yu’an gave her an approving glance, ”In the normal world, indeed, we stand no chance, but this time is different.”

”Because those hedge funds are too greedy. The number of shares they’ve shorted far exceeds the actual stocks circulating in the market. It’s a fatal mathematical loophole.”

He looked at Emily, his eyes blazing, ”This isn’t an indistinct direction, but an explosives barrel about to be ignited.”

”This is no longer value investing, but a speculation based on human nature and mathematical flaws. This is a madman’s game because if it fails, we will lose everything.”

”But... sometimes, the opportunity to change fate lies hidden in what everyone considers a crazy consensus!”

”What do you want to do?” Emily’s voice was somewhat dry.

”Very simple,” Lin Yu’an held out his finger, his tone decisive, ”I will invest the entire 13 million dollars from the Archaeopteryx payment into GME, within the next few days.”

This decision exploded like a bomb in the warm wooden cabin.

”Lin, this is insane!” Emily’s brows furrowed tightly, ”This is almost all of our liquid assets!”

”I’ve done the calculations.” Lin Yu’an looked at her, his tone full of confidence. ”That’s also why I insisted on not touching the 420,000 in our NVIDIA account.”

He looked at the two of them, ”That 420,000 is our insurance, the ballast for our home. The worst-case scenario is we lose this 13 million, and GME’s stock price drops to zero.”

”But we still have over 400,000 worth of high-quality stocks, so our quality of life won’t be affected in any way. It ensures that we can launch this attack without any worries.”

”But what if we bet right?” His eyes shone with a terrifying light!

”This isn’t about returns of tens of times, Emily, this is an epic-level short squeeze. If successful, we will see this money turn into unimaginable numbers within a month!”

Lin Yu’an’s words completely overturned Emily’s perception.

This isn’t a value investment lasting one or two years, but a lightning war that decides life and death in an instant.

This enormous risk coupled with equally enormous potential rewards left her feeling suffocating pressure.
