King of the Wilderness

Chapter 467: Chapter 262: Probing Questions After the Media Shock

Lin Yu’an just nodded lightly.

Under the witness of the media, the two of them signed their names on the giant contract board, symbolizing a cooperation worth a fortune.

In the subsequent media Q&A session, a female reporter from the New York Times immediately posed the sharp question that everyone wanted to ask but dared not voice easily.

”Mr. Weber, we all know that just a few days ago, there was a circulating assessment report on social media regarding Archaeopteryx not renewing the contract with Mr. Lin.”

”Could you explain how your company experienced such a significant change in attitude in just a few days?”

”Is this a reactive crisis public relations move due to Mr. Justin Bieber’s immense influence?”

This question was like a poisoned dagger, piercing straight into the heart of Archaeopteryx!

The entire room’s atmosphere froze instantly. Everyone’s eyes fixated on Marcus’s face.

Marcus’s smile froze for a moment, but soon, following the public relations script carefully prepared by Matty Singh, he offered a helpless yet sincere wry smile.

”I admit, internally, we indeed had some... disagreements,” he said frankly, ”any successful company will have differing opinions.”

”But ultimately, the pursuit of ultimate brand spirit overshadowed short-sighted commercial data. We are pleased to have made the right choice in the end.”

This answer, skillfully sidestepped the main issue, was almost perfect.

But at this moment, the previously silent Lin Yu’an suddenly picked up the microphone in front of him.

He looked at the female reporter and calmly said, ”Perhaps it would be more appropriate for me to answer this question.”

Marcus’s heart leaped to his throat! In his wildest dreams, he hadn’t anticipated that Lin Yu’an would deviate from the script at this moment!

Lin Yu’an’s gaze slowly swept across the room, finally landing on the camera lens.

”I do not think Archaeopteryx’s previous decision was a miscalculation.”

His first sentence caused an uproar in the room!

”On the contrary,” he continued, his voice not loud but clearly reaching everyone, ”I believe their previous assessment was very accurate.”

”Because that version of Lin Yu’an with insufficient commercial exposure did indeed exist.”

”He is someone who chooses to stay away from the clamor, focusing on building his home and spending time with family in the wilderness of Alaska.”

”In that Time Dimension, Lin Yu’an indeed was not worth a top-tier commercial contract.”

”And today, standing here, recommended by Mr. Justin Bieber, visible to the world, is another Lin Yu’an.”

”This is a me enveloped in traffic, capital, and immense prestige.”

The corners of his mouth curved into a meaningful arc, ”Hence, Archaeopteryx hasn’t abandoned anyone, nor have they chosen incorrectly.”

”They simply made two entirely different yet extremely precise value assessments of me as a product at different times.”

”I respect their previous non-renewal because that was pure commerce.”

”I also accept their new contract today because it too is pure commerce.”

”In this matter, there is no right or wrong, only choices. And I’m delighted that we both, in the end, made the most beneficial choice for each other at this point in time.”

His words were like a spring breeze, instantly resolving all the previous awkwardness and sharpness!

He did not criticize Archaeopteryx’s disdain for poverty and love for wealth, but instead, with a god-like absolute rationality, defined the other’s actions as a precise business judgment.

This not only extinguished all the media’s prepared scripts about betrayal and face-slapping but also demonstrated a tremendous vision for Archaeopteryx!

Marcus Weber stared dumbfoundedly at this young man beside him, for the first time feeling genuine admiration well up from the heart.

He realized how laughable his previous eight-million-dollar offer was.

This man is worth far more than any number on that contract.

Below, the female reporter from the New York Times quietly put down the recording pen she had prepared to follow up with.

She initially thought she had caught a bloodthirsty shark, not expecting the other party to be a dolphin gracefully leaping out of the water, leaving her speechless with wisdom and vision.

After a few seconds of silence, the room erupted in applause even more enthusiastic than before, applause not of politeness but of heartfelt admiration.

However, the media’s instinct was never satisfied by this. As soon as the applause subsided, the founder of trend media Hypebeast seized the opportunity, stood up, and asked a more direct question, more in line with the young trend culture he represented.

”Mr. Lin, hello. Firstly, congratulations. We’ve noticed that today you’ve chosen the Veilance series instead of the more iconic Alpha SV jacket. At the same time, LVMH’s helicopter has drawn significant attention.”

”Does this mean that your future personal brand will lean more towards fashion and luxury, gradually diminishing your label as a hardcore outdoor player?”

This question was equally sharp. It directly touched the most sensitive nerves of Archaeopteryx’s core fan base, those hardcore outdoor players.

If Lin Yu’an’s answer leaned too much towards fashion, it would undoubtedly alienate the brand’s foundation. If he completely denied it, it would seem hypocritical and waste the immense value brought by LVMH’s publicity.

Upon hearing this, Lin Yu’an simply smiled gently, looking at the founder with a calm and confident gaze.

”Thank you for your question. In fact, I believe that outdoor and fashion have never been opposites. They’re like a mountain and the lake that reflects it, one pursuing the ultimate height, the other showcasing inclusive breadth.”

He paused, allowing the photographers on site ample time to react.

”When I’m in the wilderness of Alaska, facing the minus forty degrees of cold and wolf packs, an Alpha SV is my armor; it represents survival and conquest.”

”But today, when standing here in front of friends like you, a well-tailored Veilance suit is my language for communicating with this civilized world; it represents respect and decency.”

His gaze swept across the room, his voice steady and strong: ”So I will not dilute any label. I will only seek to prove one thing to everyone.”

”A truly strong man can both build a shelter in the wild and earn respect in a conference room! Archaeopteryx provides me with the confidence to handle any environment calmly, and I will open the door to a broader world for Archaeopteryx.”

These words once again ignited the audience!

Not only did he not avoid the question, but he also elevated his personal choices to the level of brand philosophy, seamlessly merging two seemingly contradictory fields, while giving both Archaeopteryx and potential luxury allies an immensely gracious pedestal and vast space for imagination.

Marcus Weber, standing beside him, felt a surge of excitement; he nearly wanted to stand up immediately to applaud Lin Yu’an.

Before everyone could recover from this brilliant answer, the editor-in-chief of the most authoritative outdoor magazine, Outside, a revered elder, also stood up. His question returned to the origins of outdoor sports.

”Lin, we’ve all seen your videos in Alaska, that awe of nature and wisdom of survival are impressive. But now, you’ve signed with CAA, entering the world’s top-tier commercial system.” 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

”Our concern is whether the intervention of capital and pursuit of traffic would erode the purity of your content creation. Will there be more and more commercial placements in your future videos, losing that most precious sense of authenticity?”

This is the fans’ biggest concern and most fatal question. If handled poorly, the label of ”selling out” or ”losing authenticity” would permanently stick to him.

Lin Yu’an’s expression became a bit more serious. He nodded slightly towards the editor-in-chief, showing respect.

”I fully understand your concern because authenticity is the foundation of all my content, and the most important contract between me and my audience. I promise to you and all my followers, this contract will never be broken.”

He shifted his tone, a sharp glint appearing in his eyes: ”But at the same time, I also believe that commerce and authenticity are not mutually exclusive.”

”A great axe enables me to build a log cabin faster. Sufficient funding supports me in undertaking more grand expeditions, exploring those rarely visited places, and bringing the most extreme landscapes to everyone.”

”My principle is simple; I will only collaborate with brands that, like me, pursue the ultimate, respect nature, and genuinely help me fulfill my exploration dreams.”

”I will not compromise my content for commerce; on the contrary, I will use the power of commerce to create greater content. My roots will always be in that wilderness.”

After saying this, he gave a deep look at the editor-in-chief of Outside.

The elder was stunned, then nodded solemnly before sitting down. He realized he had worried too much. The young man before him was more clear-headed and stronger than he had imagined.

No more questions were raised after this.

It wasn’t that there were no questions, but everyone realized that any attempt to challenge him with language traps would only become a pedestal highlighting his wisdom and vision.

The applause at the end of the press conference was prolonged. They came today to witness a commercial signing, but unexpectedly, they witnessed the coronation of a king.
